Valued Member, We are pleased to announce that The Country Club at Loch Lloyd has begun phasing Club operations back into form effective Tuesday, May 5, 2020. With local and state government authorities lifting the shelter-in-place order that we all have patiently observed over the last month plus, the time has come for us to put into effect all of our newly formed habits that we have been practicing. Considering our alternatives, the past month has been a supreme success for the community and Club with all of our members, associates and residents maintaining positive health and significant activity with the Club. The positive narratives include maintaining our full-time associates, exceeding expectations with golf course conditioning and expanding the use of our talented food and beverage team to meet all of the community needs during such an uncertain time in life.

The Club would like to extend its sincere gratitude to those members that continued to support the team, our amenities and our services during the past month. Nearly all categories of memberships utilized the Club; whether for golf or for their food and beverage needs. Just a small 18% of the full golf membership rested dormant during this shelter-in-place. We understand that the circumstances have been less than convenient for golf, for food and for fitness, but to see our membership engage with such a supportive spirit has truly defined what makes this Club and community so special and so unique.

The future remains uncertain for our region, and this lack of forward visibility will keep us as Club operators distinctly and keenly focused on our constituencies’ health and safety as the first and top priority. Our commitment and objective remains to inculcate our staff with a new standard for safety in an evolving situation. Social distancing and limiting touch-points will remain the narrative.

Our operation and daily lives will continue to be challenged with decisions that weigh risk benefit. Of course, in this pandemic the risk of infection is actually unknown without testing, but the consequences are potentially lethal ... even in younger people. The benefits are actually trivial. So most resistance or debates/arguments become inane. Perhaps with time and with widespread testing, we will be better equipped to field questions from members regarding the potentials associated with contracting this disease from our location or amenities. What we do know is that our forthcoming operating mode will be slightly different than before the pandemic as we seek to bring our venues and business units back on slowly and cautiously.

We will let our success to date be the guiding and confident compass to lead our daily decisions as to how and when we phase elements of each business back to full strength.

Please pay specific attention to the information on the next page. It is what you need to know about the operational changes at the Club as of Tuesday, May 5, 2020.

The executive team and the ownership group feel assured that our compliance and adhered-to recommendations made by local government and the CDC will continue to offer you and the membership at-large total confidence in our environments with the knowledge that they are being managed with health and safety as our top priority. We are committed to this for the potential long-term impact that this pandemic could have on our region. We want you to know that we don't enjoy these inconveniences any more than another and truly desire for our community to unite by supporting one another, respecting one another’s priorities and trusting and believing in your Club ownership and executive team to make the right decision for your membership.

As we manage and navigate our way through the first phase of reopening, we will continue to keep you apprised of developments and government notifications or changes and adjustments to our operating mode.

CLUBHOUSE HOURS OF OPERATION  The Clubhouse will be CLOSED on all Mondays.  The Clubhouse will be OPEN Tuesday-Saturday 10:30a to 8p  The Clubhouse will be OPEN Sunday 8a to 7p ACCESSIBILITY To better limit points of contact for members and staff, there is one primary entrance/exit: the north Golf Shop entrance (nearest 1st tee box), will remain open during Golf Shop hours.

SECHREST GOLF COURSE  The temporary closure of the Sechrest Course will continue.

The network of Sechrest golf corridors and cart paths may be used for recreational walking, hiking, biking and exercise.

GOLF OPERATIONS HOURS  Golf Shop: 7a to 7p  Practice Facility: 7:30a to 7p

LOCKER ROOMS  All showers will be closed; accoutrements will be removed.  Lockers/restroom facilities will be available and accessible by request through the Golf Shop Professional Staff.  Shoe service is available on a limited basis and will need to be scheduled through the Golf Shop Professional Staff.

GOLF RULES, REGULATIONS & SOCIAL DISTANCING  Members are required to practice SAFE social distancing, keeping a minimum of six feet of separation.  Guests are not allowed.  Do not touch flagsticks.  Rakes, water coolers, cups, lids and trash receptacles will remain off of the golf course.  Refrain from shaking hands, hugging, fist bumping, etc. post golf rounds.  Continue to limit social gatherings before and after golf.  A maximum of five (5) people at a time will be allowed in the Golf Shop, while keeping social distancing.  Loch Lloyd golf carts will be rented to members on the tee sheet only; not available for those wishing to practice only.  Do not arrive more than 15 minutes in advance of your tee time to the first tee area.  There will be less associates working; guest experience and expectations will not be what we are used to.  Associates will not touch golf bags; no bag storage available.  Unapproved member-owned golf carts are NO longer permitted on the golf course.

GOLF CARTS  Loch Lloyd carts are for those on the tee sheet for that day only (one person per cart unless the two riders cohabitate).  Loch Lloyd golf carts are available on a first-come basis.  Golf carts will be assigned by a Loch Lloyd associate and documented as to what member uses a particular cart.  In the event of a golf cart shortage, the Club will attempt to produce a clean and sanitized cart in a timely manner.  Golf carts will be sanitized before and after each use.  There will be a designated area in the main parking lot for sanitized carts; another for used carts coming off the course.  Members must remove debris or trash from their golf carts.

PRACTICE FACILITY OPERATIONS AND REGULATIONS  The east side of the Practice Facility is the only side open.  Hitting stations will be designated as “numbered stalls;” each player will be assigned a “numbered stall.”  Reservations are required for use of the Practice Facility; impromptu practicing will NOT be allowed.  Golf ball pyramids will be set up to indicate areas in which you may hit balls.  There will be NO tees provided; NO bag stands, club washers, trash cans or water coolers will be available.  If you are playing golf, we ask that you do not arrive more than thirty (30) minutes of your tee time to warm up.  If you are wanting to practice, we ask that you limit your practice time to no more than thirty (30) minutes.  To use the Practice Facility, you may park your vehicle at the Fitness Center or walk from the main parking lot. Loch Lloyd golf carts are for members on the tee sheet only.

FOOD & BEVERAGE OPERATIONS AND REGULATIONS PATIOS — open for post-golf seating and to-go dining IN-CLUB DINING CLOSED AT PRESENT TIME  Members are required to practice SAFE social distancing,

keeping a minimum of six feet of separation.

Patio tables will be placed a minimum of six feet apart.

Maximum occupancy per table not to exceed 10 members.

To-Go orders are available Tuesday through Sunday.

Orders must be placed at least 30 minutes prior to closing.

Grocery orders placed by noon Mondays will be available for pick-up between 3p-7p on Tuesdays.  Grocery orders placed by noon Thursdays will be available for pick-up between 3p-7p on Fridays.     

ON-COURSE FOOD & BEVERAGE  On-course food and beverages will be offered at the comfort station Tuesday through Sunday from 10:30a to 5p.  Offerings include pre-packaged sandwiches, non-alcoholic beverages, beer, wine and mixed cocktails.  No beverage cart service will be provided.  Call-ahead orders may be placed by calling 816.509.7780.

FITNESS CENTER OPERATIONS AND REGULATIONS  Fitness Center hours of operation are as follows: Monday-Friday 5a to 5p; Saturday 8a to 12p; closed Sunday.  Members are required to practice SAFE social distancing, keeping a minimum of six feet of separation.  Guests are NOT allowed.  Maximum occupancy not to exceed 10 members.  Use of facility is by reservations only, in one-hour time slots using this link: https://calendly.com/lochlloydfitness/schedule.  Members must use the provided wellness wipes before and after use of each piece of equipment.  Group X classes will continue online.  Showers are closed; no hand or shower towels provided.  Massage service has been temporarily discontinued.  All locker room accoutrements will be removed.

POOL & TENNIS OPERATIONS AND REGULATIONS We are preparing to open the Pool on schedule (Memorial Day weekend) or as authorities prescribe in their response, recovery and reopening phase protocols. In keeping with social distancing, we must remind members of safety expectations regarding the Tennis/Pickleball courts:  NO guests allowed.  Reservations are required by using the ForeTees app.  Water and towels will not be provided.  The Ball Machine will not be available for use.

Dear Members, Strange days and difficult times. The calendar year of 2020 will certainly be one written into the history books. Who would have thought that a pandemic would disrupt the world in the 21st century!

While just about everything in the world is shut down, golf courses in many areas have been booming with extraordinary amounts of play. Loch Lloyd is certainly experiencing heavy traffic on our golf course as well. I’m glad you are all outside, enjoying the game that we all love so much!

The Scotty has been rescheduled for Thursday, August 6th through Saturday, August 8th. Please also block Sunday, August 9th on your calendar as well, as that will be our rain date. The Scotty is currently sold out and a waitlist has been created. Those members who have already signed up to participate in The Scotty are considered entered in the event. If you cannot play on the rescheduled dates, please let the Golf Shop know immediately so that we may transition players from the waitlist to the players’ list.

HOURS OF OPERATION

The rescheduling of The Scotty has shifted some of our other scheduled events.

Listed on page 5 of this newsletter is the updated tournament schedule. Our intent with golf events for the remainder of the year is to complete all of our scheduled events; however, some events may be rescheduled. Our priority will be to get the Brigadoon, Whummle, Scotty and Club Championships completed. Individual Match Play, FourBall Matches and the LLLGA Partner Challenge will get underway, starting May 20th. Look for future emails on when to sign up.

As you are probably aware, The Country Club at Loch Lloyd has temporarily closed the Sechrest Nine Golf Course for member play to repurpose the golf corridors and cart paths as a recreational walking, hiking, biking, exercise and dog walking space for all residents and members. We are happy to see so many people taking advantage of this new community space.

Thank you for being mindful and respectful to the rules that have been set forth regarding this temporary change. These rules include obeying leash laws while walking your dog and being respectful to clean up after your pet.

The new rhythm of life within the Golf Course Maintenance team at The Country Club at Loch Lloyd! This is a common expression within our daily

huddles and team meetings. Our associates have adapted to a new “normal” of different start times, social distancing, working as individuals and creating a safe work environment while we all come together during these unprecedented times. Please see the picture below of the entire GCM team as we recently gathered at 12-foot intervals to safely send out a hello to the membership!

It’s hard to believe how quickly we got to the month of May. The course is greening up nicely, fairways filling in, leaves abundant, flowers in bloom and steady rounds of golf are keeping us busy. Please take a moment in passing to say hello to the associates. The team takes a great deal of pride in producing the best possible product on a daily basis so that you have the most enjoyable round of golf. One additional note to touch upon is Monday golf. Although the course is closed on Mondays, I am working with Sean Hanna to possibly open the tee sheet for limited golf on Mondays in the late afternoon. Until that time, we ask that you please refrain from playing golf on Mondays due to the following issues:  The course needs a break from 300+ rounds over a busy weekend  Maintenance completes agronomic practices on Mondays, such as chemical and fertility applications,

which may not be safe for golfers

 Projects are being worked on and associates do not expect to watch for play (SAFETY)  COVID-19 split shifts and extended hours so the team can catch up on deferred maintenance projects

The safety of my associates and their families as well as members and their families continues to be my top priority. Please stay safe and keep practicing social distancing. World Handicap System (WHS)

As most of you are aware, the World Handicap System has replaced the previous handicap application. The new application is user-friendly and will prove to make handicaps more accurate and timely.

The recommendation by the WHS is that you input your scores hole by hole the day that you played. Hole-by-hole input is recommended as it will adjust your hole-by-hole maximum score to a net double bogey without you needing to do the math.

How do I participate in a class?

Simply type the LINK into the address panel of your web browser at the specified time of the class. You may view the weekly classes (Quick Workouts, Yoga Blend and Core to Score + Stretch), any time throughout the week.

It’s been a while since I’ve worked out.

Can I still participate?

Absolutely! Each instructor will show you how to modify the class to meet your experience level. Based on what size weights you use, you may personally tailor the workout to make it as easy or as difficult as you would like.

What if I don’t have equipment?

No problem! Instead of weights, use two full water bottles or canned goods as a substitute. All classes are customized to all fitness levels and individuals.

Is there a fee for taking the classes?

There is NO fee for taking the virtual classes and there is NO limit to the number of classes you may participate in.

THANK YOU! With your support, the Food & Beverage team has been able to keep our staff busy and working safely the past month to prepare and package your to-go and grocery orders. We appreciate the opportunity to keep working and to serve you. We also enjoy seeing you and waving hello as you drive up for curbside pick-up! As you may know, the Club will begin transitioning to reopen some of our facilities, effective May 5th. A few changes will be taking place within the Food & Beverage operations and you will find a bulleted list of these changes on page 3 of this newsletter.

Our to-go and grocery services will continue but our hours of operation will change and we will resume being closed on Mondays. The breakfast menu we had been offering daily will now be available only on Sundays from 8a to 11a. Executive Chef Damian and his talented culinary team will continue to offer to-go specials to add variety to our regular menu.

We’re excited to roll out a new “Cocktail Kit” program featuring fresh ingredients, flavorful mixers and various alcoholic beverages. It’s never been easier to be your “own bartender!” See page 13 of this issue for details on our first “Cocktail Kit” and look for more options coming soon.

Please be assured that the high level of safety measures we had in place last month to keep members and associates safe are STILL in place today. We remain vigilant with regard to social distancing, working in staggered shifts, disinfecting work stations frequently and using extreme care in preparing and packaging all of your food orders.

Have you had the opportunity to use our “Groceries & More” service yet? Our grocery list contains 70 items (meats, fresh produce, alcoholic beverages … even toilet paper)! The ordering process is as easy as placing a to-go dining order. We take grocery orders twice each week with the following schedule: Orders placed by noon Mondays will be available for pick-up between 3p to 7p on Tuesdays.

Kerianne Strickland Nunez

Sarah Bennefeld

Kerianne Strickland Nunez grew up in Wichita, Kansas and began working in restaurants at age 17. She studied at the Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley, where she graduated with a degree in Culinary Arts.

Sarah Bennefeld started working at The Country Club at Loch Lloyd in 2014 as a Line Cook. Over the past six years, she has gained insight and a great deal of experience in food service. Sarah credits her amazing coworkers for sharing their knowledge along the way.

Kerianne moved to Los Angeles in 2013, where she worked at Tom Colicchio’s restaurant, Craft LA, and fell in love with making fresh pasta. She then went on to work at The Cheese Store of Beverly Hills, where she learned more about fine wine, cheese and hosting events.

In 2018, Kerianne and her fiancé, Javier, moved to Kansas City and Kerianne began working at North Italia, located in Leawood.

In her free time, Kerianne loves baking, playing with her dog, Jackie, and cooking with Javier. She is very excited to continue her career at The Country Club at Loch Lloyd as the new Assistant Food and Beverage Director, and can’t wait to meet all of the Club members!

In addition to her love for the culinary arts, Sarah enjoys music and recently began learning how to play the violin.

She loves cheesy jokes, reading, spending time outdoors and being with friends and family. We’ve also heard that she is fluent in Spanish and rarely misses the opportunity to attend Kansas City’s Irish and Renaissance Festivals!

Sarah was recently accepted to the Johnson County Community College Dental Hygiene Program which she will begin in the fall of 2020.

This well-rounded, talented young woman brings a great deal of enthusiasm to the Loch Lloyd kitchen every day.

Her smile is contagious and she is a joy to be around!

Dear Member, As we navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic, the executive team at The Country Club at Loch Lloyd continues to meet regularly to determine whether to postpone, reschedule or cancel member events. Our primary concern is the safety of members and staff. We’re doing everything we can to keep everyone safe. Although we certainly hope we’re nearing the end of our seclusion and the return to “business as usual” at the Club, we appreciate your patience, understanding and flexibility regarding these changes.

One such change is The Scotty Post Party, our inaugural event which was scheduled for May 16th. Now that The Scotty has been rescheduled for August 6th-8th, the Post Party is moving as well. Please save the date for August 8th.

Loch Lloyd Lightning Swim Team 2020 SEASON CANCELLED from Coach Eric’s April 27th, 2020 Email

I hope this email finds you and your swimmers happy, healthy and embracing this time to be home together. As you know, our league officials got together yesterday to determine the status of our swim season. Unfortunately, at this point it has been determined that the season as we know it will be cancelled. While this is tough news for all of us, the risks far outweigh the rewards.

Chris Brems, Dara Witte and I are committed to continue to explore ways to have some semblance of a swim season for our kids this summer. At this point, with no plan in place from government officials on the when and how our communities will be re-opened, we also have yet to formulate a plan. As soon as we receive the appropriate mandates, we will work diligently toward putting something together for our kids!

In the meantime, registration will be closed. All fees will be refunded. When we get our plan put together, we will then open a new registration commensurate with how we decide to move forward. Rest assured that we will keep you as up to date as we are. Please give the kids my best and let them know that I cannot wait to be on deck with them as soon as possible!
