FAIRY LIGHTS

Uplifting stories which will make you believe in fairies all over again....

I was walking through the local town centre doing a spot of shopping. I wasn? t looking for anything in particular, just something that was good value for money, or maybe spend a bit more than usual. A beautiful ivory and silver belt caught my eye. It was completely stylish, but a bit too much for me, as I was quite a conservative dresser and shopper. Anyway, the belt wouldn? t leave my mind, it was still sparkling and glittering in my memory, and I couldn? t help walk past the market stall which was selling handmade goods. I had never seen anything like it in my life. This was before you could buy fairy lights on every street corner. I eventually gave in, and bought the belt with tiny fairy crystals, and silver beads and white ribbons. That Christmas the shops were filled with fairy lights, and I felt s happy I wasn? t alone in loving this new style. The Christmas lights everywhere were tiny fairy lights, with silver shines and white ribbony light! I felt at peace that for one in my life, I had made the right choice, and more than one person felt the same. It?s like a fairy whispered me to buy the belt, as it was going to be everywhere and luckily I didn? t miss out. Now I always love fairies and fairy lights! - Anonymous

I was creating some drinks at home, some milkshakes and suddenly had a feeling to create something white and milky. I wanted something malty tasting but also extremely sweet. I found some special sugar syrup in a specialist store and quickly went to the till. I had a feeling to quickly buy the product and rush home and somehow include it in one of my milkshake recipes. I managed to find some more special ingredients, stuff you couldn? t buy in normal stores. What I had created was perfect for me, and didn? t unsettle my stomach. It was quite princess too, and perfect to drink. I fell into a deep sleep and dreamt about a fairy, who poured the drink for me again in a crystal glass, topped with cream and froth as I sat in the gardens of a castle which was covered in snow. I knew my drink was amazing, as it had sentimental value for me. I took my drink to a friends house and asked around if I could turn it into a business. Since then I have had millions of customers, and a secret drink which was served by fairies for a princess like me. - Ella 22

I was with my grandparents and left my parents at home during the Christmas holidays. My nephews and nieces were playing with some Christmas toys. We all began to decorate a Christmas tree we had all bought together. Everyone decided to top the tree with a crystal fluffy fairy. As we were happily decorating the tree, we began to think of others and my parents home came into my mind., I felt a pang of dread and decided to give them a quick call to see if everything was ok, it was as if the fairy light was making me sense this. I was right, my parents had a visit from one of my youngest cousins who suffered from a rare disease. We quickly rushed back home and took her to hospital, where only a few doctors could help her. They had to be rushed in from different cities and treat her rare condition carefully. Luckily she is in good health, and if a fairy light hadn? t urged me to call home, her health may have deteriorated for the worse, and she may have never found a cure. - Arora, 38, Fife
