ishop’s Stortford College is one of the UK’s top 20 performing independent co-educational day and boarding schools for pupils aged 4 to 18 and is consistently ranked within the top 100 independent schools in the country (based on A Level results). As three schools in one (Pre-Prep, Prep and Senior School) the College is large enough to provide an exceptional range of opportunities, yet small enough for individuals to feel known and valued. The College is passionate about the value of an all-round education and life at Bishop’s Stortford College is packed with opportunities outside the classroom. The community is happy and down-toearth yet breadth of experience is woven into daily life. Pupils are immersed in an environment of wholehearted participation and discovery, making the most of their potential academically, as well as in sport, music, visual arts, drama and many other activities. Pupils develop confidence as they succeed and stimulate their desire to learn. The infectious enthusiasm and dedication of teachers encourages, challenges and excites every pupil to achieve his or her best across a broad curriculum. In 2017, Sixth Form students achieved a 100% pass rate at A level; almost a quarter of all results were A* and 37% of pupils achieved at least 3 or more A/A*. At GCSE 70% of results were A*/A and 99.4% A*/C. Following their Inspection by the ISI in March 2017, the College received the headline judgement ‘Excellent’, the highest achievable, with inspectors

reporting, “The school successfully meets its aim to be a place of learning with a broad and balanced curriculum that enables pupils to fulfill their potential in everything they undertake.” Academic Achievement and Personal Development were also deemed to be ‘Excellent’ across all three sections of the College. Inspectors further noted that, “Pupils have high levels of self-confidence and self-esteem combined with a courteous and friendly demeanour. They are resilient and determined to make the most of their abilities and potential.” Interested parents and pupils can visit the College, view their facilities, talk to staff, current pupils and parents at their forthcoming Open Morning, for all stages of entry, on Saturday 23rd September, from 9.30am to 1.00pm. The Value of Language Exchanges by Malcolm Pacey, Head of German, Merchant Taylors’ School
The All Party Parliamentary Group on Modern Languages declared a languages skills crisis late in 2016. Time abroad on exchange can help boost language skills and motivation for learning ...
3 8 O C TO B E R 2 0 1 7
W
henever I reveal to strangers that I teach languages to secondary students, the response I’m usually offered is one of regret that my conversation partner didn’t pursue his or her language studies past the compulsory level. Being able to speak a foreign language is one of those impressive qualities which sets one apart from the crowd, especially in the highly competitive world of university entry and beyond. Put quite simply, being able to speak a foreign language is something the majority of Brits never master to a high standard, meaning those who do are worthy of being celebrated. Language students show determination, resilience, academic grit and intercultural understanding. A language exchange can, and should, be a life-changing event. Going abroad, living with a family you’ve never met, attending a school with a significantly different routine and finding new pastimes in a new culture would be a big ask in an English-speaking environment, such as Australia or the US. Throw into this mix the fact that your every interaction needs to be in a language one is still coming to terms with and you have the makings of the kind of experience that enables your son or daughter to grow and mature in a way no other offering from your school’s list of activities and trips can. Language learning is a slow process, much like learning a musical instrument. Just like an instrument, you need short bursts of daily practice.
With this in mind, both parents and students need to be realistic about what can be achieved in the time made available. Many school exchanges these days are only a week long which, whilst they might help give context to the language and country of focus, will only do so much for fluency. The extended summer break presents an excellent opportunity for young people to go abroad for near on two months. Many schools in Germany, for example, are in session during parts of the British summer break, meaning time can be spent in school (where the bulk of language learning is most likely to occur) as well as experiencing the summer with their host-family. There’s more to gain than simply practical language skills. Exchange students soon learn to be self-reliant and independent. They need to make informed choices about whom they choose as friends, for example, and how they save or spend their money. Many parents fret over their son or daughter’s choice of language at school. My advice would simply be to do whatever you can to ensure that, whichever language they’re learning, that they have a positive experience, and come to terms with how to learn languages per se. Once you’ve started to master one, it’s easier to take on a second, or even a third. Whilst many schools offer the chance for your child to take part in a city visit (say, Berlin, Madrid or Paris), opting for either a school-based or a private language exchange programme will, by far, provide the opportunity to make real academic strides in a foreign language. You’re most definitely going to say something embarrassing and destroy an intricate ballroom dance routine for ten German couples because you have no idea what you’re doing (not that this ever happened to me!), but the language skills, self-confidence and independence that an exchange equips young people with make such small shortcomings worthwhile. I don’t have a gift. I also don’t have any German background. I simply did a three-month exchange to Hanover after Year 11. I managed it, and so will your child. www.mtsn.org.uk

,000 runners have already secured their spot in the very first half marathon to go through both the City of London and Westminster. The London Landmarks Half Marathon is a brand new, closed road charity run taking place for the first time on 25 March 2018. Public entry to the London landmarks Half Marathon has now sold out, but the aim is to raise £4 million between Tommy’s and 100 participating charities who will take the other 5,000 spots. Many charities still have space available including Tommy’s, Alzheimer’s Research UK, Cancer Research UK, Mind, Macmillan Cancer Support, Prostate Cancer UK and Make-A-Wish. In total 10,000 runners will start on Pall Mall, finish by Downing Street and have fabulous views of London’s most iconic landmarks including Big Ben, St Paul’s Cathedral, Nelson’s Column, the Gherkin, the Shard, the Tower of London and the London Eye. The event is not your average half marathon, as it will celebrate London’s ‘quirky and hidden’ history, giving participants the chance to explore the capital while running a route like no other. For example, runners will experience a ‘bowler hat send-off ’ in true London style as the race starts by the world’s oldest hat shop Lock & Co, where the bowler hat originated from in 1849. Themed cheer stations will also give runners and spectators a glimpse into London’s incredible history. From Victorian postmen to suffragettes to Roman Gladiators, runners will smile at every mile hearing the cheers from Londoners gone by. And at the finish line runners will receive their medal in style from a famous character from the city’s history such as Dick Whittington and his cat or Henry VIII. The route will be lined with London’s amazing singers, dancers, bands and musicians – entertaining you every step of the way. The event is the brainchild of baby charity Tommy’s, who have spent two and a half years developing the event to benefit the entire charity sector. With their offices based in the heart of the City, Tommy’s noticed a gap in the market, realising a central London half marathon taking in the City and all of the Capital’s landmarks did not exist. Tommy’s therefore took the decision to pursue developing and launching a new central London half marathon to benefit both themselves, and many other charities too. Tommy’s is delighted to be launching this exciting new event with the support of Westminster City Council and the City of London Corporation. Just Giving are the official fundraising partner and the event will be delivered on the day by Human Race. Lia Bowman, Director at the London Landmarks Half Marathon commented, “After 2.5 years of planning, we are so excited to bring this new event to our capital and are over the moon that public entry has sold out so quickly. We are looking forward to raising millions of pounds for charities and giving runners and spectators a day they will remember and talk about for a long time!

Regent Street will be filled with cars from the past, present and future as mouth-watering classics are put on display alongside the latest future-proof low and zero emission electric and hybrid vehicles from leading manufacturers. Held the day before the Bonhams London to Brighton Veteran Car Run supported by Hiscox, the Concours d’Elegance will see around 100 of these remarkable motoring pioneers on display. In keeping with the spirit of the event, many of the drivers and passengers will dress in period costume, reflecting the fashions of the era… fashions just like those that might have been purchased from Regent Street at the end of the 19th century. The first Regent Street Motor Show was staged in 2005 and it has now become a hugely popular must-see spectacle, attracting vast crowds keen not only to see the cars and take test drives in the latest machinery but also enjoy street entertainment from dance troupes and a motorcycle stunt team. new age of artistic defiance through their resistance of typical artistic processes and their personal interpretations of cultural mores. As an act, iconoclasm historically holds both religious and progressive connotations. However, 21st century culture has eroded the radicalism of this concept, and artists are now questioning the intrinsic nature of iconoclasm itself by scrutinizing what defines a work of art. While this group cannot be described as iconoclasts in the traditional sense of the word, they are all driven by an iconoclastic urge, which manifests itself in the intriguingly diverse and often destructive ways they produce art. A startling number of materials and techniques cohabit in one exhibition, where abstraction, figuration, creation and deconstruction combine. At a time when the very notion of iconoclasm has seemingly become mainstream, Iconoclasts brings together the work of thirteen distinct contemporary figures, seeking to examine what it means to be an iconoclast today. The London to Brighton Veteran Car Run Celebrating the history of French Motoring
T
he Bonhams London to Brighton Veteran Car Run supported by Hiscox, takes place on Sunday 5 November, providing a magnificent spectacle and offering members of the public a rare opportunity to watch more than 400 pre-1905 veteran vehicles embark upon a 60-mile journey from Hyde Park to Madeira Drive on Brighton’s seafront. In true tradition, the 2017 Run takes place on the first Sunday of November at the break of dawn, just before 7am, and commemorates the Emancipation Run of 14 November 1896, which celebrated the passing into law of the Locomotives on the Highway Act. It was this Act that raised the speed limit for ‘light locomotives’ from 4 mph to 14 mph and abolished the requirement for these vehicles to be preceded by a man on foot waving a red flag. The Locomotive Act was still widely known as the ‘Red Flag Act’ and, to mark this milestone, a red flag was symbolically ripped in half at the start of the Emancipation Run, just as it is today. In 2017, more than 120 years after the very first Run was held, the event aims to follow in the footsteps of last year’s success, which saw one of the best finish-rates to date. Year after year, the Run sees a great number of French automobiles join the comradery. In 2016, a remarkable 49 per cent of all entries were French-manufactured vehicles – and, in recognition of all the French automobiles and participants, this year the Run is celebrating French Motoring and its contributions to the industry. This year also introduces a new route. On leaving Hyde Park, the veteran cars will pass many

well-known landmarks including Buckingham Palace, Horseguards and Big Ben before crossing Westminster Bridge. Participants will then leave London via Kennington, Clapham and Morden, passing through Balham. After Morden, the revised route by-passes Sutton on the A217 to Banstead, Tadworth and Reigate before re-joining the traditional route at Redhill. From here it takes the A23 to Horley and the midway halt at Crawley. A special viewing area in Crawley High Street has been established for the thousands of spectators who turn out to support the Veteran Car Run. From Crawley, the route heads to Brighton via Pease Pottage, Staplefield, Cuckfield, Ansty, Burgess Hill, Hassocks and Clayton where it joins the A23 for the run into the finish at Madeira Drive. The new route will ensure there are plenty of fabulous viewing spots for the many thousands of spectators who line the streets to wave the veterans on their way. The Run is just one element of the Royal Automobile Club’s London Motor Week, which includes the free-to-view Regent Street Motor Show, to be held on Saturday 4 November. The Veteran Car Run is supported by Title Partner: Bonhams, Official Partners: Hiscox, Your London Airport Gatwick, Harrods, Abels, Visit Brighton, Chopard, Hagerty, Hattingley Valley, RAC Motoring Services and Total, and Manufacturer Patrons: Honda and Renault. OUT & ABOUT
The Caribbean is huge
- support affected areas, visit non-affected areas
The Caribbean is one of the most idyllic destinations on the Earth – with powder white sand beaches, crystal clear waters and a colourful and exotic culture, this destination is going from strength to strength despite what Mother Nature might throw in its way. We love the way in which each island has its own personality and a gorgeous selection of hotels to match, from the exclusive all-inclusive offering at Spice Island Beach Resort in Grenada, to the infinitely luxurious Sandy Lane in Barbados and of course the romantic decadence of Jade Mountain on the glorious island of Saint Lucia – whatever you are looking for, be it a boutique bolthole, an extravagant family escape or a luxurious honeymoon the Caribbean has something to offer for your next luxury holiday.

BEAUTY & FASHION time to sparkle There are tons of glitter lipsticks on the market, but the difference here is that it’s a liquid formula that ends up both matte and glitter. The formula is creamy and glides on easily like a gloss, then dries to a matte finish with almost no glitter visible. You’re then instructed to press your lips to unleash the sparkle. And it really works. Why? Because when the liquid dries the glitter particles are trapped beneath the surface, but by pressing your lips together they’re released, resulting in one seriously dazzling pout. A NEW YOU
A
re you struggling to eliminate stubborn pockets of fat? Or maybe you have areas of loose, sagging skin which make you feel self conscious? You are not alone; many of us lead a healthy lifestyle yet still suffer from these problems. It may be time to consider 3D Lipo, the nonsurgical alternative to liposuction.
Fat Reduction Treatments
Loved by celebrities including Amy Childs, Coleen Rooney and Patsy Kensit, the revolutionary nonsurgical 3D Lipo treatments target fat removal and skin tightening. At Rebecca Jade we offer four different options for destroying fat cells and improving the appearance of problem areas: • Cavitation and Cryolipolysis (fat freezing) for fat reduction. • Radio Frequency and HIFU for skin tightening for cellulite reduction. 6 2 O C TO B E R 2 0 1 7
“…after a couple of sessions, I actually started to notice a difference – it’s incredible! The sessions are not long or painful either, so ...I can carry on with my day without having to worry about recovering which is perfect” – Amy Childs
Non-invasive 3D Lipo Fat Removal Using the latest state-of-the-art technology these proven treatments are non-invasive and provide long-lasting results with no downtime – so you can get on with your life straight away. In this blog our 3D Lipo expert Roxy explains what to expect when you have a 3D Lipo treatment and the likely results.
3D Lipo Cryolipolysis: A Risk-Free Alternative to Liposuction
Cryolipolysis is a highly effective one-off treatment to reduce body fat. This painless procedure utilises cold air to cool fat cells to -6°c, so the cells are frozen and can no longer survive. As the treatment
“Using the latest state-of-the-art technology these proven treatments are non-invasive”
is incredibly targeted, only fat cells are affected. The destroyed fat cells are broken down and dispersed naturally by your body which then eliminates them from your system as it would normal food waste. Roxy says “This is a highly effective treatment for bingo wings, flabby stomachs and thighs. My clients see a remarkable improvement, some in as little as 3 weeks, but with most seeing changes after 2 months. The process has been described as tingly but the area usually goes numb quite quickly so there is little sensation overall.” Cryolipolysis is a risk-free alternative to liposuction and only requires one treatment as it provides permanent fat removal; however additional sessions can be booked if needed at 6 month intervals.
3D Lipo Radio Frequency For Skin Tightening
3D Lipo Cavitation Eliminates Unwanted Body Fat
Are you concerned about sagging and slackening skin? Then Radio Frequency is for you. It can treat any part of the body, including the face, dramatically tightening loose skin. Focus fractional RF energy heats the skin tissue, which in turn accelerates the production of new collagen and elastin fibres, causing a plumping effect and reducing fine lines and wrinkles. “The skin is left smoother, defined and more youthful looking. It’s perfect for ‘crow’s feet’, the forehead, upper lip, neck and sagging jowls. This skin tightening treatment is also suitable for the abdomen and arms and many clients have described the sensation as relaxing, like a warm massage” enthuses Roxy. A course of 6-8 treatments is recommended as well as ongoing maintenance to enjoy the full benefits of this remarkable procedure. “I’m absolutely loving 3D Lipo! It’s so effective and quick – what’s not to like about it?! I can see a change in my body with every treatment and I couldn’t recommend it enough.” – Patsy Kensit
“Cavitation (again using the 3D technology) can target almost any part of the body using ultrasound waves to break down fat cells. The results are instant which my clients love!” explains Roxy. The treatment harnesses ultrasound waves to target troublesome areas; bubbles are created within the cells then heat and vibrations are applied which effectively break down the fat. Similar to Cryolipolysis, the unwanted fat cells are then dispersed through your body’s normal channels. The process is painless, though you may experience a vibrating or warm feeling however all effects are harmless. “Inch loss is instant but most people see a dramatic change after 4 weeks (though everyone is different.) I recommend a course of 6 – 8 treatments and then monthly maintenance for maximum results.”
At Rebecca Jade we offer a non-surgical solution to facelifts: HIFU by 3D Lipo. The non-invasive, pain-free technique expertly tightens, tones and lifts areas of the face for a younger-looking complexion. Highly focused energy penetrates the skin kick-starting collagen production for a plumped up, smoother surface. Your skin is rejuvenated and noticeably firmer. “This is the ideal treatment for those seeking to tighten particular areas such as the brow, jowls and laughter lines,” says Roxy. “It reduces wrinkles and contours the face for beautiful results. It’s definitely one of our most sought after anti-ageing treatments.” For more information regarding 3D Lipo or to book a complimentary consultation with one of our specialists please call our friendly team 01582 280078.

LYDIA BRIGHT’S
MAKE-UP MUST-HAVES
Want to get glam like the TOWIE beauty? These are the make-up essentials Lydia can’t live without. WORDS: Katie Wright
“S
hould you ever stumble upon one of my early TOWIE episodes you’ll rightly argue that make-up wasn’t my forte,” admits Lydia Bright. “I didn’t have a clue what I was doing. In fact, ‘contouring’ was a word I would have associated with my dad’s tiling company, not my cheekbones.” But she’s come a long way since debuting on The Only Way is Essex in 2010, and now Lydia is nothing short of a beauty icon, with her nearly 2 million followers on Instagram and Twitter regularly asking for hair and make-up advice whenever the blonde beauty posts a particularly stunning selfie. “Thanks to TOWIE I’ve been given the ultimate privilege - one-to-one sessions with some of the industry’s most incredible and experienced make-up artists,” she says. “And over the year’s I’ve fortunately learned some amazing techniques from the best in the business.”
6 4 O C TO B E R 2 0 1 7
The good news is the 27-year-old is more than happy to share the skills she’s picked up from the pros. Here, Lydia spills on the five make-up products she uses to get glam every day.
1. Nars Sheer Glow Foundation “Over the years, I’ve tried so many different foundations and I think you just have to find one that really fits. It’s the best one for me because it’s just the right amount of coverage - it covers my spots, but not too much that it covers my freckles, because I like to show my freckles. Also, it’s quite a matte finish and I prefer that.” £32, narscosmetics.co.uk
2. Urban Decay Naked Heat Eyeshadow Palette “I love eyeshadow, especially if you’re going out in the evening. I love putting oranges and browns on my eyes because they make my eyes look bluer.” £39.50, urbandecay. co.uk
3. Lord & Berry Back in Black Mascara “I love the wand. It makes your lashes really long and thick and it doesn’t clump.” £14, AllBeauty.com
4. Kiko Invisible Touch Face Fixing Powder “This is great at setting your make-up and getting it to a really nice matte finish and it’s colourless and looks like a talc, so when you put it on, it’s not going to change the shade of your foundation. It’s a really good one.” £10.30, kikocosmetics.com
5. PapayaGold Paw Paw Moisturising Balm
“Thanks to TOWIE I’ve been given the ultimate privilege - one-to-one sessions with some of the industry’s most incredible and experienced make-up artists”
“This is an Australian brand which comes in a red tube. It’s for burns, but it’s also really good as a lip balm. I really suffer with dry skin and cracked lips and this is like a super intensive Vaseline lip balm. It’s really oily and feels lovely and if you put enough on it also acts as a lip gloss.” £5.99, Boots Read more make-up and beauty tips in Live, Laugh, Love, Always, Lydia by Lydia Bright, published by Orion Spring, priced £16.99. Your face is in the safest hands…. Meet Dr Ravi Jain and read about the changing face of the aesthetics industry and his valuable advice for those who are thinking about taking the first steps into more advances anti-ageing treatments and care.
D
r Jain opened Riverbanks Wellness Clinics in Harpenden in 2008. Specialising in aesthetic medicine for the face and body, the Dr Jain is a global expert on aesthetic consultation and pioneer of the acclaimed “Harmony Consultation”, the benchmark system to enhance and regulate patient satisfaction. With his most recent trips to Australia, New Zealand, Italy and Paris, Dr Ravi Jain regularly travels internationally, training and lecturing 1000’s of clinicians on delivering natural looking results with the minimum amount of treatments. Dr Ravi Jain leads an esteemed medical team at Riverbanks Wellness which launched in 2008 and has accumulated 5 aesthetic medicine awards along the way. Riverbanks Wellness is registered with the Care Quality Commission and has been voted Best Clinic in the UK on several occasions.
The ethical approach to natural age reversal and healthy skin. A clear preference for natural-looking results has emerged within the cosmetic beauty industry, with both practitioners and patients advocating the benefits of subtle enhancement. “Patients are seeking extremely natural-looking, almost invisible results” explains Dr Ravi Jain who is at the forefront of the movement and has pioneered the Invisible Aesthetics® method to achieve elusive enhancement while embracing a holistic and ethical approach to procedures. Increasingly, patients want to have non-invasive procedures to get ahead in business, feel fresher and more confident - quick-fixes can, and do, ignite embarrassing discussions amongst friends, family and colleagues. Dr Jain believes that no one should be able to guess that you’ve had aesthetic work at all, but they’ll certainly see that you look healthier. “The measure of change should be when someone looks back at an old photo and spots the difference
6 6 O C TO B E R 2 0 1 7
at that point, not the other way around”. Taking the first step into aesthetic procedures can be scary and is a very personal decision. Dr Ravi Jain has compiled a few important questions that should be addressed to help you on your way to younger, healthier you. Why have I made this decision right at this moment? This is one of the first questions I ask new clients. Why have you decided to come to see me today? The answer could be because of a special occasion coming up, or for no reason in particular and it just feels the right time to take that first step. Perhaps you maybe in need of a boost for a variety of reasons. By asking this question I can understand your reasons and it will set expectations in terms of what treatments are available and suitable for you. Simple questions such as this helps build the foundations to understand you more and to build a long-term skin plan with you. What results am I expecting from this treatment direction? Are you being realistic in your perceptions of the effect after the procedure? Do you want to feel fresher or to look several years younger? Do you want to change or enhance a feature? When using injectables correctly, it does not mean you will look
“Do you want to feel fresher or to look several years younger? Do you want to change or enhance a feature?”
dramatically different, and so by setting realistic expectations before the procedure, it creates a trust and honest relationship with your practitioner from the get go. Do I fully understand the treatment? Most of my clients, even the ones who have had fillers previously, do not realise that there are different forms of filler. The safest dermal fillers are made of hyaluronic acid and come in a whole array of preparations and strengths with degrees of firmness and softness and with different consistencies for lifting and blending abilities. For example, there are different types to lift the cheekbone or emphasise the chin, and another to get rid of a crease or super fine line, and others to simply boost the hydration levels in the skin and stimulate collagen. Not one filler does everything. To get the most natural effect you have to use a variety to treat the various skins of skin ageing. Am I aware of any side effects? Thankfully there are very few serious risks. Side effects with Botox injections are rare, if any, and even minimal effects such as bruising with fillers only affects 1 in 20. Allergic reactions and infection are now so uncommon due to the new modern formulas. However. To drive the point forwards. You must go to a medical professional. If injections are administered incorrectly, the worst-case scenario could be blindness. This is caused when a small amount of filler is injected into or around a blood vessel that then blocks the blood supply to the eye. To go to an experienced medical professional is the only way to minimise these risks. Will, I look older if I decide not to continue the appointments? This is a common question when I first see a patient. The answer is absolutely not. If you have only had one or two treatments, then the worst is that you will just look as you did before the treatment. However. If you have been having treatments over 2- 3 years or longer, then you should look younger than you did before you started. The treatments will have helped to permanently rejuvenate your skin over time. How much money do I need to invest for the best results? Should I be looking at these treatments as regular financial addition to my routine. Ageing is inevitable and we are all getting older therefore there is no one-off treatment that freezes time forever. Our signs of ageing develop continually and present themselves as concerns such as wrinkles, pigmentation changes, loss of elasticity and thinning of tissues such as skin, fat, muscle and bone. There are different types of treatments to address each one of these issues. Botox style treatments are for excessive wrinkles and dermal fillers for tissue thinning and fatty volume loss.
BEFORE
It is true that one treatment of any one of these may give dramatic results, but anyone interested in improving their overall skin health and appearance need to consider an on-going commitment with regular maintenance treatments. Botox style treatments should be repeated every 3 – 4 months for longer term and natural looking results (this doesn’t mean one has to be frozen indefinitely because this usually indicates excessive treatment), Dermal fillers to be repeated every 6- 12 month. On each appointment, you may not always need treatment on the same areas because different parts of the face age at different rates so the overall goal should be to deliver optimal skin health, with natural results. Are the treatments addictive? Medically speaking, the ingredients used are nonaddictive. However, as with any experience you enjoy and that makes you feel great, you want to repeat it. Studies have shown that there are long term psychological benefits when your skin looks its best resulting in improved mood and wellbeing. This feeling is similar to how you feel after a visit to the hairdressers or if you bought a new luxury item longer duration of satisfaction and improved wellness. How do I choose my practitioner? This is very difficult for those who have not got recommendations from friends. We have all been victims to effective marketing and this doesn’t mean the most visible practice is the best. I suggest you choose someone whose work you like, and by talking to friends you know who have had treatments and who look the most natural. It is also not just about the aesthetics. Also find out how they feel after the treatment. Lastly, make sure they are qualified. Practitioners including the Doctors and nurses should be members of the British College of Aesthetic Medicine or The British Association of Cosmetic Nurses. Then create a shortlist and arrange to meet 1-3 of them before you choose to go ahead. Always follow your gut instinct at the initial meeting and if you need further help, then websites such as www.realself.com and www.consultingroom.com are great learning tools as they are independent review sites.

Getting your wardrobe ready for Autumn
A
s we move into Autumn, it’s out with the old and in with the new with promises of a new season filled with style. But going from one season to another is never easy work. No matter the size of your wardrobe, it will never be big enough to accommodate every item you have. You cannot hang Winter coats next to Summer dresses as you will never be able to see what you have tucked away inside. Now is the perfect time of year to assess how your Autumn/Winter wardrobe is looking and store away your Summer clothes. It’s time to detox your wardrobe and here are five steps on how to get organised for Autumn.
1. ORGANISATION IS KEY You need to be able to see everything you have in your wardrobe otherwise you will just never wear it. Hang up the important pieces, so you can see the best bits every day. Fold your jeans and stack them so you can see each one, and purge your t-shirt drawer.
2. STORAGE IS IMPORTANT Firstly, make a separate pile for things that aren’t seasonally appropriate anymore and store them until it starts to get warmer. Be ruthless, if you didn’t wear an item at all last year, get rid of it. Then put the remaining pieces in storage boxes where they will not be cluttering up your wardrobe.
3. THE DETOX Start by removing the clothes that are stained, ripped, or faded beyond recognition. Get rid of clothes that don’t fit once and for all. Try everything on, that way you know it fits you and your body shape. Reassess all trend purchases and start building your own style from timeless pieces and clothing that suits your style personality. Lastly, try experimenting with less clothes in your wardrobe, 6 8 O C TO B E R 2 0 1 7
you will be surprised how much you wear and love the items you have left yourself with.
4. WHAT DO TO WITH THE CLOTHES YOU DON’T WEAR Make separate mini mountains for family and friends, for charity and for resale. Categorising the items you want to purge from your wardrobe is a great way to keep the process simple.
5. FILLING THE GAPS Now you can see what you have in your wardrobe and you can identify any gaps that you need to fill to pull outfits together. Make a shopping list and stick to it. If you often spend money on things you don’t end up wearing then shop smarter. Before buying a piece refer back to your list and be honest with yourself on whether you will actually wear it or not. If you do bring the item home, if after one week you haven’t worn it, take it back to the shop before your refund expires. For more tips on wardrobe de-cluttering then visit Nina’s website - www.edits-styling.com/ blog or to book a wardrobe detox appointment email nina@edits-styling.com.

NEW LIPSTICKS FOR AUTUMN Pucker up with our pick of the best new lippies. WORDS: Katie Wright
N
ew season fashion drops aren’t the only reason to get excited this time of year – the autumn/winter make-up collections will be landing in stores, too, bringing with them a boatload of lipsticks we think you’re going to love. Whether you’re a glossy girl or an all-matte-everything type, there’s a shade and shine level for you. From barely-there buffs to uber-brights, we’ve rounded up the lippies vying for a place in your make-up bag -– and your heart – this autumn. Smashbox Be Legendary Triple Tone Lipstick Red Ombre Take the shortcut to an ombre lip with Smashbox’s clever triple-stacked stick. The technique takes a bit of getting used to (you have to turn it upside down to do the lower lip) and you’ll need a liner that matches the outermost shade to get a really clean outline, but the effect is gorgeous, and it’s still a whole lot easier than painting on three separate colours. £17.50, smashbox.co.uk Bourjois Rouge Velvet The Lipstick Rubik’s Cute Matte liquid lipsticks can sometimes feel thick and caked on, but this new solid formula from Bourjois is lightweight without compromising on colour payoff. Love a blue-toned red? Rubik’s Cute (see what they’ve done there?) is the hue to choose. £8.99, Boots MAC Viva Glam Taraji P Henson 2 Lipstick The next iteration of the link-up between MAC and the American actress and writer brings us a gorgeous golden-mahogany lipstick with a subtle metallic sheen. £16.50, maccosmetics.co.uk Nars Audacious Lipstick Louise New to the Audacious Lipstick line-up for autumn are six punchy and pigmented shades, including Louise, a deep opaque blackberry. £25, narscosmetics.co.uk Ainsel Sarong Lipstick New brand Ainsel wants you to forgo trends and find your perfect make-up staples instead, which is why its eight inaugural lipsticks are all classic shades, like Sarong, an uber-bright red with orange undertones. £19.50, ainsel.com RMK Irresistible Glow Lipstick Sheer Beige Part of a collaboration with Japanese designer Taro Horiuchi to mark the brand’s 20th anniversary, this light, pearly-coral gloss is a real complexion-lifter. £22, Selfridges

Too Faced Melted Latex Liquified Lipstick Safe Word If it’s shine you’re after, it doesn’t get much glossier than this. Too Faced’s wet-look latex lippie comes in 16 succulent shades. Pinkishbrown Oh Bae is our new daytime favourite. £16, FeelUnique.com Mary Kay Gel Semi-Shine Lipstick Naturally Buff Imparting a subtle sheen rather than all-out dazzle, Mary Kay’s Semi-Shine lipsticks come in 12 pinky shades, ideal if you want that ‘your lips but better’ vibe. £14, marykay.co.uk Glamglow Plumprageous Metallic Lip Plumper Treatment Suggestive With plumping properties and a metallic finish, Glamglow’s new liquid lippie promises a Kylie Jenner-level pout - and it really delivers. SALON TRENDS AT ATELIER A
unique salon experience is at the heart of Atelier Hairdressing and Beauty Rooms in Redbourn, St Albans, thanks to its charmingly restored character from its former life as a public house, The Saracens Head. Noted for its expertise in colour specialism, the salon offers excellent standards of both haircutting and finishing, while also having built a solid reputation for a growing number of beauty therapy treatments and experiences. While we stroll into autumn, we asked Karen Hyam, co-owner and colour lead at the awardrecognised salon, to tell us about the latest trending colour services:
Balayage
This trend shows no sign of disappearing. The reason for its appeal is that it’s a versatile, lowmaintenance, colour choice that looks great combined with those natural tones of honey, caramel and creamy blondes. Balayage can be combined with some cleverly placed face framing hi-lights which is another big trend for autumn/winter, flattering most haircuts and giving clients a bespoke colour result, both lifting and brightening the skin tone for the cooler months ahead. Here at Atelier we offer a colour blending technique that combines a root smudging service with either hi-lights or balayage that gives a lowmaintenance, sexy undone colour result.
Ice White Queen
By white we mean those beautifully clear platinum and silvery shades that look so fresh. The fashionable will rock this trend easily this autumn/
winter. The tone looks great against darker skin tones for the ultimate contrast or alongside the paler for that gorgeous Nordic look. Word of warning though, this colour is not for the fainthearted in terms of maintenance. Another great thing about this colour choice is it can allow the wearer a great base to experiment from with the ultra trendy pastel hues.
Apricot
Apricot is set to become a big trend for 2018. Whether you choose more of a rose gold or a punchy peach, there is an apricot tone for most of us. Like with all reds, this tone does require looking after and a colour-safe shampoo and conditioner is the best way to do this at home. Do ask for recommendations for professional hair care to give your colour investment the best chance of longevity. Be ahead of the pack this autumn/winter and consult your colourist about the newest trend on the block this year - Apricot.
Colourful Hair
What about the more unnatural hues and the perfect pastels? Well if it’s good enough for the supermodels, it’s definitely a trend we want to try going into 2018. Both Cara Delevigne and Gigi Hadid have been spotted rocking this trend of bright and beautiful hair. Again this trend is one of the more highermaintenance looks but with all the exciting new tones around the season of charcoal, sage, mauve and raspberry, who cares? THE HISTORY OF Following the recent announcement that Michael Kors has bought the luxury accessories brand for £896m - we take a look back at the history of Jimmy Choo, rising from humble origins in a cobbler workshop to becoming one of Britain’s best-known fashion brands.
2017 Bridal Collection’ Below: Mens Autumn Winter 2017 Collection; Right: Jimmy Choo
Y
ou can trace its roots back to a bespoke shoemaker, Jimmy Choo, based in the East End of London in the early 1990s. The fashion designer was born Jimmy Choo Yeang Keat in Penang, Malaysia in 1961, and using the craftsmanship he learned from his father, also a cobbler, Choo made his first pair of shoes at the age of just 11. His father wanted him to follow in his footsteps. Mr Choo recalls “When I first started, my father wouldn’t let me make a shoe. Instead, he said: “Sit and watch, sit and watch.” For months and months, I did that.” After learning from his father about the craft of shoemaking, Choo made his way to England in the early 1980s to study at the Cordwainers Technical College in Hackney, where he graduated with honours in 1983. Choosing to remain in England, Choo opened his first shop in Hackney in 1986 in an old hospital building. It didn’t take long for Choo’s reputation to build. The sexy cut, fashionable design, and exceptional Italian craftsmanship struck a chord with a sophisticated clientele, and the first collection enjoyed 7 6 O C TO B E R 2 0 1 7
immediate success. Jimmy Choo was among the first to bring shoes and handbags to Hollywood where the red carpet proved to be the ideal runway for the brand. Soon, Choo became the darling of the celebrity world, in particular Princess Diana, who donned Choo’s footwear seemingly everywhere she went. High-profile devotees also include the Duchess of Cambridge, Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce and Kendal Jenner. The fictional Carrie Bradshaw in television series “Sex and the City.” famously sported Jimmy Choo shoes, boosting the brand’s status. Within two years of opening his shop, Choo’s shoes were featured in an eight-page spread in Vogue magazine. And it was his relationship with Vogue that would prove to be instrumental in the rise of the Jimmy Choo brand. Despite the rise of his popularity, Choo was still a small operation, making just 20 hand-made pairs shoes a week. But Tamara Mellon, an accessories editor at Vogue, who often hired Choo to make shoes for fashion shoots, sensed a larger market for Choo’s creations. She approached the shoemaker about partnering to create a line of ready-to-wear footwear -
“It’s a beautiful, distinctive art, and shoes are like the foundations. If the foundations aren’t right, the building won’t stand upright, and if a woman’s balance isn’t right, nothing else is.” - Jimmy Choo

JIMMY CHOO with a goal of creating a global luxury business. In 1996, both Choo and Mellon quickly grew the business, keeping the focus on creating high-end footwear, but no longer relying on the idea that every single pair had to be made by Choo himself. They contracted with Italian factories and opened their first boutique shop in Motcomb Street, London. Two years later, the company expanded to the US, securing locations in the premiere luxury shopping destinations of the world’s most prestigious cities including Madison Avenue in New York City and Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, also creating a line-up of adoring Hollywood celebrities including Julia Roberts and Renee Zellweger. International expansion continued with Jimmy Choo stores opening in Avenue Montaigne in Paris, Via Condotti in Rome, Ginza in Tokyo, and prestigious shopping districts Sloane Street and Bond Street here in London. And by the turn of the century, the Choo name was a global brand, with high-end retail clients that included Harrods and Saks Fifth Avenue carrying Choo footwear. The Choo brand had also expanded to handbags and other accessories. But in the background, all was not well. Choo and Mellon were at odds about the direction of the company. In what would become one of the more fascinating rifts in the fashion industry, Choo didn’t think bigger was better. He questioned the quality of the shoes the company was making, and seemed to long for the days when he was back at his shop in Hackney making a small number of pieces of footwear for specific clients. In 2001, Choo sold his half of the company to Robert Bensoussan of Equinox Luxury Holdings for $30 million. Jimmy Choo was then put up for sale in April after struggling to retain the status it held in the early 2000’s. Both Choo and Mellon departed in 2011 when JAB Luxury bought the firm for more than £500m. Today, Jimmy Choo encompasses a complete luxury accessories brand. Women’s shoes remain the core of the product offer, alongside handbags, small leather goods, scarves, sunglasses, eyewear, belts, fragrance and men’s shoes. Jimmy Choo has a global store network encompassing more than 150 stores and is present in the most prestigious department stores worldwide. This is what makes Jimmy Choo an interesting pairing with Michael Kors, as the former is known for its sky-high stilettos and glam, crystal-embellished designs, while the latter gravitates towards down-toearth leather goods and ready-to-wear. Jimmy himself now concentrates on a very personal business, where he designs directly for clients in high-end couture. Jimmy Choo was awarded an OBE in 2002, and girls and women around the world continue to covet owning a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes! www.jimmychoo.com

dored by the A-list (Simon Cowell, Rita Ora and Cara Delevingne are said to be serious celebrity fans), Vitamin IV Infusions are an easy, effective way of delivering vitamins, minerals and amino acids directly and immediately into your bloodstream via an IV (intravenous) drip. Due to popular demand, Courthouse Clinics is now offering Vitamin IV Infusions at a selection of clinics across the group, including Watford, courtesy of Advanced Nurse Prescriber Lucy O’Neill. Nurse Lucy is a highly qualified but very approachable medical practitioner, with 12 years’ extensive experience in the field of anti-ageing aesthetics and wellbeing. She prides herself on building a strong rapport with patients, helping them to look and feel great, from the inside out. Just as importantly, Lucy practices what she preaches: it was her own positive experience of Vitamin IV Infusions that prompted her to add them to her treatment portfolio. “I first learned
“Nurse Lucy is a highly qualified but very approachable medical practitioner, with 12 years’ extensive experience in the field of anti-ageing” about Infusions when I was feeling run down with no energy,” she explains. “I felt so much better mentally and physically after trying them, I wanted to give my patients the same benefits I experienced. And the reception so far has been brilliant. I get such great feedback from my patients afterwards – it makes my work really rewarding.” So what exactly do Vitamin IV Infusions achieve? The precise treatment effects vary depending on the patient, but in general terms they can boost wellbeing, increase energy levels, lift your mood and hydrate your body. We all know that vitamins are essential for normal growth and staying healthy, yet our bodies can’t produce all of the nutrients we need to function and thrive, which is why more than one in three people take daily vitamin supplements. What’s less well known is that only 15% of the active ingredients consumed orally actually find their way into the bloodstream. That’s not the case with Vitamin IV Infusions, which deliver their benefits straight to your cells. Courthouse Clinics offers a selection of different Vitamin IV Infusions, which allows patients to select the best combination for their personal needs. The infusion process itself is painless, and takes just 30 minutes. For optimum results, a course of Vitamin IV Infusions is recommended, followed by monthly maintenance treatments. Interested? Vitamin IV Infusions are now available at Courthouse Clinics Watford (34 The Avenue, Watford, Hertfordshire, WD17 4NS). Call 01923 242565 for more information and to book. 7 8 O C TO B E R 2 0 1 7

SELF CHECKS STILL MOST POWERFUL WEAPON IN BATTLE AGAINST BREAST CANCER MISS HARLEEN DEOL
T
here are three main risk factors when it comes to developing breast cancer unfortunately there is very little you can actually do about any of them! However, regular self-checks and an awareness of what to look out for can help keep the number of successful for breast cancer treatments on the rise, said Miss Harleen Deol, a Consultant Breast Surgeon at Spire Harpenden Hospital. “The main risk is, unsurprisingly, being a woman,” she explained. “Over 99% of new cases of breast cancer are in women and there isn’t much you can do about that! The second is biggest risk is getting older - more than 80% of breast cancers occur in women over the age of 50 and the third is significant family history – although this isn’t as common as some may think, with around 5% of people diagnosed with breast cancer having inherited a faulty BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene.” But Miss Deol stressed that regular checks and early action are still the biggest weapons in a woman’s armoury when it comes to beating the disease and help keep treatment success figures on the rise. Figures from Cancer Research UK show that

Having qualified as a doctor from Barts and the Royal London in 1997, Miss Harleen Deol became the first woman to enter the Royal London Hospital General Surgical Rotation in over 20 years. around 8 out of 10 women in England survive their disease for ten years or more, compared with 4 out of 10 back in the 1970s. Figures for surviving for five years or more are even higher at almost nine out of ten – 87%. Despite increasing survival rates CRUK says that about 60,000 people in the UK are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer every year, resulting in around 12,000 deaths. “Without any doubt early detection leads to better treatment results. That means we need to ensure that every woman knows how to carry out effective selfcheck procedures and, just as importantly, what to do if she thinks something is wrong. “It is important to get an early appointment with a GP to discuss the matter. The patient will then receive informed advice and, if necessary, be placed on the correct pathway for treatment,” said Miss Deol. Possible symptoms that can be found by self-examination: • Painless lumps in the breast • Changes in the size or shape of a breast • Dimpling to the skin of the breast • Thickened breast tissue • Nipple inversion • Lump or thickening behind the nipple • Rash affecting the nipple • Blood-stained discharge from the nipple • Swelling or a new lump in the armpit • Clear nipple discharge coming from one side. Although finding a lump in your breast does not always signify breast cancer it is important that women ‘got to know’ their breasts so they could spot changes. “Many women will experience lumpy breasts just before their period; often this disappears after the period. However, it is important to keep checking and if the lump doesn’t go away then get it checked out by your GP,” said Miss Deol.

Hazlemere Windows Assist On DIY SOS Big Build Project
O
ne day about 5 years ago Midwife Sascha Koutrouza came home to her home in Welwyn Garden City with a throat infection that sadly changed everything in her life forever. Doctors believe the throat infection caused her immune system to overrespond, leaving her with permanent kidney disease. She was reassured that it would be decades before she needed treatment, but unfortunately Sascha’s symptoms grew rapidly. In just six months, Sascha had final stage kidney disease requiring hospital dialysis at least 4 days a week. Family weekends for Sascha were spent feeling sick and exhausted. She kept on going for the sake of her family – never complaining; but they were reaching all at the point of breaking and were naturally concerned for her future. The main hope was home dialysis – but this hope was dashed when she was told there wasn’t the space at home for this to happen. Mr Andrew Koutrouza and the extended family simply could

not afford the extension, which is when DIY SOS got involved: A single-storey extension would create the space needed for the NHS to provide an ‘athome’ (specific to Sascha’s type of kidney treatment) dialysis system for daily home treatment. The build would turn everything around for this family and mark a vital step in Sascha regaining her life.
THE DETAILS To view the same UPVC window products supplied and fitted by Hazlemere during this programme, visit one of their home improvement showrooms. The Hertfordshire Showroom is located at Unit 10 Mundells Industrial Estate, Little Mundells, Welwyn Garden City, Herts, AL7 1EW.
The BBC put out an appeal on Facebook for tradesmen and materials, and given Hazlemere Windows have a showroom in Welwyn Garden City, they decided they would supply and fit all the new and replacement windows and doors needed on the project. So for one whole week last year four of Hazlemere’s most experienced craftsmen gave up a week of their time to install new windows and doors. The Hazlemere team consisted of Senior Installer John Layton, Installation Manager Alan Layton, Operations Director Jason Bradshaw and Fitter Michal Kowalczyk. These guys worked alongside DIY SOS presenter Nick Knowles, along with series regulars Mark Miller, Chris Frediani, Julian Perryman and Billy Byrne from 23rd August 2016 to 1st September 2016, The team from Hazlemere Window Company worked their socks off throughout the entire Big Build week, fitting new windows and doors, whether as replacement windows and doors or new windows and doors into new builders openings. Thanks to the generosity of aluminium and PVCu window and door manufacturers, Conservatory Outlet of Wakefield in Yorkshire, and double glazed sealed unit manufacturers Nicholls and Clarke of Fareham in Hampshire, Hazlemere Window Company were able to procure the glass, window and door frames from these suppliers at cost, which meant they were able to donate all the products and their labour free of charge to the Welwyn Garden City family in need, being helped out by DIY SOS to give them a brighter future. Consequently, Hazlemere sincerely thank both the Conservatory Outlet and Nicholls and Clarke for playing no small part in enabling the lives of this needy family to be transformed. As part of the transformation project, Hazlemere Windows were asked to survey, supply and install white A+ energy rated PVCu double glazed windows throughout the house and also in the new extension that was built by the DIY SOS
team and all the other tradesmen, and suppliers who had also given their time and resources to the cause. In addition Hazlemere supplied and fitted a double glazed aluminium bi-folding door to the extension built by the DIY SOS team, enabling Sascha’s family to open up her new living space, as and when the weather allows! The DIY SOS programme, showing how this Hertfordshire home in the Knightsfield area of Wewlyn Garden City was totally transformed was first broadcast live by the BBC 1 at 9pm on Thursday 15th June 2017.
The Buckinghamshire Showroom is located in Wellington Road, Cressex Business Park, High Wycombe, Bucks, HP12 3PR. For directions call 01727 238658 or visit www.hazlemere.co.uk

EMPTY NESTING? – ITS TIME FOR A MOVE
S
o the last of your offspring has now finally moved out – and reluctantly you have taken down the bunting. Your current home is definitely surplus to requirements – more to dust and heat, and that second floor barely gets visited now the au pair is no longer required – but you are certainly not ready for the ‘flat’ move. Sounds familiar? Well, here is the perfect – and I mean, the perfect – solution... A newly constructed, beautifully and luxuriously appointed bungalow, quietly positioned in a prime location just a short stroll to Battlers Green Farm Shopping Village, and easy access to the local cafes, shops and Thameslink station at Radlett. For those of you who are already dismissing the idea because ‘I would not want a bedroom on the ground floor’ – well, please do not worry, because this outstanding and truly magnificent property has provided an alternative; boasting two master bedroom suites - you can chose either the ground floor with bespoke ensuite dressing room and luxury bathroom, or the first floor, with walk-thru dressing room leading to spacious ensuite shower room, and a small storage room for your suitcases and winter coats! Both, by the way, are fitted with full ranges of stunning wardrobes and drawers by
Neatsmith, and the bathrooms are kitted out by Porcelanosa. Now that we’ve whetted your appetite with the flexibility of living choices mentioned so far, you may wish to investigate the host of other redeeming features that this cleverly designed property has to offer. Well firstly, it has attained the name ‘Skyhall’ due to the double height atrium style hallway with skylight, enhanced by the supersized LED ‘golf ball’ chandelier suspended from on high. Then there is the superbly appointed spectacular reception room that spans the entire width of the rear of the property, and will easily contain all your large sofas and coffee tables, not to mention your extending dining table with perhaps a dozen chairs – so no need to downsize here, or cease your grand entertaining – just in case you were worried! However, wouldn’t it be lovely to have a spanking new bespoke fully fitted Cococucine kitchen/breakfast room? Just think, the latest high gloss units in soft grey and contrasting wood, offset by beautiful stone work surfaces, with two double ovens and warming drawers, as well as all the other new Siemens and Miele appliances, and finally, that central island with induction hob that you always fancied?
So you’ve got the choice of a ground or first floor luxury bedroom suite, a brand new designer fully fitted kitchen with utility leading off, a jaw dropping double width reception room with two sets of French doors and window to the rear – but is this going to be enough, I hear you question. Probably not, so to be on the safe side, the sensibly planned layout also provides a very well proportioned third bedroom/TV room/Study to the front of the ground floor, as well as a deep storage cupboard and a large cloakroom/shower room, both of which are located off the hallway. Now you have the best of all worlds. Not the flat move. Strictly speaking, not a one level bungalow – but a brand new, spacious and airy, newly constructed property, complete with underfoot heating, air conditioning, luxury carpets, comprehensive security, and a wealth of stateof-the-art lifestyle enhancing audio, media, and communication systems. Oh, and did I mention this exquisite property is detached, has forecourt parking for several vehicles, and a beautifully landscaped, 120’ south facing and secluded rear garden? No? Well I reckon that’s clinched it. Price £1,950,000

O
nce an investment niche, luxury property is now a rapidly growing market with recent data from Christies International Real Estate revealing the world’s top ten reported property sales were all priced above $100 million for the first time in the year to May 2017. Riding the wave of excitement surrounding this emerging market, the Luxury Property Show returns to London Olympia this Autumn – headed by ever-knowledgeable Director Eddie Sikora. The show, now in its 11th year, will play host to more than 50 exhibitors from around the world presenting investors with opportunities ranging from Mediterranean villas to beachside apartments in Thailand via alpine retreats in Northern Europe to luxury lofts in New York. The exhibitors and sponsors list is long and distinguished as usual, and includes St James Place Wealth Management, Remax, Almanzora, Baker Woods, Mansion Global, Yamaha Music, Corcoran Group, Prime Properties, the International Property Awards and many more. Alongside a wide range of exhibitors and stands the show also includes an in-depth schedule of seminars offering real world investment advice for investors ranging from those exploring the market for the first time, to seasoned professionals with global portfolios. The seminars will tackle key questions around the market including where to find the next global property hotspot to how to mitigate political risk and uncertainty. Among those delivering seminars are key industry figures and property funds. Commenting ahead of the show, Eddie Sikora, Director of the show said: “Investing in property

has always been a good option and, over the longterm, property investments continue to outperform other asset classes. With many domestic markets saturated however, and housing becoming an increasingly political concern, investors now are looking globally and focusing attention on the more exclusive end of the market – which carries less risk and where returns can be greater. Our show at the Olympia has gone from strength to strength on the back of this trend and we expect this year to be our biggest yet, bring investors and opportunities together to explore the potential of this market.” For further information about the show, visit http://www.theluxurypropertyshow.com
