ne of road cycling’s toughest races has become even tougher with Red Bull Timelaps, the world’s only 25-hour bike race, introducing a solo category for 2019. Returning for a third year across the 26th and 27th of October, 1,000 riders will either compete solo or as part of a team of four on a custom 6.6km closed circuit at Windsor Great Park with the aim to complete as many laps as possible. With leaves beginning to fall and burnished amber colours emerging, thoughts are slowly turning towards autumn, a season of crispy crunchy walks, lengthening shadows and wrapping up warm. Claremont has had a long tradition of Halloween activities during October half term. The garden really comes into its own, with thick piles of leaves to jump in and plenty of autumnal walks to go on. Dogs are allowed back into the garden from October onwards, so you can bring the whole family along for a visit. You are invited to join the Kids for Kids Executive Fly-Fishing Day on 12th October in Surrey, and help them transform the lives of children in Darfur. Sudan is a country that is in turmoil with shortages of even the most basic essentials. The Fishing Day is at Park Lake, Albury, the private lake owned by the Duke of Northumberland. This is a really special day loved by experienced fishermen who get a chance to fish on this special lake and it is also a chance for total beginners to have a go too. You will be taught by fully qualified fly-fishing instructors who will show you how to cast a fly to catch that prince of fish, the wonderful trout! For those who have fished before, this is a chance to improve your technique with their help. Taking home a fish, eaten fresh from the water, is like no other and you will know that it has lived well, not in overcrowded waters fed hormones to keep it healthy.

“The infamous ‘Power Hour’, held between 2 am and 3 am when the clocks go back, will again give riders the chance to count one lap as two, adding to the importance of strategy throughout a long day in the saddle”

U25 from Northamptonshire were crowned male champions for the second year in a row. They finished with an astonishing 146 laps after 25 hours of racing. A strong Power Hour ride, in which they completed eight laps proved critical to wrapping up the win ahead of their club mates Team Velo Elite RC (145 laps) and rivals Team Walrus (125 Laps). Team Walrus included Team Katusha–Alpecin rider and current British time trial champion Alex Dowsett who completed the fastest lap on the main course in 8:42:03. Specialised Women’s team were the overall winners in the female race, they dominated the field early on and won with 118 laps, two more than Spokes BPC Racing who finished in 2nd place. It was Specialised Women’s team’s first time at the event and they completed six Power Hour laps, with the fastest time of 07:43. The event will once again be held at the beautiful Windsor Great Park. The park’s well-surfaced, undulating and traffic-free roads will provide the perfect location for the race.

We have new homewares, fashion

accessories and gifts to pop colour and warmth everywhere “ Lavender Goose is one of those stores where stock changes quickly so you see something new whenever you visit. With a reputation for affordable knitwear savvy customers snap up pieces as soon as they hit the shelves. The tempting palettes of warm pinks, soft creams and (nearly fifty) shades of grey are perfect transitions but there are also earthy russet tones and winter brights. Key trends for A/W are evident not just in fashion but in home décor. Eat Game Awards 2019

Game-on ladies show how it’s done with shooting master classes and sumptuous lunch to celebrate the

game chips for main, recommended by food author Clodagh McKenna. The informative and fun event was to celebrate the launch of the Eat Game Awards, which are an important way to rally the nation to support and champion the innovators, creators and revolutionaries in the game world. The Royal Berkshire Shooting School – the finest in the country - was a fitting backdrop. Game is a sustainable, tasty, free range meat and with 72% of Brits currently not eating game, the

Award winning chef Sally Abé shares her declicious game recipes Faggots in a prune sauce Ingredients 1kg venison meat 1kg pork mince 400g lardo 600g chopped livers 300g prunes, chopped 250g onion confit 200g panko breadcrumbs 150g bacon, 2 cloves garlic, microplaned 6g black pepper 25g salt 1 tsp Mace Caul fat

Method 1. Clean and prep livers chopping into 2mm by 2mm dice. 2. Mince venison meat, bacon and lardo. 3. Mix all ingredients together well in a large mixer. 4. Test the mix in a small tinfoil pocket. 5. Roll into 35g balls. 6. Roll with 1 ½ layers of caul fat secured well. 7. When cooking, place the seal side down in an oiled pan on a medium to high heat. 8. Once brown turn the faggot over and brown the other side. 9. Add a small amount of stock and sauce into the pan and put into the oven 180 C for 6 minutes. 10. Check temperature.

ife Magazines had the privilege of attending an all-female shooting master class at the prestigious Royal Berkshire Shooting School with Michelin star chef Sally Abé, TV cook Clodagh Mckenna, champion England clay pigeon shooter Anita North and food writers with an appetite for learning more about game and to celebrate The Eat Game Awards 2019. The Eat Game Awards (EGAs) were established in 2018 by three dedicated game advocates – James Horne, Chairman of Purdey and founder of Guns on Pegs, Annette Woolcock of Taste of Game and Ranald Macdonald, founder of award-winning Scottish restaurant group, Boisdale. The trip began with a fantastic masterclass in the Berkshire countryside, where we got our eye in shooting clays from expert instructors – a lot of fun and we did ourselves proud! Following classes out in the gorgeous school grounds, we had the pleasure of tasting various delicious game recipes created by Head Chef of London’s only Michelin-starred gastro pub The Harwood Arms, Sally Abé. Sally cooked her signature Faggot dish (see recipe) for our starter, followed by tender wood pigeon with sweet corn and girolles for our main. We also got to try a beautiful game terrine starter and grouse with a blackberry & rosemary jus, celeriac and potato

Top Thames walks you can reach by train

Exploring the Thames Path National Trail couldn’t be easier, just hop on a Great Western Railway (GWR) train to join one of seven walking routes, passing through some of the country’s finest towns and cities, including Oxford, Marlow and Windsor

Oxford to Abingdon-on-Thames This nine-mile amble begins in the historic university city of Oxford, with its famous colleges, including Christ Church – the alma mater of no less than 13 Prime Ministers. Heading south towards picturesque Abingdon, it’s an exceptionally rural route, passing several locks on the way, as well as the impressive weir known as the Sandford Lasher. Abingdon itself is a lively, historic market town with a decent museum and some great architecture.

Marlow to Henley-on-Thames When you arrive by train in Marlow, head towards the town centre to begin this eight and a half mile walk. A fashionable riverside resort, Marlow has been home to some of the biggest names in literature, including T.S. Eliot and Mary Shelley. It remains a vibrant market town, full of boutique shops, restaurants and bistros. Once you reach the river, turn right towards Henley-on-Thames, the famous regatta town, passing Bisham Church and the stunning Bisham Abbey.

Windsor to Staines The right royal riverside town of Windsor is a mustsee destination. Just a 35-minute train journey from London Paddington, it’s a great place to start this eight-mile walk towards the Surrey town of Staines. While in Windsor, be sure to visit the beautiful castle, with it’s distinctive Long Walk, leading to its ornate entrance. October onwards, so you can bring the whole family along for a visit. There are a whole host of activities planned throughout the season. If you’re looking to create the perfect doorstep decoration, come along to the Thatched Cottage on Monday 28 October and have a go at pumpkin carving. It’s a brilliantly hands on activity, starting with scooping out the ooey gooey innards of the pumpkin and then carefully using special pumpkin cutting tools to carve out spooky shapes. We ask that visitors bring their own pumpkins and we’ll provide tea lights and a team of volunteer helpers. And if you’re going all out with decorating the house, then there’ll be craft sessions during half-term week too, perfect for crafty kids who love to get messy. With shorter darker days it can seem a challenge to tempt everyone off the sofa and outside for some much needed fresh air. A magical potion making themed trail is just what you need to inspire adventure and tempt the family away from their screens. Children will be challenged to explore the garden for hidden trail boards, gathering up the ingredients they need to create their mystical potion. And the highlight of half-term is the annual Spooky Walk. As dusk falls and dark shadows creep into the garden, Claremont will be transformed into a ghoulish grotto bursting with spooky frights. Perfect for children between 5 and 12, this creepy walk around the garden will be held on Halloween itself, Thursday 31 October, from 4.30-6.40pm, and is a wonderful alternative to trick or treating. October is often the start of cold and frosty weather, with scarves and gloves being dug out from cupboards once again. Our café will be on hand to provide warming soups and one-pot meals along with hot drinks, hearty bakes and sweet treats. The children’s play area also has a handy kiosk close by providing hot drinks and snacks, so you can relax with a coffee whilst the children let off some steam. With beautiful autumn vistas and magical days out on offer, October is the perfect time to visit Claremont. Every penny you spend will go back into preserving the garden for the future.

Great Minds by Anne-Katrin Purkiss 11 January – 29 March 2020

his winter, The Lightbox will host the new Upper Gallery exhibition Great Minds by Anne-Katrin Purkiss which brings together more than forty contemporary photographic portraits of influential women working across art and science such as Mary Quant, Elisabeth Frink, Magdalene Odundo, Sophie Ryder and Helen Sharman, the first British cosmonaut. For over three decades, Anne-Katrin Purkiss has been photographing people in creative professions, either as part of her regular freelance work for museums, galleries and government agencies or due to personal interest. Anne said: “A few decades ago, few people would have found it unusual to see only one or two portraits of women in an exhibition featuring artists or scientists. I want this exhibition to show a different perspective.” Working primarily in black and white by utilising available light, Anne’s work has become, over the

years, part of a number of public collections and has been exhibited widely and published in a range of newspapers and journals around the world. When elaborating on the idea behind her ongoing photographic project and the upcoming exhibition, Anne added: “In recent years I have made a deliberate effort to address the [gender] imbalance. It was easier than I had imagined. It meant moving away from photographing only people whose names were well-publicised and immediately recognised, to taking a closer look at achievements and listening to what others had to say about people whose work had personally inspired them.” In line with her artistic practice, Anne will create a site-specific installation of photographic portraits within the Upper Gallery, during the exhibition run. One wall of the gallery space will be reserved for visitors who can have their portraits taken alongside an item that defines their creative interests. A temporary studio will be set up on-site. More details on this event will be published soon. “I hope that the resulting portraits of local people will give the project a new dimension”, Anne concluded. The Lightbox exhibition will be accompanied by a fundraising event, ‘In Conversation with Sophie Ryder’, in honour of International Women’s Day 2020. Director of The Lightbox, Marilyn Scott, and renowned sculptor Sophie Ryder – whose portrait is part of the exhibition – will discuss Sophie’s work and her experience as a female artist, as well as the challenges faced by women in the arts today, on Fri 6 March 2020, 7.00pm.

his headline is likely to ruffle a few feathers from avid investors in gold, property and stocks, but casks of whiskey are fast becoming the go-to investment for people looking to hedge against inflation and the uncertainties of the financial markets. Knight Frank has included whiskey in its wealth report for the first time in 2019; a key indicator that this asset class is favourable with HNWI & UHNWI who are securing their wealth by owning casks of whiskey. This is not about being speculative and buying rare bottles of whiskey in the hope they go up in price. That style of investing requires skill and knowledge of the market while still being a gamble. This article is specifically about owning casks of whiskey.

HOW IT WORKS

You can purchase casks of whiskey straight off the still. Because the whiskey is brand new, it hasn’t aged and therefore is far most cost effective. Whiskey must be at least three years old to be bottled and sold, and most would agree at least five + years old to be desirable and palatable enough to drink. The cost of maturation over five years can hurt distilleries, as it is quite a capital- intensive model. Some distilleries, therefore, opt to sell a small percentage of their whiskey right off the stills. They do this to cover running costs while the rest of their production matures over five years or longer. This opens up a great opportunity for investors to buy off the stills and hold for those five years, then releasing at a profit.

WHY IS WHISKEY BECOMING FAVOURABLE WITH INVESTORS?

Unlike most commodities, whiskey increases in quality and value as it matures. Its price increase is inevitable over time. It doesn’t tend to suffer the highs and lows of financial markets and it’s also a major exported product, where demand significantly outstrips supply. The Irish variety is the fastest- growing, brown spirit in the world. The International Wine & Spirit Record (IWSR), which is the global benchmark for alcohol data and intelligence, shows the growth of Irish whiskey will continue to outstrip that of Scotch and Bourbon for at least another ten years. What’s more, it has been outperforming both for the last twenty years. The Irish Whiskey Association (IWA) echoes the same data and statistics and predicts the rise to continue, as Irish whiskey comes back to where it once was on a global stage. So, Irish whiskey specifically offers a mix of stability and huge growth upside. The Whiskey industry in Ireland is set to soar above €1 billion euros per annum — which is predicted to double again by 2030. There simply isn’t enough mature Irish whiskey available to supply the demands of the market today — and especially not in five or ten years time. Join a number of London residents who are choosing to secure their wealth with Whiskey & Wealth Club. hen I speak to parents about what they want for their children, often one of the most important answers is simply to be happy and develop a love of learning. They also want to know that their children will leave school ready for the future with the skills they need to thrive. But what are those skills? Recent research from the World Economic Forum asked executives from the world’s leading companies what they thought would be the most important job skills in 2020. They cited complex problem solving, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and emotional intelligence as the top five aptitudes. Education must give young people the foundations of literacy, numeracy and scientific knowledge plus a broad range of skills readying them for university and beyond. To my mind, there is only one programme that fulfils this – the International Baccalaureate (IB). The IB allows students to select a wide range of topics to study across the sciences, arts and languages, ensuring they graduate with a mix of skills rather than the comparatively narrow subject areas of A Level study for instance. The qualification encourages students to develop an inquiring mind and critical thinking, then apply their knowledge to the world around them. Importantly, in our globally interconnected world, the IB approaches all subjects with a crosscultural perspective. Subjects are studied in the classroom from multiple viewpoints and, coupled with a class comprising of over twenty different nationalities, students develop a broad appreciation of different ways of thinking. For us though, it is not enough that students are simply ready for the world beyond the school gates, we want all our ACS graduates to have confidence

to pursue opportunities wherever it may take them, make waves and change things for the better. This means encouraging students to embrace creativity, take action on meaningful issues such as climate change, and dedicating time in service to the wider community. With the 2019 harvest now underway at Denbies, our winery and vineyard team are busy measuring grape sugars, harvesting grapes and transporting them into the winery for their first pressing. with Pranee Laurillard, Founder of Giggling Squid Tell us what led you to start off Giggling Squid as restaurant business I was keen to introduce the concept of Thai tapas which was against the norm back then and broke away from the more traditional Thai offerings. Tapas are perfect for capturing that essential Thai mealtime experience with lots of dishes to be shared and enjoyed with friends or family in a relaxed setting. It was also important for me to focus on beautiful décor – to create a place where customers could delight in the surroundings as well as the food. Giggling Squid is such a unique nickname for a restaurant, would you mind sharing the story behind it? It’s actually the nickname we gave one of our lovely three children! We wanted something personal but that grabbed people’s attention too. Can you tell us what inspired you when creating the dishes? There’s a story and a lot of love behind each of the Giggling Squid dishes. Thai traditions and legends inspire me as well as my personal memories of traveling around Thailand with my mum, visiting the local markets. I go back to Thailand every year and each time I discover new, exciting ingredients. Speaking of new exotic ingredients, where do you usually get it from? Do you import it directly from Thailand? We import fresh Thai herbs and vegetables directly from Thailand such as Mah Kwan which is a rare pepper found in Northern Thailand. However, we do make use of the abundance of seasonal British produce including meat, fish, fruit and vegetables. Do you have any favourites from the menu? Your classic go to? To be honest, I have a lot of favourite dishes – it depends on how hungry I am. If I’m looking for something light, I would go for a couple of starters such as Betel Leaf & Ginger Lime Salmon Morsels and Big Flavour Mushroom Larb but if I’m very hungry Chubby Cheek Pork with a side of jasmine rice is my go-to choice. What would your top tips be on running a successful restaurant chain? ummer may have been and gone, but the culinary scene in Esher is hotting up. The standout restaurant for us though is Seven Bluebirds, who are celebrating their 1st birthday and continue to deliver consistently excellent food and service. Their ethos since opening has been to deliver fresh, well cooked food made from scratch, served in a comfortable environment with attentive, but not overbearing service. Their Dinner menu still changes seasonally, with a few tweaks here and there mid season and currently features, amongst many other things, a house smoked and grilled pork chop with pineapple and jalapeño salsa. Also a fantastic starter is the Harissa Cream Cheese stuffed and Tempura battered Courgette flower. On the dessert front, the one that caught our attention, and delivered a truly theatrical piece of culinary craftsmanship, was their “Campfire S’mores”. Truly a sensory masterpiece that comes to the table still smoking and really did make one feel that you were sitting around a campfire toasting marshmallows. Their weekend brunch menu is really quite unique for the area with Chicken & Waffles featuring high up on the “must have” list as well as their very special burger, made in house of course, and so popular that they are considering making it available on Deliveroo! Our favorite though has to be the Bluebird Benny, their riff on Eggs Benedict which substitutes the ham for smashed avocado and fried halloumi. Thankfully its not only on the weekend brunch menu, but also on the breakfast menu, which is served all day Tuesday to Sunday. For those that can’t always make it out to Seven Bluebirds for dinner, we’re told that they will

isit Watts Gallery – Artists’ Village, Guildford in Surrey, to discover an exhibition dedicated to exploring the life and art of the Victorian Orientalist artist John Frederick Lewis (1804-1876) – Until 3rd November 2019 Between 1827 and 1840 Lewis made numerous trips to Europe, travelling through Spain and Italy. From 1840, he travelled to Constantinople and on to Cairo in 1841 where he remained, detached from the London art scene, for a decade. Of all of the European artists to make the Eastern pilgrimage in the nineteenth century, Lewis is unique in staying for such a prolonged period. He settled in the Islamic quarters of Cairo where he lived in a traditional upper-class house, which would provide the backdrop for many compositions. During this period, Lewis created an array of detailed and vivid sketches that convey his fascination in the architecture, light and exoticism of the region. When Lewis returned to London in 1851 he brought with him a substantial body of work that would provide a wealth of inspiration for the rest of his artistic career. This exhibition will be underpinned by an exploration of Lewis’s evolving and experimental self-fashioning. While living in Cairo, he was famously described as a ‘languid Lotus-eater’ leading a ‘dreamy, hazy, lazy, tobaccofied life’ by his close friend William Makepeace Thackeray. Despite being absent from the London art world for a decade, on his return he was received with critical acclaim assimilating straight into the heart of the establishment. What is Hip Impingement and will I get Hip Arthritis if I have it?

Mr Rishi Chana FRCS Orth What is hip impingement? The hip joint is a natural ball and socket joint, lined by a seal called the labrum (lip). The femoral head is the ball and the acetabulum is the socket: a perfect sphere spinning in a half cup. Hip impingement is when the ball or the socket are not perfectly round but more egg shaped or oblong. This causes jarring and injury due to the shape mis-match. Why does this occur? As we grow, the growth plate reacts to stress and lays extra bone. This stress causes the round femoral head to become more egg shaped (a bump or cam lesion). The socket can become oblong and this is called a pincer lesion. How common is this? 1 in 20 people are affected but most people do not know it due to minor changes. Men and women can have hip impingement, men tend to have bumps and ladies have socket changes. When does it present and what does it feel like? Two peaks occur: Mid-twenties when we are very active, or in our mid-forties when late damage starts to occur. The main symptom is mixed pain, a dull toothache pain during or after the activity and a sharp pain within the front and outside groin/pelvis areas, sometimes with a click or stiffness. Pain can be caused by deep flexion and rotation movement; putting on shoes or socks, getting in and out of a car, many sports and fitness activities can also cause this if the level of activity crosses a threshold where damage starts to occur and the pain starts. Even sitting or driving for a long time. Runners, cyclists, triathletes or even crossfit enthusiasts are particularly at risk due to the nature of extreme range of motion and repetitive higher impact action forces that the joint is put through. 6 4 O C TO B E R 2 0 1 9

People taking part on regular walking, sports and fitness activities who have injuries are also found to have core gluteal muscular weakness and trochanteric bursitis that is underestimated. If get the pain, what should I do? A consultation with a health expert is advised. An early professional holistic assessment will lead to a timely diagnosis and treatment to get you back on your feet and returned to full activity sooner. What are the treatment options? Can the failing hip joint be saved: bridging the early arthritis gap? Getting the correct diagnosis is the key. The earlier the condition is treated the better. If this is left untreated, it can progress to early onset osteo-arthritis and may lead to needing a total hip replacement. Once you see an expert, they will do an xray and mri scan to confirm the condition. Physiotherapy does help but if the bone is abnormally shaped, then keyhole surgery to shave it off and repair any cartilage damage to the hip joint are recommended. Not content with holding her usual headline-grabbing catwalk show, the designer went live with her first own-brand beauty collection and then held a glamorous media event to celebrate the launch. Beckham and her beauty brand co-founder Sarah Creal spoke to guests about the new collection and the message behind the brand, revealing some fascinating insights along the way. From her obsession with clean formulations to the unlikely inspiration behind the packaging, here’s everything we learned at the Victoria Beckham Beauty launch...

It was a beautiful setting The lunch took place in the garden at Annabel’s restaurant in Mayfair. Festooned with flowers and plants, and with a huge, pink floral centrepiece, there was a chic English country garden feel to the venue. Products from the new collection were laid on the tables and even the napkins were embroidered with the VB logo.

something that is clean, but still active.” Sustainability is also a top priority, she said: “Making sure we are using minimal plastic, and 100% post-consumer waste with the outer packaging as well. So being kind to ourselves and kind to the planet. And we feel that’s a modern take on beauty.”

This is make-up for women on the move artist Wendy Rowe and hair stylist Ken Paves. “Every single person here is so important to me and Sarah,” Beckham said. “So, to get the opportunity to spend time with you and talk you through why we’ve done what we’ve done, and explain the collection, is really exciting for us. “And it’s such a lovely way to do it here at Annabel’s, because it’s quite posh, isn’t it?”

The products are very luxurious Examining the products that were laid out, the first thing I noticed was the weight - the brass and tortoiseshell packaging is seriously luxe. Beckham explained that the Smoky Eye Bricks (£48 each), which come in four colour variations, are intended to be small enough to fit in your handbag for touch-ups on the go. After lunch, I asked her why she chose tortoiseshell and she revealed it was because of a source close to home. “The idea came from a horn bowl in my kitchen. I said to Sarah, ‘It’s so chic, this has to be it’,” she said.

The first collection is all about eyes “It makes sense for us to start with an eye story, because I think that’s something that is very signature to me, a smoky, sexy eye - can we say that word?” Beckham said of the range, which comprises four Smoky Eye Bricks, four Lid Lustre eyeshadows (£28 each) and three Satin Kajal Liners (£20 each). The colours are, for the most part, on the natural or neutral side, with the exception of the Royal Smoky Eye Brick, which features three blue shades. “I really wanted to make sure this was a focused launch,” Beckham added. “There will be more to come, there’s going to be various drops, which I think is really exciting as well.”

The mum-of-our admitted she’d had a very hectic weekend with her catwalk show and parenting duties - which is why she creates products for women with equally busy lives. “Yesterday was a great day, and we did have a lot of wine last night, and then I was up at six o’clock this morning during school runs,” Beckham said. Creal added: “We’re talking about beauty in motion - this is where it comes from. It’s like, we’re constantly running. We know you’re constantly running. And we want beauty that really keeps up with you.”

It’s not about anti-ageing While Beckham’s passion for make-up really shone through, the 45-year-old made it clear she isn’t striving to turn back the clock with her collection. “It’s not about trying to make ourselves look any different, any younger - I’m not coming out with products that say they’re going to get rid of wrinkles - because I think that’s bulls**t,” she said. “I think we should celebrate who we are and be the best, most powerful version of ourselves and celebrate each other.” Judging by the resounding applause and the reception that Beckham got today, that’s a message women can really relate to. he surface you walk on provides the backbone of an interior scheme. Get it right and it will make a dramatic difference to the overall feel of a room. Wood flooring is a wonderful option as it introduces colour, texture, pattern and character. It’s easy to live with being practical, hardwearing and a cinch to maintain. There are endless design options too. “Wood flooring is brilliant for bringing a scheme together,” says Peter Keane, Director of The Natural Wood Floor Company. “Dark floors create a luxurious look, while rustic floors with lots of knots enhance a casual, country scheme. Rich colours will add warmth, while pale colours will go with just about anything and introduce plenty of light into a room.” The grade of wood will also create a different look. Prime grades have minimal knots and colour variation, so create a contemporary feel. Natural grades have more feature marks so lend themselves to more traditional looks. “Don’t be constrained by this though,” Peter advises. “A rustic board with plenty of knots, shakes and detailing can soften modern schemes.” When it comes to the latest trends, darker hues are gaining in popularity. “Although there will always be a demand for light wooden floors, darker shades are about to step into the limelight and have their moment. The dark rich shades found in our Smoky Mountain and Baked Oak flooring introduce a glamorous, dramatic look and can’t fail to get noticed.” Parquet blocks have been back in fashion for a while, but couldn’t be hotter right now. The combination of colour, wood detailing and pattern makes for a real statement floor. For an up-todate look go large with 600 mm sized blocks. Alternatively, aged blocks are great for adding extra

character as they look like reclaimed blocks but can be used with underfloor heating. It always pays to buy a good quality floor from a reputable supplier, as the right wooden floor will improve your property, add to its value and last for years.
