Covid Vaccinations for Children
THE LEGAL
POSITION
On the 20 September 2021, children aged 12 to 15 became eligible for the covid vaccination. Here we discuss the possible implications.
H
owever, this has become a divisive issue for many parents, especially if they have refused treatment themselves. So, what is the law around this decision? Who provides consent? Vaccination is not mandatory in the UK and requires parental consent for children. Consent is required from a person with parental responsibility for a child under the age of 16. A child over the age of 16 is entitled to consent to their own treatment and this will only be overruled in exceptional circumstances. Children under the age of 16 can potentially consent to their own treatment if they
can be deemed “Gillick” competent. This means they are deemed to have sufficient competence, intelligence and understanding of what is involved to agree to treatment. What if parents disagree? If parents disagree about a child having a vaccination, they will need to apply for a Specific Issue Order so that the Court can decide whether the child should be vaccinated. The Courts paramount consideration will be the welfare of the child and will be based on what is in best interests of the child. What about the covid vaccination? In most cases, the Court have found vaccination to be in the best interest of the child as recommended by Public Health England. It would only be seen as not in a child’s best interests if there was: • a credible development in medical science or new peer-reviewed research evidence indicating significant concern for the efficacy and/or safety of a vaccine; and/or • a well evidenced medical contra-indication specific to the child or children who are subject of the application.

SYDENHAM HIGH SCHOOL: 135 years of first-class education
22.02.2022 - a date for reflection and looking ahead for Sydenham High School as it celebrates 135 years of the first-class education delivered to pupils since 22 February 1887. Founders of the school, Maria Grey, Mary Gurney, Emily Shirreff and Lady Stanley of Alderley championed the unfashionable cause of education for women, overcoming considerable opposition on the grounds of religion, social status and gender, as well as lack of funding that boys’ public schools were afforded at the time. Their aims were to provide an academic grounding, first-class teaching and an environment that developed character and personality and they are shining examples of the values of courage, resilience and determination that the school is built upon. The school motto of “fear nothing” aptly emboldens pupils as they forge their own path through life, stepping outside their comfort zones, developing independence of mind, the courage to take risks and the ability and awareness to stand up for what is right. History shows the school’s ability to overcome adversity, from the evacuation to Brighton during The Second World War to the 34 JANUARY 2022

fire in 1997 which gutted the Victorian heart of the school. The spirit of perseverance endured the coronavirus pandemic with staff adapting seamlessly to the necessary hybrid learning. The school’s inclusive nature provides a broad and balanced curriculum with a solid foundation of pastoral care, putting the wellbeing of its entire community at the forefront, with parents regularly sharing positive praise: “I’d like to send an expression of gratitude for all that you are doing for our daughters. It means so much to know that you are backing them every step of the way. If nothing else, this generation is truly learning to fear nothing and identifying how adaptable humans can be.” In recent years, the school has grown in size and so has the dedication to the objectives laid out 135 years earlier, allowing pupils to reach their potential whatever their starting point. Alumnae become climate change consultants, doctors, authors, scientists, artists, Grammy Award-winning musicians and even a horse-racing icon! Ready to call out inequality or injustice in whatever form it may present itself, pupils have a strong moral compass, leading the way on many social issues, while being accepting and respectful of themselves and others. Whilst celebrating 135 years of dedication to educating girls, Sydenham High is empowered to forge its own path, creating a new history for 135 more. sydenhamhighschool.gdst.net

YEARS OF FERRARI T
he company’s story officially began in 1947 when the first Ferrari emerged from the historic factory entrance on Via Abetone Inferiore in Maranello. The 125 S, as it was known, embodied the passion and determination of the company’s founder, Enzo Ferrari. To date Ferrari’s most important sporting successes include 15 F1 World Drivers’ Championships, 16 F1 World Constructors’ Championships, 14 Sports Car Manufacturers’ World titles, nine wins at 24 Hours of Le Mans, eight at the Mille Miglia, seven at the Targa Florio and 226 victories in F1 Grand Prix. The legendary symbol used by Ferrari has heroic origins. It was first adopted as a personal

emblem by a highly decorated Italian World War I pilot, Francesco Baracca, who had it painted on the fuselage of his aircraft. At the end of the war, Baracca’s parents offered to allow Enzo Ferrari to use the Cavallino Rampante (Prancing Horse) symbol. He adopted it as the logo for his racing Scuderia, placing it on a yellow shield in honour of his hometown of Modena and topping it with the Italian tricolour. The classic Ferrari red, however, was simply the colour assigned by the International Automobile Federation to Italian grand prix cars in the early years of the last century. SAVING FACE:
Secrets from a celebrity facialist Ada Ooi mixes Chinese and Western medicine for a more holistic approach to skincare. By Prudence Wade, PA
W
ith a client roster including Rooney Mara, Ellie Goulding and Lily Allen, facialist Ada Ooi (adaooi.com) knows a thing or two about glowing skin. Originally from Hong Kong, Ooi spent weekends growing up at her grandfather’s pharmacy in nearby Macau. “I would sit next to him every Saturday, I was the girl grinding all these herbs and pastes for the customers,” Ooi remembers. “I picked up a lot about the good feeling of helping people.” Another thing she learned from her grandfather was the potential in mixing Chinese and Western medicines. After an ill-fated foray into advertising, Ooi trained as an aromatherapist and aesthetician – realising she was “trying to find a link to my 25 12 2 J D EM AENC U A BREYR 22 00 22 12
grandfather”. When she started treating skin, often it was the last thing Ooi looked at. “Someone would come through my door and I’d be like, ‘Actually, I don’t even want to touch your face, I want to touch your feet because your blood circulation is bad, your liver and kidney is in depletion’,” she explains. The next step in Ooi’s career was to train as a practitioner of Chinese medicine – and that’s when she felt she was “really helping people”, she says. “My philosophy is treating from within: that is how I see myself as a facialist, because our skin is the biggest organ of our body and is really the reflection of what’s happening in our inner self.” This ethos has garnered Ooi plenty of celebrity fans, and these are just some of the tips and secrets she’s picked up along the way…
THE PRODUCTS OOI CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT… An essence
Think about your skin holistically
Ooi prefers to use the word ‘essence’ rather than ‘toner’ – particularly as toners have an increasingly bad reputation for being harsh or drying. For Ooi, an essence should follow your cleanser – it won’t minimise your pores (“pores don’t shrink”, she says), but it can balance your skin’s pH and “give your skin a boost of hydration, in the sense that it’s mild and easy enough for the skin to drink up”, she explains. “It’s more important than a moisturiser, I would say.”
“If you care for your skin, you should be caring for your whole wellbeing as well,” Ooi says simply. “I’m not saying you need to go and do lots of check-ups – nothing complicated, but be more mindful and conscious about your stress, the tension you have, hormonal fluctuations. These contribute to most longer-term skin problems, like adult acne and wrinkles – yes, gravity plays a role, but a tense expression is the killer.”
Don’t blindly follow trends “Don’t follow trends to try look like other people – it really is unsustainable and you can make the wrong decisions,” Ooi says. Over-exfoliating is a big one right now. “I really do see there is an addiction to using acids and exfoliating agents, because of how it feels,” she sighs. “Initially, it feels very smooth, very good – but then you start peeling, or you have redness… And your skin can get very dry.”
SLOW AGEING ESSENTIAL FACIAL ESSENCE, £56
An emulsion SKIN PROUD JELLY BRIGHT ESSENCE, £9.30 (WAS £13.95), BOOTS
Try not to do everything at once Almost all of us are guilty of it: we get some kind of issue with our skin – whether it’s acne or melasma – and we try and fix it by chucking on as many products and treatments as we can. “Try to do one thing at a time – don’t experiment with so much,” Ooi pleads. “Even if you’ve got the money, doing everything at the same time cannot be good for you.”
ORIGINS DR. ANDREW WEIL MEGA-MUSHROOM RELIEF & RESILIENCE FORTIFYING EMULSION, £32, BOOTS
BOBBI BROWN INTENSIVE SKIN SERUM RADIANCE EMULSION, £52
Vitamin C Vitamins are “vital for the skin”, says Ooi. “Vitamin C is a great antioxidant you can use day and night to protect your skin from all the free radicals.” Her top tip is to make sure you don’t opt for too high a concentration.
Mindset is everything “It’s really down to the person to find the right mindset to be receiving the skincare routine they have designed for themselves,” says Ooi. “Slapping everything on will always feel like a chore – it really doesn’t do much, apart from conditioning the surface of your skin. “But if you take a little bit of mindfulness in your skincare routine, you will feel a big difference in your mood. And if you do it at night, you will sleep better as well.”
Massage your products in Ooi is a big fan of taking the time to massage in your products. “It really creates a brain-skin reaction with dopamine – happy hormones. They are going to be hyped up, so you’ll have more benefits from your skincare, and your mind will feel a lot better too.”
“Emulsions are the texture between serum and moisturiser,” Ooi says. “It’s actually got the best of both worlds… I think an emulsion is a great light moisturiser to always have on your dressing table, so you can adjust how much moisture you want to have every night.” This means your skincare routine can be more “flexible”.

TOP INTERIOR TRENDS AS TOLD BY ROTHLEY Sophie Hill, Marketing and Insight and Innovation at Rothley, comments on 2022’s top interior trends as seen by Rothley
Eco-friendly design A more conscious way of living is at the top of our priority list, as the climate crisis worsens and we all try to do our bit to help. We’ve seen a clear shift towards more conscious choices, whether that is materials or extending the life of items around the home rather than buying more things. Low-waste living and upcycling is at the heart of creating a mindful home, and we have definitely seen a rise in upcycling which is likely to continue - from people sewing and making over old outfits, to making garden furniture out of wooden pallets. For the less experienced DIY-ers, taking an old piece of furniture and customising it is a great way to reduce waste and also means no one else has the same piece as you! It is amazing what a new set of legs can do to a set of table and chairs, we have also just launched our new hairpin legs range. In a variety of sizes and finishes, they’re set to transform any old desk or cabinet. My personal tip

would be to make a habit of visiting local charity shops - you’d be surprised by the gems you can find! Looking for a bigger change - instead of purchasing a whole new kitchen, why not paint the cabinets, expose some shelves for a tidier feel, and swap out some elements like taps and hooks? That way you still get a ‘new’ kitchen without the effort and mess of a whole new unit.
When it comes to materials, we at Rothley recognise consumers’ needs for more conscious choices which is why we have introduced a Krome range - the finish has exactly the same appearance as chrome, but is more durable, much more environmentally friendly and there are no harmful by-products generated during production. We’ve also cut back on our packaging, utilising recyclable materials and replacing plastic wrapping with sustainable alternatives.
Decorative metal Gone are the days when a utensil hook or curtain pole were just practical items in the home. With stylish options in a variety of colours and sizes available now, those once practical items are now part of curated home design schemes. Choose your desired finish, like matt black or polished silver, and implement it throughout the home, for a coherent look which travels from room to room. Top tip: If you’re feeling bold, extend the metallic finish into bigger elements of the home, like a copper table top in the dining room, matched with a splashback in the kitchen.
Bold contrasting colours After spending the last 18 months cooped in our homes, we’re eager to open the windows and doors of our homes and let the world in. Colour has been on the rise, and will continue to be in the centre of interior design in 2022. As greys and neutral hues are taking a back seat, interior enthusiasts are moving from using colour blocks to separate the home office from the kitchen, to simply embracing colour as a way of injecting
personality and giving a space a new lease of life. At Rothley we have noticed consumers hunger for colour, as our coloured accessories are out selling steel and gunmetal alternatives. Home accessories in copper and matt black finishes are some of our best sellers, outselling chrome effect and polished stainless steel by 3%, and we have also just launched a range of hairpin legs which come in antique brass, polished copper, gunmetal and matt black.
Home office As the world reopens, we are adopting a new flexible way of living, taking into account some of the learnings from the pandemic. Many of us spent months working from home, and while it could be lonely at times, it also had some benefits we’re not ready to let go of, and many are spending some of their work time at home on an ongoing basis now. Home offices are going to continue to be in the centre of decorating in 2022, especially since many of us had to create them with almost no time to prepare. Now we have the time to make a home office its own space, and give it as much thought as we would designing a kitchen or bedroom.
With over 190 years of experience, Rothley offers a variety of metal hardware products including handrail, shelving brackets, furniture legs and curtain poles, and now also launching trendy hairpin legs. Rothley home improvement products are helping make your interior style dreams a reality. An advocate for ‘fashionmongery,’ Rothley provides the right finishing touches for a curated home design look, coordinating previously functional items in shades to suit your aesthetic including matt black and polished copper. The latest launch from Rothley is hairpin legs, a fashion forward way to put your stamp on your furniture - whether upcycling a new lease of life into an existing item or creating a new statement piece. ironmongerydirect.co.uk/ brands/rothley JANUARY 2022 63

Planning the
IDYLLIC
SUMMER
Winter is the best time for a pool installation or renovation. Here’s Why…
W
ith the cold weather due to be setting in, it might seem an odd time to start thinking about having a swimming pool installed. Talk to any swimming pool installer, however, and you’ll hear that winter is the perfect time to start planning, and constructing your pool. Logistically, there’s not really a right or wrong time, but you’ll find that by starting the process off during the off-peak season, there are plenty of benefits you might not have considered. All In The Preparation As with any building project, proper planning and preparation is absolutely essential. The more time you spend working out the details, from things like size, shape and location, the more likely you’ll be able to stick to your planned budget and timescale. An experienced swimming pool designer will help you draw up the plans for your dream pool, and by doing this during the colder months you’re not in such a rush to ‘dive in’, so will be able to take your time to get it exactly right. Ability To Negotiate Pool contractors and builders need to make a profit whatever the time of year, and material costs and overheads sadly don’t decrease in value during the off-season. One of the key benefits of having your swimming pool installed in the winter is being able to have it done at your convenience: it’s true that building and contracting companies are less busy at this time of year, so you’re more likely to get the dates that suit you, and won’t have workers and noisy machinery destroying the peace in your garden when you want to be outside enjoying it. Ready To Enjoy For Summer Your new pool will be completed and ready for use well in time for the early summer, so you can get full 64 JANUARY 2022
An experienced swimming pool designer will help you draw up the plans for your dream pool use of it for the entire season. Having the pool built during the spring or summer months means that you won’t be able to swim, or even enjoy your garden properly when the construction work is going on. This is one of the most influential reasons for planning and installing a swimming pool during the winter. Ward off the winter blues by planning and dreaming of an idyllic summer by your newly built home swimming pool!

The Enduring Appeal of
Japanese Interiors Anna Howell, Chaplins Interiors Editor
I
t’s been likened to a quiet storm. The type of idea that makes its way to our shores in whispers, riding the crest of waves like origami, wabi sabi and kintsugi. Far too ancient to be considered trendy, Japanese influences are nevertheless ever-present — at once as a vehicle for outstanding aesthetics, and as a roadmap for a more fulfilling life. The infatuation predates even today’s crop of international tastemakers. Charlotte Perriand, the acclaimed French designer, spent much of her heyday in Japan, and so did Italian architect Gianfranco Frattini. But what is novel, perhaps, is how necessary the Japanese approach to living now feels. How the Japanese home came to embody the ideals of serene, considered living is explained by Joy Hendry in her seminal 1995 essay, Wrapping Culture. “In Japanese culture, there is a certain power attached to the condition of being enclosed. Ascetics who shut themselves away were said to gain spiritual power, a concept in Japan known as utsubo”. While utsubo initially only applied to a handful of Zen philosophers, it soon trickled into the wider culture, leading to a reverence of life indoors and a more thoughtful approach to the way we design interiors. Today, many Japanese homes are distinguished by a sense of lightness. Dining room furniture is kept classic and minimal with clear open lines that encourage conversation, while sculptural

paper lanterns provide a soft halo of luminosity overhead. In this pantheon of aesthetics, sharp edges find short shrift, replaced instead by soft rounded silhouettes that seem to have been shaped by the elements instead. It’s an idea that even extends towards some of the more traditionally bulky items of furniture. In the hands of designers like Isamu Noguchi and Naoto Fukasawa, beds, bookcases and coffee tables seem to float above the ground, maximising the sense of available space. Journalist Marilena Sobacchi has described this new lexis of lightness as a concentration of expressivity in minimal form. We like to think of it as the ability to say a lot with a little. In the absence of excessive ornamentation, there is room to think. An idea that Marie Kondo explores in her bestselling series The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up. “When your room is clean and uncluttered, you have no choice but to examine your inner state.” Marie Kondo Nor is the search for levity directly restricted to
interiors. As the news cycle intensifies, downloads of meditation apps like Calm and Headspace have reached fever pitch. So too, has the demand for a new type of influencer, the kind that advocates buying once and buying well over an endless cycle of materialism. Transcending the Zeitgeist in 2022 will naturally look different for everyone. But there’s something rather endearing about the idea that calm, stillness and serenity can become the house you live in. It’s in this arena that Japanese inspired-interiors excel. Championing intentionality over excess and stillness instead of clutter. To shop any of the Japanese-inspired designs in this article, simply head to chaplins.co.uk. inding a Valentine’s gift that is both practical and great looking isn’t the easiest of tasks. The premium pieces have been handpicked by Artisan Homeware founder Kate Nowakowski and bring together practical homewares with striking aesthetics. From punchy nibble bowls and tea-time accessories to generous baking dishes, these are items that are designed for use every day. Kate Nowakowski, founder of Artisan Homeware, said: “I am a big believer in investing in great quality homewares that can be used all year round. his year brings new health and wellness trends to the centre of our attention. 2022 is all about connecting to your inner wellbeing and embracing mindfulness and the good news is, both of these can be achieved through swimming. Wellbeing essentially refers to quality of life and can apply to both our mental and physical health, the aim being to make choices that are good for us and have positive impacts on our overall health. Mindfulness

on the other hand, is the basic human ability to be fully present and aware of our feelings, thoughts and surroundings moment by moment. Steps towards mental and physical wellbeing can come in various forms, for you it could mean creating a place where the whole family can be together and spend time having fun or building somewhere just for you to wind down and relax. Swimming is a fantastic activity and an excellent way to work your entire body and cardiovascular system. As well as the amazing advantages for your physical health, swimming also has a remarkable impact on your mental health as it improves your mood, increases your self-esteem, lowers the risk of depression, slows dementia and cognitive decline, improves sleep and reduces stress. Numerous studies have also proven the benefits swimming can have on your body; swimmers have a lower risk of heart disease and strokes, lower blood pressure and reduced joint pain. ‘Flower Power’ roller blind range Ella Doran launches
D
esigner Ella Doran has announced the launch of a brand-new range of roller blinds entitled Flower Power. The new collection, joining her established, made-to-measure range, is made up of two mini collections – Floral Portraits, a series inspired by the great Dutch floral still life paintings of the late 17th and early 18th centuries and Floral Bursts, which feature a slightly more informal series of arrangements. The images were all shot and composed by Ella Doran, who first made her name in the late 1990s with her pioneering application of photography-based images and patterns onto products for the home. There are four new blind designs in each mini-collection, making eight in the overall series. ‘The works of the still life painters Jacob Woutersz Vosmaer and Rachel Ruysch were the initial inspiration for the series’ Ella Doran explained. ‘I’ve long been a fan of the arrangements in these paintings, where the flowers are portrayed against dark backgrounds and strike a great balance between formality and a certain real-ness and celebration of Nature’s imperfections. I wanted to pay homage to the paintings, but in a contemporary way, with the photographic style allowing the flowers themselves to win out more over the background.’ elladesign.co.uk

ocated on Otford high street to the back of the Hospices of Hope charity shop, the bistro boasts a deliciously varied menu including brunch dishes, healthy lunch options and of course, a wonderful array of cakes. All are cooked or baked on site by staff and volunteers and all profits directly benefit the work the charity does - pioneering the development of free hospice care in South East Europe. The pandemic had forced the closure of the charity’s former tearooms, but presented the opportunity to refurbish the premises to the magnificent standard they are today, with the help of supporters and anonymous donors. The light, open space seats up to fifty and in addition, has access to a secluded outdoor heated patio – perfect to sit out all year round. It has held host to various charity events since its re-opening including a quiz night, a gin tasting with local suppliers Greensand Ridge, and a Kent wine tasting. VEGANUARY: How to grocery shop if you’re going plant-based for the month A vegan gives their top tips on how to prepare for a meat-free month. By Prudence Wade
S
o, you’ve decided to take the plunge and do Veganuary this year. It’s a brilliant thing to do – you get to learn more about the diet, do your bit for the planet and reap some of the health benefits. But it can be quite a daunting prospect, particularly if you’re a full-time carnivore. What, no meat or dairy – for the whole month? Like a lot of New Year’s resolutions, Veganuary might be tricky to stick to if you’re not prepared. The best way to set yourself up for success is to make sure your fridge and cupboards are stocked with all the essentials – but you don’t want to have to spend lots of money to overhaul your diet. If you’re writing a shopping list ahead of Veganuary, these are some things to keep in mind…

What to buy… • Nuts: When the 4pm munchies come around, you might be absolutely stumped. What can you have that is actually plant-based, and not totally boring? To make sure you don’t spend loads of money on fancy vegan cereal bars or energy balls, we recommend bulk-buying nuts on Amazon. Delicious and filling, a handful of these will sort you out for the rest of the day. Vegan butter: If you’re a complete newbie to veganism, we wouldn’t suggest diving into plantbased baking – it’s quite tricky and you might be disappointed with the results. Definitely buy a good butter replacement – maybe a sunflower or olive oil spread. We’d argue you can’t really taste the difference between that and normal butter, particularly when slathered inside a sandwich. • Vegan yogurt: The same goes for vegan yogurt. Perfect on granola, in curries – you don’t have to think much about it, just use it as you would dairy yogurt. • Fresh fruit and veg: This one almost goes without saying and should be part of your shop anyway – Veganuary or not. Opt for fruit and veg that’s in season to minimise your carbon footprint, and don’t be afraid of buying a lot – you might find you need to eat greater quantities now you’re missing out on meat. It’s also definitely worth supplementing with beans, grains and pulses –
lentils and chickpeas will become your best friend this month.
What not to bother with… • Loads of meat replacements: While you absolutely can’t go wrong with a good vegan sausage every once and a while, we wouldn’t hugely recommend spending all your money on meat replacements. They tend to be expensive, and you don’t necessarily know what’s in them – and you don’t want to forgo all the health benefits of a vegan diet by exclusively eating processed foods. • Vegan cheese: This is a controversial one, because some vegans love plant-based cheese. Unfortunately, we’ve never come round to it – it just doesn’t really taste like the original, and chances are, you’ll be disappointed. Our stance is: if you avoid cheese entirely this month, you won’t end up missing your normal hunk of Cheddar.

DRY JANUARY the best no or low-alcoholic drinks Cutting out the booze doesn’t have to be boring, says Sam Wylie-Harris.
W
hether you’re planning to completely abstain from booze or just cut down, with so many sophisticated no or low-alcohol serves available now, there really isn’t any excuse not to give Dry January your best shot. From alcoholfree sparkle to zero spirits and a couple of bottles with very low abv, some might say staying sober (or sober-ish) has never looked so sharp… Hacienda De Luna Moscatel Rosado 2020, Valencia DO, Spain, £5.29 (5% abv) Laithwaites A sun-kissed Spanish gem, this medium sweet, semi-sparkling rosé is fresh, fruity and lots of fun. Teasing on the nose, with floral notes initially and then a swoop of ripe summer berries, which glide gracefully onto the palate leading to a refreshing finish. Can be topped with soda for a fuss-free rosé spritzer to lower the abv even more. The Doctors’ Pinot Noir 2020, Marlborough, New Zealand, £14.50 (9.5% abv), Gerrard Seel This perky pinot deserves a place on your wine rack, especially if you’re planning to practice more mindful drinking further down the line. Silky and savoury with earthy aromas and characteristic raspberry, cherry and red fruit notes with bright acidity. Tanqueray Alcohol Free 0% Spirit, £16 for 70cl, Tesco Juniper forward with an aromatic nose and citrusy complexity, there’s familiar grapefruit zest and ample vibrancy to Tanqueray’s booze-free infusion, albeit wearing its zero alcohol influence on its sleeve. With similar botanicals to its boozy Big Daddy, serve with your favourite tonic, garnish, and enjoy this uplifting spirit without the hit.

New London Light Non Alcoholic Spirit, Midnight Sun, Wild Nordic Coastal Berries, Pine and Kelp, £27.50 for 70cl, Salcombe Gin One of three variants we’ve singled out Midnight Sun for its beguiling flavours of seaberries and elderberries with hints of pine. Beautifully fragrant, with aromas of tropical flowers and notes of nectar, there’s citrus, spice, earthy tones and a tangy complexity to this girly pink drink. CROSSIP Winter Limited Edition Rich Berry Non-Alcoholic Spirit, £22 for 50cl, Crossip Drinks Winter warmer mocktails, mulled wine, hot toddy time without the vino? A fanfare of juicy black cherries, blackberries and raspberries steeped in cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves, with underlying bitter notes of wormwood – this really is your go-to for avant-garde serves, to perk up the palate and put the jolly into January. Can also be topped with soda or tonic and served over ice for quick pickme-ups with a berry rich punch. Deservedly delicious.
