At the end of his last tour, Dara had performed the show Voice Of Reason 180 times, over two years across 20 countries, from Auckland to Reykjavik, from Moscow to New York; and by March 2020 he was ready for a break! He would now like to apologise for saying that and will never wish for anything like that again. Yes, he’s back on tour, and he will never stop again, because that’s clearly what caused all this trouble. Instead, in his new show So, Where Were We? Dara will hardly mention the last year and a half, because who wants to hear about that, but will instead fire out the usual mix of stories, one-liners, audience messing, and tripping over his words because he is talking too quickly, because he’s so giddy to be back in front of a crowd.

Life happens. Change is inevitable. Things happen that we cannot control and we only try to prepare as well as we can.
Planning your estate early might seem to be overwhelming but unfortunately, no one knows when their time will come. To give you and your family peace of mind, estate planning should be given careful consideration.
If you have assets above £1m, in addition to any pension funds and life insurance policies, an inheritance tax at the rate of 40% is potentially a major concern. Without proper financial planning, the harsh reality is HM Revenue & Customs could become the largest beneficiary of your estate following your death.
If you recognise you do have more than enough to live your life to the full, you need to think about reducing your estate to avoid unnecessary taxes. Gifts (if they are above the annual allowance) could be a good way to start as they will be completely out of the estate after just 7 years.
Utilising your tax allowances are also part of estate planning. Pensions, Business Property Relief (BPR)
and trusts could be part of the estate management strategy. Pensions are generally outside the estate for tax purposes, which can be beneficial to estate planning. If you have been a business owner for at least two years, BPR could also be an option. Although the value of your business will be added to your estate upon your death, the estate could receive up to 100% relief. Trusts are used to give assets to your beneficiaries quickly, without incurring an Inheritance Tax bill. A trust can hold assets or insurance policies and can be set up exactly to your wishes.
While it is important to think about what you can leave behind, it is also important to remember that you have worked hard for your money and you should make sure to enjoy it. Don’t leave the thing you always wanted to do until “one day”. With lifestyle financial planning you could identify, achieve and maintain the lifestyle you want.
We offer estate and inheritance planning services that minimise uncertainty over the administration of the probate and maximise the net value of the estate by reducing taxes where possible.

Dr Emma Margrett, Head of Prep School at Radnor House Sevenoaks, explains how parents can support children through the transition to secondary school.
Between secondary entrance examinations and school allocation announcements, it is a challenging time for year 5 and 6 students about to take the next step on their educational journey. It’s daunting for parents too, but there are a few ways to help your child to navigate the way forward.
Children who are praised for effort rather than outcome are far more likely to push themselves further. If your child is taking examinations, particularly to secure a place or scholarship, reward preparation rather than results. Also discuss what happens if they are unsuccessful, so they understand alternative opportunities are open.
Lost uniform and difficult homework – in our diligence to be the best parents, we sometimes prevent children from learning from their mistakes and developing independence. When preparing for tests and interviews, parents can run through practice questions with their children but should encourage them to devise their own answers. Stumbling over a rehearsed polished answer can dent confidence on the day and inhibit performance.
Include your child in conversations but make the final decision
Children in this age bracket want to feel consulted for decisions that involve them, yet asking a 10 year-old to choose their future school is a huge responsibility. This age group is keen to please. often picking what they think their families want to hear rather than what they actually want. Help them to frame their opinion by highlighting aspects they would enjoy at different schools but also explain that it is your role to make the best choice for them. If your child does not perform well under pressure, consider an all through school such as Radnor House, which avoids testing at 11 or 13 and allows seamless progression.
Still unsure? It is always worth consulting with teachers, who can advise based on your child’s academic capabilities and personality. Good luck!

Harassment in the workplace can descend into downright cruelty and employers who fail to stamp out such behaviour can expect to pay a heavy reputational and financial price.
In a case on point, a sandwich shop worker who endured her line manager’s wounding comments received substantial compensation (Reilly v RT Management Bridgeton Ltd).
The woman, who was in her probationary period at the shop, was being treated for a number of medical conditions, which amounted to a disability. Her numerous allergies required her to carry an EpiPen. Prior to her dismissal, she had expressed concern about a number of alleged health and safety breaches at the shop, including what she considered an inadequate response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Ruling on her case, an Employment Tribunal (ET) found that her line manager made disparaging comments concerning her appearance and medical conditions. Amongst other things, he laughed whilst waving food to which she was allergic under her nose and made jokes about her committed veganism. Given the number of medical tests and examinations she was undergoing, he referred to her as a ‘science experiment’.
The ET found that the reason or principal reason for her dismissal was that she had made protected disclosures concerning health and safety issues and her entitlement to rest breaks. The line manager’s comments amounted to harassment in that they created an intimidating, hostile, humiliating and offensive working environment for her. They related to her protected characteristics, including her disability and her belief in veganism which was an important part of her life and how she lived it.
The ET awarded her £2,092 in respect of her unfair dismissal and £10,000 for injury to her feelings arising from the harassment. Further awards were made in respect of an unauthorised deduction from her wages and her employer’s refusal to permit her to exercise her right to an uninterrupted rest break.
Expert employment law advice is vital when incidences of harassment are alleged. For guidance, contact Laura Claridge, a senior lawyer in our Employment team on 01689 887873 or email laura.claridge@cwj.co.uk.

Seven of the world’s top ten show jumpers set to compete at
In their most ambitious and exciting Christmas season yet, Trinity present two world premieres and one absolute classic. One theatre, one cast, three shows and something for everyone this December.
The major project is The New Musketeers, a brand-new comedy set in the world of the Three Musketeers… sort of. When a shipwreck leaves the musketeers lost at sea, their hapless servant’s decide to don the iconic uniforms and head for London.
Will they fool the king? Will they save the day? Will they even work out which end of the sword to use?!
The New Musketeers is a rip-roaring comedy adventure with brilliant music, terrible sword fighting and magical designs from Tony Award® winning set designer, Nigel Hook. Don’t miss this truly world class production on our doorstep brought to you by many of the minds behind the world-conquering comedy The Play That Goes Wrong. Jonathan Sayer, artistic director of Mischief Theatre and star of the BBC’s Goes Wrong Show says of the New Musketeers.
“These guys are hilarious, if you’re looking for a chuckle with the family this Christmas, look no further than this!”
Don’t miss this world class comedy sensation from some of the country’s brightest funny bones. Featuring original songs played live by a multitalented cast and swashbuckling sword fights a-plenty.
Trinity has always aimed to entertain everyone and whilst The New Musketeers is suitable for kids 6+ we have made sure there is something for even the smallest theatregoers too. Winnie Southgate’s new play for young audiences is sure to fill the spot. Zany, interactive and downright joyous, The Aliens Who Saved Christmas will have your little ones entranced as they (alongside our lovable, bonkers characters) help the elves in the North Pole build presents in time for Christmas Eve. The theatre say that the show is suitable for ages 2 and up but funny enough to engage those much older. With only 7 performances, we would advise booking that Christmas treat soon.
Last but by no means least is an absolute nostalgia fest, the theatrical equivalent of curling up in front of the fire with a good book.
“These guys are hilarious, if you’re looking for a chuckle with the family this Christmas, look no further than this!”
Trinity presents a live musical radio play version of the classic story, Miracle on 34th Street. Peppered with Christmas carols in stunning four-part harmony and all backed by live piano accompaniment, you’ll watch in awe as seven actors perform every character, and live sound effects are created in front of your eyes.
You may or may not know that the story started life in 1947 as a radio play and this production relives that moment as the audience are invited in to step back in time and as a cast of Hollywood actors perform a live studio recording of one of the greatest stories ever told.
Artistic director Sean Turner added “I could not be more thrilled with this festive offering. It is hard at Christmas to find the right balance to ensure we have something that everyone will enjoy but I really think we’ve managed it this year. Winnie’s play for young people is electric fun and I just know toddlers are going to go wild for it. The New Musketeers has been a labour of love for myself and the other three writers for almost four years now and I can’t wait to let audiences experience it. It’s going to be an absolute blast - think Blackadder meets Father Ted. And Miracle on 34th Street makes me feel all gooey inside every time I watch it - perfect!”
As if that all wasn’t enough, they are also offering a few one off events like Olivier Award Winner Guy Masterson in his one man re-telling of A Christmas Carol, a live broadcast of The Nutcracker from the Royal Opera House, and a special Christmas edition of their monthly comedy club.
So get on down to Royal Tunbridge Wells this Christmas and make great memories at Trinity.

Innovators in later life care, KYN, will be launching a brand new care home in Bromley in February 2023.
The first of its kind, KYN BICKLEY will provide a pioneering approach to care which prioritises the individual – rather than categorising by age or condition.
Created with the highest standards of personalised, holistic care, KYN BICKLEY will challenge the industry’s ‘one size fits all’ model, providing residents with a home that considers physical, emotional and existential health.
Before any resident moves in, KYN takes the time to get to know them, understanding their personality, passions, and individual needs. A bespoke approach is created for each resident, incorporating a personalised care plan with a dedicated nurse, senior carer and support team who share their interests and take care of them like family. Residents are supported as and when required, but emphasis is placed on enabling autonomy, for instance with no set schedule to adhere to (including mealtimes) and an atmosphere that promotes individual pursuits
alongside plenty of opportunities to socialise, building a community and a sense of home.
Tailored care is also blended with an expertise in dementia. This is naturally woven into the KYN BICKLEY offering without compromising on quality. Daily changing menus have an emphasis on fresh ingredients and satisfying flavours tailored to the palates and nutritional needs of residents, and landscaped gardens have been designed with sensory planting to benefit those living with dementia.
Caroline Naidoo, Managing Director of KYN said: “KYN partners with specialist consultants and organisations to understand the very best practice in later life care and ways in which we can adopt this. We want to create an environment unique to each resident – ensuring every person feels at home, while also being able to provide bespoke care as needed. We firmly believe that in de-stigmatising and disrupting later life care, we can help break down societal barriers around age and ageing.”
Leading British interior designer, Nina Campbell, and renowned art curator Adam Ellis, have created chic and authentic spaces for residents, including communal areas such as The Great Room and The Eden Room where residents can enjoy time hosting their own family members.

Is it possible to have facial injectables done without actually looking ‘done?’
Emma Coleman Clinic Director, Aesthetic & Dermatology RGN tells us more
This is something I am asked during aesthetic consultations at my clinics on a daily basis, mostly because clients want to have injectables with the aim of looking fresher, more awake, hydrated and above all, like themselves.
Luckily at Emma Coleman Skin, myself and my colleagues specialise in creating natural results by simply replacing something that has been lost from the face. One example is depletion of fat from the mid and lower face which we all experience as the years pass. This is where we start to see the appearance of under eye hollows, lines on the top lip and jowls along the jawline. These issues can be gently lifted out through application of hyaluronic acid dermal filler. The result is purely dependent on the type and amount of product used, which can be tailored to each individual, and in no way should be obvious to anyone other than the client themselves.
As we age, the face and neck also experience loss of tone, due to depleted levels of skin collagen and elastin fibres which help to maintain lift and
firmness, a bit like scaffolding! Skin boosters are another treatment which we often use in clinic which create a very natural outcome. These hyaluronic acid-rich injectables differ from fillers in that they simply encourage the skin to work harder by promoting new collagen production, creating hydrated, brighter and firmer skin. Skin boosters are injected at a very shallow level, just a few millimetres beneath skins surface, nourishing the epidermis, which make them a bit like having a facial which lasts a very long time - up to six months after just one session. Skin boosters can be applied safely to under eyes, face, neck, décolleté and the hands, and leave a beautiful, healthy glow.
At Emma Coleman Skin clinics in West Wickham and Petts Wood, we offer a safe, professional and client-focused service.

Petal prints are big bloomin’ news this season, says Katie Wright.
Floral prints took a dramatic turn on the AW21 catwalks, by way of dark blooms, sumptuous fabrics and beautiful bouquet embellishments. London Fashion Week designers were leading the charge, with chintzy dresses and frock coats fit for a royal seen at Erdem, Yuhan Wang and Preen, while Temperley’s maxi dresses and separates had a retro 70Seventies feel to them. Now, the high street is giving us fabulous petal-powered pieces to rock day or night.
Here are three key ways to try the dark florals trend…
An absolute autumn/winter essential, floral midi dresses are a massive trend right now, and they’re so easy to style. It’s all about layering – either pop a roll-neck top underneath a V-neck dress, or throw an oversized blazer or slouchy cardigan on top. Complete your look with chunky ankle or kneehigh boots.
Demure enough for daytime but easy to dress up after work, a floral print blouse is a really versatile piece. Team with jeans, boots and statement earrings for a laidback look, or go glam with a leather mini skirt and heels.
Take florals into the festive season with a glitzy frock. A cute cocktail dress in all-over print looks fab with simple strappy heels and a clutch bag, while a show-stopping black maxi dress with flower embellishments is ideal for a winter wedding.

As autumn gets into full swing, the colours we’re pulled towards to build ourselves habitats that make us feel safe, cocooned and calm echo what we can see on the outside (in keeping with the vogue for the allnatural), but with a luxe twist.
With the countdown towards winter marching on, everything seems a bit more difficult. Getting used to, again, the darkness, the drizzle and the dropping temperatures. Let your home shoulder some of the wish-it-was-warmer burden and embrace what the season is offering – a palette of exquisitely rich indulgence, which brings glorious visual warmth to even the frostiest of days.
Sometimes it’s hard to really appreciate the beauty of autumn as the reality that summer’s gone sinks in. The glory of changing leaves on trees appreciated only for fleeting moments, curtains drawn across intense night skies, the odd splash
of sunlight rushed past in a hurry to seek shelter. These dark, rustic shades may seem a little glum when glanced at but complied into an interiors scheme the result is utterly sumptuous.
From the spicy paprika, chilli and cinnamon tones speckled across exhibitions at this year’s directional Salone del Mobile furniture fair, to the reds making their way into the spotlight balanced by flashes of deepest blue, green, and golden ochres, these
“These dark, rustic shades may seem a little glum when glanced at but complied into an interiors scheme the result is utterly sumptuous”
colours are the furniture equivalent of a warming mug of chocolate. Rich, luxurious, and just want you need after a wrapped-in-a-scarf walk, cold commute or snow-tipped trip.
Translating these autumnal hues into something you want to invite indoors is all about materials. This season, we’re looking to the 1970s for inspiration as we are (re)teaming autumn’s lush colouring with similarly luscious finishes – think lashings of velvet for upholstery, and high-shine for hard pieces, the overtly decadent feel balanced by the organic, warm tones. In our collection of
designer sofas and modern chairs, the combination of earthy, natural shades and tactile fabrics says two things: dive right in and bring a blanket, while glossy tables, contemporary storage pieces and statement lights nod to alluring retro 70s glam.
As standalone pieces, the burgundy, red and ochre designs make a bold statement. Sensual. Opulent. Hot hot hot. Place them in pairs and larger groups, and soon you’ll forget that such seasonal photogenic beauty comes with a fall in temperatures – you won’t even mind. Upholstered designs wrap around you, ready to share their anti-winter cosiness, while full on gloss reflects light around the room, adding a flash of energy to the space and reminding us it is ok to venture out. But definitely come back in here soon.

When the Baker family initially approached Origin, they were interested in covering an existing outdoor pool. The family had been in discussion for some time, deciding whether or not the outdoor pool was worthy of undertaking as a project.
“We originally had an outdoor pool which was here when we bought the house, it was in a completely different position from where the indoor pool is now, away from the house and further away than was desirable. We knew we were going to stay at the house for at least another 10 years so, to us, an indoor pool was worth the investment.”
Once the Baker family had settled on the idea of an indoor swimming pool, they reached back out to Origin and the planning began. “We knew Origin did it all and after seeing some of their excellent recently completed projects, we decided
to go for it. With the original outdoor pool, we found it such a task having to ‘prepare’ it for the summer months and expensive to run as well even though we had taken the necessary precautions with a pool cover etc… With an indoor pool it’s a temperature controlled environment and the pool is protected by the building, making it instantly ready for spontaneous swims and family parties!”
The Baker family had done their research and had a strong idea of what their dream pool house would entail. Keeping in mind the budget the Baker family had put forward, it was Origin’s job to deliver a design that captured every element they wanted. As an active family, they longed for an athome gym. Origin kept this in mind and designed additional multifunctional space, separate from the swimming pool that could be used as a gym or potentially turned into an office in the future.
“Origin was great at keeping in mind the limits we had set and we loved working with a company that took our budget seriously and offered plenty of thoughtful and realistic suggestions throughout the whole process”
“The biggest benefit of the indoor pool is definitely being able to swim all year round. It’s invaluable for us, we use the pool house every day and not just for swimming. Someone is always in the gym or relaxing in the lounge area.” In order to enhance the family’s enjoyment of their garden, Origin centralised the Baker family’s key activities. Origin chose a new area of the garden off to the side of the main house for the pool house, keeping it close enough for connectivity and in a position where you can look out over the garden vista and enjoy the space.
“We loved the idea of an indoor pool as another space for entertaining, we like to have friends and family over for dinner and BBQs in the summer. The pool house works as a social hub, it’s the space everyone congregates around!”
To speak to the experts at Origin Leisure call 01895 453996 now or visit originpools.co.uk for more information and to subscribe to our newsletter. Follow us on Instagram too @originpoolsuk
“It was clear from the beginning Origin had earned their credentials as the indoor pool experts, our visits to completed projects confirmed this and made us feel comfortable and confident we were in safe hands. Origin consistently kept us up to date throughout the whole process, we’d have regular meetings to choose finishes which helped us make decisions quickly and move things along smoothly. We were very pleased with the quality of the products offered and the guys that came to work here during the construction process were very knowledgeable and helpful.
Origin excelled at communication throughout this process which is such an important skill for a company to master, especially when you’re entrusting them with a big project like ours. Everyone on site and in the office was approachable, we felt like we could talk to anyone and our questions would be heard. Even when it came to the snagging process, everything was sorted really promptly and to a high standard.”
“Origin know how to create something new in an existing setting and blend all the things you don’t think about like pathways, levels, views, security, and desired routes into the finished article so that it appears like it’s always been there at the end of the project – now that’s impressive”
Adrian Stoneham, Managing Director at Stoneham Kitchens tells us more.
With open plan living, zoned areas are required for different purposes, such as for cooking, dining or relaxing. Another option is an area for entertaining, specifically incorporating a dedicated media wall. With a media wall, you can expect TV units on panelling to hide cables, a clever use of storage, as well as mood lighting. If you are looking to create a zoned area for entertainment that is both practical and stylish then a media wall is the perfect solution.
If you have the space, create a media wall with the TV centre stage, surrounded by plenty of storage. Add beautiful, mirrored cupboards either side of the TV and lower cabinets to run along the full width of the unit – these are ideal for hiding media boxes. You could also add a shelf above with spot lighting to make a feature of any ornaments and other possessions you want to display.
For a minimalist design, add a media wall in your kitchen/diner. Placing it directly opposite the kitchen and dining area will allow you to entertain while cooking and dining. Keep it simple by incorporating low-level media cupboards with LED strip lighting to add warmth to the area. The surface of the cupboards also gives you extra space for displaying items.
Media wall for at-home working Media walls aren’t just great for entertaining, but also for working from home. Mount your TV on panelling to conceal unsightly cables and add recessed shelves for displaying media units or office essentials. Position a table in front of the screen to create the ideal working space.
For a large open plan space, convert one corner into a comfy media area with dedicated recesses for your TV and shelving, giving a sleek, modern look. To create a cosy feel, think about adding warmth with wood in a soft colour palette for shelves and lowlevel media cabinets.
For a natural element, add timber, such as walnut to create a border around your media area, encasing the TV and making it a key focal point in the room. Position the TV so it is the perfect height for viewing from a kitchen island or table, so you can entertain while cooking and dining.

What is the Best Restaurant in the London Suburbs? According to the British Curry Awards 2022, also known as the ‘Curry Oscars’, it is the Copper Ceylon Restaurant in Bromley. The Copper Ceylon is also the first Sri Lankan restaurant to pick up a British Curry Award since they began in 2005.
We’ll be making a bee line for the restaurant in the New Year. It makes the most of its weekend offering in particular, being open on Fridays and Saturdays between 10am and 2pm, when it has a DJ and a lineup of entertainers from belly dancers to fire eaters. Maybe we’ll go in those hours and try out some cocktails while we’re at it.
It wasn’t long ago that the Copper Ceylon was also named the Sri Lankan Curry Restaurant of the Year in the London Curry Awards 2022.
Cllr Hannah Gray, Mayor of Bromley, who was present at the British Curry Awards ceremony, has said, “I have been involved with and supported events at the Copper Ceylon restaurant and Haran and his team have been incredibly generous and provided a great experience every time. I am delighted they won their category in such a prestigious annual awards ceremony.”
Owner Haran Thurairajah wants to go further, “Now we are so proud of what we have achieved in such a short period of time. We are looking to build on this foundation to be one of the best Srilanka restaurants in the world.”
What can you (and we) sample at the Copper Ceylon restaurant? Homely hospitality and Sri
Lankan cuisine from street food to dishes that Sri Lankans eat at home. Flavours you simply won’t get in Indian, Thai and Chinese restaurants, from the Hot Batter Squid to the Hoppers, Roti, and Sambols, Jaffna Mutton Curry, Pork Black Curry, and Pumpkin Mustard Curry, and from the dessert menu, Watalappan, a traditional Sri Lankan desert made using coconut milk, cardamom, eggs, kithul and nutmeg.
The restaurant has an outstanding Christmas menu and, with owner Haran a frequent flier to Sri Lanka to research new dishes, more will be added in the New Year and beyond. Why not try out Bromley’s latest award-winning restaurant for yourself? THE DETAILS

Hospices of Hope is making an urgent Christmas Appeal for its Ukrainian partner hospice, the Regional Palliative Care Centre in Western Ukraine, as it battles to provide desperately-needed help for war-stricken patients.
The RPCC is providing care to 8,000 refugees as well as supporting an additional 150 palliative care patients on top of their own - only 40 km from a major power station targeted by Russian missiles. Against the deadly bombardment of war, its nurses are risking their lives each day by taking out the brand new ambulance (partially funded by Hospices of Hope donors) to reach stricken patients in makeshift shelters. As Russian attacks continue relentlessly and Ukraine faces major blackouts, a vital generator (provided by Hospices of Hope donors) enables the RPCC to continue to provide vital medical services for its patients. (This precious generator is also shared with the local church). Hospices of Hope would like to give a huge thank you to those that have responded to the charity’s Help for Ukraine Appeal over the past months. With your help, the charity’s partner hospices in Romania and Moldova have been able to provide practical help and vital medical services to Ukrainian families fleeing from devastating Russian assault on their country – and further, the Charity has also been able to provide help directly to Ukraine.
Cancer stops for no one - whether in war or peace. Ukrainian patients desperately need the continuity of medical care. It is a terrible situation – that, in one moment, Ukrainian patients, fighting for their lives from terminal illness, should then be plunged into a deadly war.
Hospices of Hope is issuing an emergency appeal to all readers of this article for vital donations to enable the Charity to help the Regional Palliative Care Centre in Ukraine as it battles on to care for its refugee patients.
With your much-needed support, Hospices of Hope can continue to help Ukrainian patients in their hour of need. You can donate on their website www.hospicesofhope.co.uk or via the QR code opposite. If you’d like to talk to a member of the Hospices of Hope Team for further information please ring: 01959 525110.
A heart thank you from Hospices of Hope. We wish you a happy, peaceful, safe Christmas.

Ambiance Fitology Kitchen is a boutique restaurant and cocktail bar, Set in the heart of Chislehurst serving a 75% Healthy Plant Based & Vegetarian menu. The venue is stylishly decorated with an eclectic mix of vibrant colours and a lush 1st floor terrace, overlooking one of Chislehurst’s two beautiful ponds. This is especially popular in the Summer and provides a real “Mediterranean” feel. We visited on a Friday evening recently, the restaurant had enough diners to make for a pleasant dining atmosphere without being crowded.
We were greeted by Jade, who was friendly and also had a great knowledge of the dishes on offer and was able to guide us through the menu comfortably, evidently having enjoyed them herself previously.
As mentioned the menu is 75% plant based, but there are sustainably sourced chicken and salmon dishes available for “die hard” carnivores. To begin we went for the sharing platter, which included olives, with a wonderful home made sun dried tomato dip, beetroot hummus, guacamole, tzatziki, sour dough bread and tortilla chips. There are extras that can be added and we complimented the above, with some delicious plant based halloumi cheese and succulent chicken skewers which were cooked to perfection.
For mains, I went for the plant based mac & cheese. This dish is a favourite of mine and I found that this plant based version, provided all of the taste you would expect, but was a lot lighter avoiding the bloated feeling you might expect. My partner went for something a little different and opted for the Italian chicken burger with a charcoal brioche bun. The activated charcoal used to create black burger buns has detoxifying properties making the dish a little more guilt-free! This was served with home-made baked sweet potato fries and a rocket, seeds and paprika garnish. All of which was cooked to perfection.
To accompany our food we went for a medium bodied Argentinian malbec, which was very fruit forward with a velvety texture and intense fruit

flavours. We also took the opportunity of enjoying a cocktail. My partner decided on a mojito which had exactly the right blend of minty freshness and citrus flavour too it, whilst I went for strawberry daiquiri which was pleasantly sweet with just the right back end of rum on the finish.

If it’s glamour you want, whether in Soho or in the City, Bob Bob Ricard is the perfect destination. The original Soho restaurant opened nearly 15 years ago, and was designed by David Collins Studio. Sister restaurant – Bob Bob Ricard City – opened nearly three years ago in the Leadenhall Building (aka ‘the cheesegrater’), and it retains all of the hallmark design and culinary features of Soho – including intimate booth dining, the signature French/British menus, and the now iconic ‘Press for Champagne’ button.
The City site has been designed by the flamboyant talent of Shayne Bradley, taking inspiration from the Royal Yacht Britannia and the modern-day super yachts. Every table has a booth, providing a sophisticated and intimate dining environment. There are also three private rooms, each seating up to 18 guests, with the full à la carte menu available for business or private dining.
From Caviar to Chicken Kyiv and Beef Wellington, the menus focus on luxury comfort food fit for any occasion. The intriguing range of signature French and English classic dishes reinvented with the finest ingredients also have a slight nod to eastern Europe. Other menu highlights include Chicken and Champagne pie; Lobster, crab and shrimp pelmeni; Truffle macaroni cheese; Châteaubriand; Salmon en croute with Champagne sauce; Steak tartare; Flaming crème brûlée flambéed at the table; and Tarte Tatin served with Calvados ice cream and caramel sauce.
Bob Bob Ricard City is open Tuesday-Saturday Noon-Midnight. (The restaurant will be closed from 25 December 2022 - 16 January 2023 inclusive) The Leadenhall Building, Level 3, 122 Leadenhall Street, London EC3V 4AB.

Luxe-for-less means that Champagne and wines are presented at remarkably reasonable prices. A decade ago, Bob Bob Ricard’s owner made the bold and customer-friendly initiative to cap mark-ups on fine wines at just £50, resulting in some of the best ‘bargains’ in the capital. Bob Bob Ricard is also the only restaurant endorsed by Château d’Yquem to serve their wine by the glass, and is responsible for selling 1% of the entire 1998 harvest. Champagne also features prominently at the restaurant, with more than 25 options available by the bottle, and nine by the glass.
Service is another crucial factor to Bob Bob Ricard’s enduring success. The front-of-house team mixes absolute professionalism with a friendly approach to its guests, always mindful that many customers are celebrating important occasions and keen to explore and enjoy the luxury treats on the menu
