'The Masks We Wear' was an audio visual installation devised by young people in the care of Five Rivers fostering in 2018. It is a powerful creative work featuring masked mime, music, song and spoken word. The young people worked alongside creative professionals in a spirit of openness and equality to devise and create a project that shines a light on the importance of speaking up and disclosure of abuse. The characters represent real people and situations they have encountered in their families, in care, in school and as potential employees. This publication includes a transcript with a project summary and can be used as a training resource for adults working with children.
