RHS HAMPTON COURT PALACE GARDEN FESTIVAL

4th – 9th July 2023

The world’s largest annual flower show is set in the historic grounds of Henry VIII’s magnificent Grade I listed Tudor Palace. Be wowed by stunning gardens, vibrant floral displays, endless shopping and food and entertainment. Visitors can immerse themselves in the inspiration provided by the Show Gardens, the Rose Marquee, Floral Marquee, all while enjoying Champagne along the banks of Long Water.

RHS has revealed preview highlights from the very best garden designers and experts gathering to showcase cutting-edge design, thought provoking displays and innovative ideas.

2023 SHOW GARDENS INCLUDE:

The beautiful Show Gardens category allows talented designers to turn unique artistic plans into a feast for the eyes….

• Explore Charleston - Welcome To Charleston - designed by Sadie May Stowell, built by SM Corporate Events Ltd. Providing a glimpse of the historic courtyard gardens of Charleston, South Carolina, capturing their spirit, charm and elegance. Wrought iron railings, reflecting the historical tradition of iron work, brick which was historically hand made in the city and water features representing the famous Charleston waterfront fountain and based on the pineapple - a symbol of welcome and hospitality in the city.

• The Cancer Research UK Legacy Garden - designed by Paul Hervey-Brookes, built G.K Wilson Landscapes. Telling the story of how a gift in your Will is a pledge that helps fund vital research to save the ones we love, research in memory of those we’ve lost and research that will beat cancer for future generations. With varying levels, the garden is mostly hidden from the outside. Discovery happens when you step inside. stream inlets lead to a central body of water with an isolated jetty – a metaphor for the fear and loneliness cancer can bring – but facing the ‘Pledge Pavilion’ symbolises hope and though the journey is difficult, you are not alone.

2023 Get Started Gardens

These gardens showcase simple, low cost and achievable ideas using reliable plants that are affordable and easy to look after….

• The Landform Mental Wealth Gardendesigned by Nicola Hale, built by Landform Consultants Ltd. The garden aims to promote the feeling of wellbeing by using scent and beautiful planting to lift the spirits. The central water feature is made from weathered mild steel, evocative of the seasonal changes in nature. The pleasure gained from just sitting and relaxing is at the heart of this design with an area to experiment with herbal remedies and sip a cup of peppermint or chamomile tea, using herbs freshly picked from the garden.

• The Lunar Garden - Designed by Queenie Chan, built by Topoforma Landscape Ltd. An atmospheric setting allowing visitors to enjoy outdoor living from day into night, taking inspiration from the moon with all elements in the garden on a lunar theme. Oriental and Western planting work together in tones of white and silver to suggest moonlight, complemented with splashes of green foliage.

Floral Marquee

The floral fiesta continues with beautiful plants and flowers grown by over 90 nurseries. There’s also Plant Heritage, Plant Village and the Potting Bench – with demos from the growers. Centre stage is the RHS Master Grower 2023.

• Talks, Demos and Music - Expand your knowledge with inspiring talks, creative demonstrations and practical workshops on gardening, floristry, design, food, craft, health and wellbeing from some well-known faces, including Monty Don and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, For music lovers, the Bandstand fills the air with the sounds of summer, while visitors can sit back and relax with a drink and enjoy the show.

• Delicious Food and Drink – Waterside Hampers by Fortnum & Mason - Visitors can treat themselves to a special Fortnum & Mason picnic hamper located along the Long Water. Or indulge in delicious street food or a cup of tea and cake.

• Family Fun - There are plenty of free activities to keep the kids entertained. with hands-on activities learning new skills to encourage an appreciation for nature, gardening and the outdoors.

• A Shoppers’ Paradise - Enjoy hundreds of stands with something to tempt everyone. You will discover a host of exhibitors, both new and established, selling their innovative and desirable gardening paraphernalia, unique gifts and indulgent treats.
