The Country Club at Loch Lloyd Golf Course Maintenance Update Jeff Steen CGCS Director of Golf Course Maintenance

Just a quick update regarding the planned sodding of isolated areas in our fairways for next week, starting June 3rd. Due to the continued challenging weather, we will need to postpone until later in the month. Three primary reasons: 1. We are too wet to prep fairways properly. 2. Sod farm is unable to harvest turf at this time. 3. More inclement weather in the forecast. Therefore, we are planning to get the work done after The Whummle tournament, the week of June 24th. In the meantime, we are managing the fairways accordingly. As you see from the following photo, we have solid tine fairways again. This is the second time and in some areas, the third time we’ve performed this agronomic practice. With minimal impact, this practice helps get oxygen to the roots, water infiltration and alleviates compaction. Also, we have applied the necessary fertility and chemical applications. The programs in place will help out the turf tremendously and with a little break in the current weather pattern, the fairways will continue to improve daily. I included some weather data I thought you may find interesting as well. Overall, we are in good condition with the exception of the isolated areas in fairways. On behalf of the entire maintenance team, we appreciate your continued patience and understanding. 1
