SECURITY

WESTMINSTER SECURITY Professionals In Protection…Always On Guard.

T

he world has never been a more dangerous place in modern times, feeling vulnerable and let down by police and government security services to protect them, more people are turning to private security for their property and personal protection. Close protection is a specialist security service often thought to be the reserve of the ‘rich and famous’. However, in the face of police cutbacks, an increase in crime, and global terrorism, close protection services have become ever more popular with families and business owners. So, what is close protection and what does it entail? Close protection more commonly referred to as bodyguard services, or personal protection, is the provision of physical personal security

to protect a person or group of people from harm or attack be it targeted, a general local threat, perceived or inherited threat and risk. Essentially, it is hiring bodyguards. Not your stereotypical burly bodyguard romanticised and depicted in TV and film, but a discrete non-imposing, non-threatening, professional close protection operative (CPO) embedded with a family or company that does not draw unwanted or unwarranted attention by undesirables. They are typically from a military or police background using their vast training and experience to blend in and keep clients safe from danger. Despite how bodyguards are perceived, close protection operatives do not spend each day fighting toe-to-toe with enemies. Research and planning are key, identifying potential threats and risks, and avoiding any verbal or physical altercations at all costs. Real-world bodyguards can blend in as family members, work colleagues, drivers, PAs, or nannies. Female bodyguards are increasingly popular with high-networth families for their stealth ability and emotional intelligence. With close protection being such a vital service for high-profile and high-risk individuals and families it is important to hire bodyguards through a highly credible, experienced, and established security company that is licensed and insured to provide such services. It is worth noting that household staffing agencies cannot legally satisfy these prerequisites. Westminster Security is a leading close protection company in the UK providing an array of personal security services in London, throughout the home counties, and beyond. “The Eyes That Speak Volumes”

WRITTEN BY SHEILA SMITH

O

n the 1st of October, Lana Arkhi debuted her highly anticipated art exhibition titled “The Eyes That Speak Volumes” at the prestigious Royal Albion Hotel. This captivating collection showcased the portraits of renowned musicians such as David Bowie, Amy Winehouse, Elvis Presley, Tina Turner, Jimi Hendrix, Kate Bush, Mick Jagger, Iggy Pop, George Michael and John Lennon, and many more. Lana’s artistic portrayal of these iconic figures at the exhibition was truly impressive. It attracted an overwhelming number of visitors, making it a resounding success. The allure of the exhibition stemmed from its ability to capture not only the physical likeness but also the depth and emotion conveyed through their eyes. The stunning visuals and vibrant colours used in each artwork mesmerized visitors and left them in awe. The opening of the exhibition proved to be an extraordinary occasion as Lana unveiled a captivating new portrait. The subject of the artwork turned out to be none other than the renowned musician, Ed Sheeran. What made this revelation even more remarkable was the unexpected coincidence that unfolded during that very same week - Ed Sheeran released his highly anticipated new album, titled “Autumn Variations.” The synchronicity of these events added an element of surprise and intrigue to both the exhibition and the music industry, leaving audiences captivated by this unexpected twist of fate. It’s as if the universe conspired to bring together these two incredible artists in a

moment of synchronicity. The release of Ed Sheeran’s album, filled with soulful melodies and heartfelt lyrics, perfectly complemented Lana Arkhi’s captivating portrayal of him through her artistic lens. “I always strive to make my exhibitions memorable and unique,” says Lana Arkhi. “This time, I wanted to surprise my visitors with a brand new portrait of a beloved artist. His talent and incredible music resonate deeply with me, so I decided that having his portrait would be an absolute showstopper for my collection.” This extraordinary coincidence not only showcases the immense talent of both Ed Sheeran and Lana Arkhi but also serves as a testament to the power of art and music to touch our souls. It’s moments like these that remind us of the magic that can be found in unexpected encounters and collaborations. lanaarkhi.com lana.arkhi@gmail.com

GABRIELLE CHANEL: FASHION MANIFESTO

GABRIELLE ‘COCO’ CHANEL WAS THE FIRST SUPERSTAR FASHION DESIGNER, SAYS CURATOR OF V&A EXHIBITION. BY KATIE WRIGHT

48 NOVEMBER 2023

A

s well as introducing groundbreaking garments for women, Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel embodied her brand in a way no other designer had done before, a new exhibition highlights. Gabrielle Chanel. Fashion Manifesto – at London’s V&A Museum – traces the life and work of the famed French designer, who was born in the Loire Valley in 1883 and taught to sew by nuns in the orphanage to which she was sent aged 11, when her mother died. “Before her, designers weren’t really known,” says Oriole Cullen, curator of modern textiles and fashion and the V&A. “Their names were known, but they weren’t visible figures within society.” Starting out as a seamstress and cabaret singer, before establishing herself as milliner, Chanel later turned her focus to couture fashion and began designing casual clothing for women, inspired by the menswear of the era. “The Chanel brand as it stands [today] is really based on these ideas that she ushered in 100 years ago,” Cullen says, which is where the exhibition title comes from. “The meaning of that is really about a template that Gabrielle Chanel set out at the very beginning of her design career and came back to, reimagined and reinvented throughout her long career of sixty years.” Bringing together nearly 200 outfits, the show features items from the opening of her first millinery boutique in Paris in 1910, to the showing of her final collection, two weeks after she died in 1971. Signature designs on display include little black dresses, tweed suits and quilted leather handbags – the most iconic of which is the

2.55 bag. “The 2.55 has never really gone out of fashion since she designed it in 1955,” Cullen says. “That is fascinating in terms of high fashion, that an object can stay the course for such a long time and still be relevant.” Part of the upper echelons of French society, Chanel initially relied on wealthy lovers, such as French ex-cavalry officer Etienne Balsan and English polo player Arthur Edward ‘Boy’ Capel to fund her boutiques. Later becoming a celebrity in her own right, she amassed a personal fortune, thanks to the success of her fashion, accessories and cosmetics lines. “The perfume Chanel No5 was introduced in 1921, but then introducing make-up in 1924 and skincare in 1927, she was really ahead of her time,” Cullen says. “It’s something she was doing because she was designing for herself.” Chanel is credited with helping to liberate women from the constricting corsets and long skirts that were de rigeur at the turn of the century, and for popularising softer textiles, such as jersey. “She cuts her garments with high armholes, so you can lift your arms over your head,” Cullen continues. “She thinks about fabrics that are practical, and skirt lengths you can move in.” The exhibition – which was originally staged at Paris’s Palais Galliera in 2020 – highlights the brand’s UK and Ireland connections via British Chanel Limited. “This was an umbrella company set up in 1932 to work with an array of British textile manufacturers,” Cullen explains. “From lace in Nottingham, cotton velvets from Manchester, wools from Huddersfield, and also voiles and silks from Carlisle. “One of the other companies she worked with was the Old Bleach Linen Company, which is based in Randalstown in Northern Ireland.” Split into 10 sections, the exhibition concludes with a recreation of the mirrored staircase from Chanel’s Paris atelier. “Gabrielle Chanel used to sit at the top of the stairs when she was having presentations,” Cullen explains. “The models would descend and this faceted mirror would reflect back the audience’s faces to her, so she could read the mood in the room.” Tickets available at vam.ac.uk/chanel. ST DUNSTAN’S COLLEGE

wins prestigious fundraising award

S

t Dunstan’s College, south London, is delighted to reveal it has been honoured for its fundraising at the Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2023. The College was awarded Outstanding Fundraising Achievement of the Year at the ceremony, which took place in central London in October and brought together educators from across the country. Speaking about the award, St Dunstan’s Director of Development, Isabelle Blake-James, explained: ‘We were thrilled to win the award for Outstanding Fundraising Achievement of the Year. Raising £1M in just under three years since the initial set up of the College’s first Development Office is something we can all be proud of. But above all, it is knowing how many disadvantaged and deserving children from Lewisham borough who have benefited from a bursary which is truly heartwarming. ‘We can only thank our generous donors for winning this award which belongs to them first and foremost.’ Despite the challenges of the last three years, the Development Office has continued to raise money which go towards the school’s charity and community outreach, including bursaries and local partnerships. Most

52 NOVEMBER 2023

recently, the office held its first telephone campaign raising more than £100,000 in two weeks. The latest award comes at an exciting time for the College. Earlier this year, the College was named Most Progressive Independent School in London at the Private Education Awards, and last year the school won Independent Senior School of the Year at the Tes Schools Awards, which are known as the Oscars of Education. Judge David James has worked in independent schools for over 20 years and is an experienced inspector for the Independent Schools Inspectorate. He said: ‘There’s a very clear and coherent vision of what they want to do, both with the curriculum and the local community.” “The head is asking interesting questions of the sector, including areas like privilege and responsibility, which go beyond the usual platitudes. It’s a really interesting school in a tough market, trying to not just survive but actually make something different for the children and families they’re working with.” Find out more about St Dunstan’s bursary and scholarships programme at one of their upcoming open events. INSPIRING BRILLIANT FUTURES IN THE HEART OF DULWICH

R

osemead Preparatory School and Nursery, Dulwich, south London, is an independent, co-educational day prep school for children aged 2 and half to 11. The school’s motto ‘Inspiring Brilliant Futures’ is at the forefront of all the school does. Their focus is providing a unique education to each and every child, nurturing their individual strengths, interests and needs. Speaking about the school, newly-appointed Head, Graeme McCafferty says: ‘At Rosemead, we strive to provide a balanced curriculum that nurtures the holistic development of each child. While academic achievement is important, we firmly believe that education should encompass much more than just exams and grades. ‘Our approach is centered around ensuring that your child receives a well-rounded education that includes a strong emphasis on Music, Art, Drama, and Sport, without compromising on academic excellence.’ ‘Every year, we witness the artistic talents of our children as they win National Art Awards and perform in breathtaking productions. Moreover, our sporting achievements are equally commendable, with several students qualifying and competing at the National Athletics competition in Birmingham this year.’ Most recently, Rosemead merged with St Dunstan’s College to create a community of schools consisting of St Dunstan’s Junior School, St Dunstan’s Senior School and Rosemead Preparatory School. Speaking about the merger, Rosemead Head, Graeme McCafferty explained: ‘This is such an incredible opportunity for sharing best practice, working collaboratively and sharing experience to make all schools in the community unique, excellent educational establishments. We have a shared vision to provide an ambitious, forward-thinking education to the young people under our care and to ensure that, in so doing, we both inspire and support each child to thrive as an individual.’ He added: ‘There are numerous advantages presented by the merger. For children, we can share facilities, resources and learning opportunities. For staff, we can share best practice and work collaboratively through staff training and development. It is probably the most exciting and significant development for Rosemead in its 80-year history.’ Find out more about Rosemead Preparatory School and Nursery at one of their upcoming open events. ueen Ethelburga’s Collegiate (QE) in North Yorkshire is inspiring its students to be lifelong learners, meaningful contributors to society and well-rounded individuals with success measured beyond excellent academic grades. The Collegiate is dedicated to ensuring that its students are ready for further education, for independent living post-boarding, and for future workplaces, wherever they might be. Women have been shooting in dresses for hundreds of years, but shooting-specific tailoring for us has never been a thing - we’ve only ever been given the Gentlemen’s section in a smaller size. As someone from BASC once told me so succinctly - they just “shrink it and pink it.” Austuin does things wildly differently. Go back to black this season with the catwalk-inspired trend

can bank on black. And as designers ditch colour in their collections and crave the fluid, liquid lines of fashion’s darkest and most addictive shade, you can embrace mood-boosting monochrome and jet black without any fear of making a fashion faux pas – or bad buy. From a showy shoulder at Balmain – who would have thought that a PVC maxi dress could look even more sultry? …To sexy, slinky sequins at Michael Kors; tailored, long black coats (LBC) at Max Mara, Dolce & Gabbana, Victoria Beckham and Prada, black is more than a shot in the dark this season – and the devil is in the detail. To get the catwalk look, here’s what’s hot on the high street and will make a great first impression…

Call it the power blazer, Le Smoking, or straightforward tailored trouser suit, this is your wardrobe staple to look sharp. “The trouser suit is an icon of sophistication and confidence,” says Zoe de Abreu, co-founder of Ro&Zo. “A black blazer matched with trousers will be the perfect companion for all occasions, as it transcends perfectly from day to night.” For a dare-to-bare aesthetic, go topless underneath – apart from a sexy black bralette – and accessorise with a cosmic choker or pukka set of pearls.

Ladylike lace has been reimagined with trims adorning jersey and velvet – and it’s made a beeline for the little black dress. As Peacock puts it: “A sharply tailored black coat is a true investment piece, which is both functional and stylish.” “With the ability to style casually or formally, it will be a go-to during the colder months for years to come.” NOVEMBER 2023 67

xclusive to Dr Sebagh’s flagship Clinic at Chandos House, a beautiful Grade 1 listed London townhouse, tucked away in the heart of the West End. Also known as the ‘Glass Skin Facial’, this brand new facial treatment combines cutting-edge ultrasound technology with a bespoke application of Dr Sebagh Advanced Ageing-Maintenance Skin Care products for a truly lifted, sculpted and tightened visage. First, skin is cleansed and exfoliated before being prepped for treatment with the Ultralift machine. Ultralift uses multi-functional highintensity focused ultrasound (MultiFunctional HIFU) to stimulate skin rejuvenation by triggering the body’s natural process of collagen synthesis. Warm pulses of ultrasound energy are delivered deep under the skin, causing the muscle layer to contract. The gentle heat also encourages a natural process of rejuvenation stimulating collagen production. After 10 minutes of treatment with the Ultralift machine, our facialist, Bella Ross, will blend a cocktail of serums from Dr Sebagh’s infamous Serum Bar tailored to each individual’s skin needs and suitable for use after treatment with MultiFunctional HIFU. Immediately following The Ultralift Facial your skin should feel tighter, smoother and more youthful. What is the Ultralift Facial? FOCUS ON: PINNAPLASTY Prominent ears are something a person is born with or that develops in early childhood. Pinnaplasty (the pinning back of the ears) is a procedure where an incision is made behind the ear to enable the manipulation of the cartilage’s shape with permanent internal sutures. Who is it for? Surgery is usually performed on children from five years old (when the cartilage is mature and stiff enough for a surgical correction to be stable) up to their late teens. Adults can also have pinnaplasty under local anaesthesia. Why get surgery? Ears can draw attention by being prominent (sticking out) which is the most common presentation. They can also be asymmetric or have failed to correctly form, meaning the subtle curves of the ear are missing. What are the types of treatment? For newborns, the shape can be improved with external moulding splints which need to be fitted in the first few months. Splints are ineffective for children over the age of five. After this period, surgery is the most effective course of action. Chris Abela is an experienced reconstructive and cosmetic surgeon. He prides himself on providing each individual with a professional, bespoke and compassionate approach with a gentle bedside manner and discretion at the heart of every consultation. He has clinics at 84 Harley Street, 102 Sydney Street, Chelsea and at Wimbledon Parkside.

7 PENDANT LIGHTS that pass the test of time

STEP INTO A WORLD OF TIMELESS ELEGANCE AND DESIGN INNOVATION AS WE EXPLORE THE ENCHANTING REALM OF ICONIC 20TH-CENTURY PENDANT LIGHTS. THESE LUMINOUS FORMS NOT ONLY BRIGHTEN THE HOME BUT ALSO SERVE AS UNFORGETTABLE SYMBOLS OF AN ERA MARKED BY ARTISTIC EXPRESSION AND AVANT-GARDE CREATIVITY.

W

hen darkness draws in, it’s lighting that transforms our spaces into homes: cosy sanctuaries we look forward to all day and bask in into the evening. For decades, the centre-of-the-room pendant has been ‘the main light’, ‘the big light’ – and while floor, table and wall lighting has had its moment (and is vital to light-layering), focus is now back on what’s hanging from the ceiling. The pendant light is unique as a design object. Suspended with only a slim wire, it’s not limited by the pull of gravity or the need to support itself, and is viewed from 360-degrees, presenting an unusual creative challenge and opportunity. Simultaneously projecting and directing as well as filtering light and protecting eyes from glare, pendants must combine the decorative and the sculptural with the practical, setting the room’s ambiance with its soft, bright, warm, cool, focused or dispersed glow as well as being aesthetically pleasing in its own right. The perfect pendant. It’s a task designers have been perfecting since light came from oil and wax. As lighting developed alongside 88 NOVEMBER 2023

technology, pendants have come to encompass both functionality and the understanding of light’s power to alter the environment, as well as be a visual focus point. Designers explored innovative ways to manipulate incandescence and electricity, experimenting with materials, textures, and finishes, evolving pendants not only as sources of luminosity but also as expressions of artistry. From the ornate gas lamps of the 19th century to the 20th century’s streamlined mid-century forms, each era has left its distinctive mark on pendant light legacy with unforgettable, standout concepts. These iconic pendants have become timeless symbols of innovation, embodying the spirit of their respective epochs while continuing to inspire and captivate with their enduring beauty and functional brilliance. Whether enduring classics that transcend eras or symbolic pieces of the periods in which they were conceived, our curated selection of iconic pendant lighting is a journey through the evolution of design and illumination. Each piece is a testament to the creative genius of its time, ensuring that it will never go out of style. Together they form a gallery of fixtures that not only brighten the home but also narrate the tapestry of design history.

STILNOVO

Sputnik Suspension Lamp Designed in 1957, Stilnovo’s Sputnik Suspension Lamp is a striking embodiment of mid-century modernism that has endured as a bold and timeless icon. Inspired – unsurprisingly – by the space age and the launch of the first artificial satellite, the pendant is composed of

celestial-style radiating arms, each tipped with a glowing bulb, capturing the era’s fascination with all things cosmic. Now a cherished symbol of progressive 20th century design, it infuses spaces with a charming sense of the retrofuturistic.

LOUIS POULSEN

PH 5 Pendant Light Created by revered Danish architect and designer Poul Henningsen in 1958, the Louis Poulsen PH 5 Pendant Light revolutionised the way we perceive and use light. A lasting symbol of eternal elegance and lighting innovation, the PH5 combines functional brilliance with aesthetic beauty, its arrangement of layered, curved shades ensuring even illumination while minimising glare, its recognisable silhouette placing it in the design history book as shining example of Danish creative excellence.

VERPAN

Fun 11DM Pendant Light Verner Panton First produced in 1964 by avant-garde Danish design visionary Verner Panton, the Verpan 11DM Pendant Light transcends convention with its mesmeric creativity. Dripping with cascading mother of pearl discs, the pendant evokes a sense of otherworldly allure, which is heightened when the discs flutter in the breeze. The playful yet elegant design

dances between the realms of sculpture and lighting, casting an entrancing, ethereal glow when illuminated, and announcing the piece an emblem of the mid-century modern design era’s spirit of experimentation.

GUBI

Multi-Lite Pendant Light Devised by innovative Danish designer Louis Weisdorf in 1972, Gubi’s Multi-Lite Pendant Light is all about customisation. Its two shades can be independently rotated to adjust the direction and spread of the light to create different effects and atmospheres within a room – upwards for a soft, ambient glow, down for a more focused beam, or artistically arranged simply to look good. Seamlessly blending form and function, the inimitable pendant is a symbol of mid-century modern design’s timelessness and adaptability.

FLOS

Viscontea Pendant Light Created in 1960 by the celebrated Italian design brothers Achille & Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, the Flos Viscontea Pendant Light attains its iconic status through a harmonious fusion of art and illumination. Inspired by the cocoon of the silkworm, it casts a soft and ethereal lighting effect that diffuses warm and gentle illumination, its organic aesthetic giving it the feel of a contemporary design despite its grand age.

&TRADITION

Utzon JU1 Pendant Light Developed in 1947 by ground-breaking Danish architect (and Sydney Opera House designer) Jørn Utzon, the &Tradition Utzon JU1 Pendant Light encapsulates the eternal essence of Danish design. Drawing inspiration from the elegant simplicity of nature, its distinctive, sculptural shape exudes a sense of beauty and tranquillity. Diffusing soft, ambient light while serving as a captivating focal point, it transcends eras and zietgeist with its graceful aesthetic an effortless blend of art and utility.

FRITZ HANSEN

Kaiser idell Pendant Light Conceived by pioneering German designer Christian Dell in 1931, Fritz Hansen’s Kaiser Idell pendant is a masterpiece of Modernist design that embodies the elegance of pure simplicity. A testament to the Bauhaus principle of form following function, its renowned domed shade casts focused and glare-free illumination with easy minimalism. Its status as an icon of design excellence endures, a testament to the influence of Bauhaus design principles. chaplins.co.uk NOVEMBER 2023 89

A grand entrance

A

new staircase can completely transform a hallway, not just in the way it looks but how the space is used. Assessing the available space and rearranging the layout of the hallway to use the space more efficiently can add valuable square metres to a home’s entrance. A specialist staircase designer will consider all options, including changing the staircase direction to create a better flow of movement, using an open tread design to maximise natural light and reviewing materials used to ensure the stair is in keeping with the period of the property. Sometimes it can mean commissioning a whole new staircase while other times, changing the balustrade on an existing structure will make all the difference. The first thing to get right is the layout. The space may suit a helical, a winder, a spiral or a straight staircase, each with its own set

of pros and cons. A staircase specialist will have the experience to see solutions where others might not; offering different layout options and multiple staircase ideas, explaining the benefits of each one. The staircase should integrate perfectly with the property it is designed for. Only 60% of the design is about the staircase, 40% is about how it interfaces with the property. Bisca will incorporate materials, textures and colours from the interior scheme into the new staircase, so it’s a perfect fit in the home. Handcrafted balustrades and handrails in natural materials are popular and can be adapted to suit any interior, from a period home full of classical features to a contemporary new build. Balustrades can be designed to make a big impact or add subtle elegance - a traditional staircase will look entirely different with forged steel uprights and a handrail in polished wood. Driven by an ethos centred around environmental sustainability, Bisca places a strong focus on sourcing materials responsibly, upcycling and creating strong partnerships with suppliers who share the same values. Bisca’s award-winning staircases are built entirely in the company’s own workshop in North Yorkshire. Each commission is the handiwork of a dedicated team of multi-skilled craftspeople who combine traditional disciplines, including metalwork, blacksmithing, cabinetry, joinery and leatherworking with precision-engineered designs and modern materials. “We would highly recommend”

Really pleased with the design, installation we received from Kitchen Elegance. Lots of consultation as we were fitting out 4 bedrooms, an office, lounge & utility. We worked with the designer from start to end to achieve the results we envisaged. The fitter was assigned for all the works in every room & his attention to detail was second to none. He was very polite & any minor changes he was able to accommodate for us. We would highly recommend. We used Kitchen Elegance in our previous home & they never fail to deliver. Thank you to all the team. – Mrs G

“I’m thrilled with everything”

Excellent advice on the designs for my en-suite and bathroom by a very capable designer. The bathroom fitter recommended by Bathroom Elegance was absolutely fantastic and added some useful ideas. His work was second to none! I’m thrilled with everything and would highly recommend both Bathroom Elegance and their recommended bathroom fitter. – Mrs D

“Very professional with beautiful bathroom furniture”

We were recommended Bathroom Elegance by a friend. We had a small bathroom but wanted a new modern design with an additional shower cubicle added. This was a full refit with a corner wall taken down. The designer supported us from day 1 and advised us what could look best while being practical for our small footprint (I wanted the sink & giant bath that wouldn’t fit!). We had a really positive experience from their showroom through to completion. Very professional with beautiful bathroom furniture. – Mr S

INTERIOR TRENDS OF 2024: PREDICTED BY WALLSAUCE

L

et Wallsauce inspire your year ahead with its top interior trends predicted to take over homes in 2024. From the trends of 2023 that will continue through 2024 to new ideas that will inspire your next projects, here’s what to expect for the year ahead.

1100 88 N ON V EE M ER JU 2B 02 3 2023

Raw Textures Evolve

In 2023, the industry saw stone textures emerging. Whether it has sculptured our vases or adorned our walls, the texture of stone has introduced raw design. Moving into 2024, we predict raw design to continue developing with the resurgence of marble and concrete. An easy way to achieve this look is with a surface texture wall mural. Whether you want the sophisticated marble look or the industrial look of concrete and rust, Wallsauce has a wealth of raw textured murals to choose from.

Vibrant Colours

Despite raw textures becoming a trend, we also predict that vibrant colours will be on the agenda in 2024. Completely contrasting, this happy trend will bring positive vibes to any room. German artist Andrea Haase has a beautifully vibrant mural collection at Wallsauce. The detailing in her jungle designs is phenomenal, and her choice of colour palette is just what your home needs in 2024.

Metallic Accents

Complementing both raw textures and vibrant colours, Wallsauce predicts hints of metallic accents will adorn your interior design. One of the best ways of achieving this look is with one of the marble or watercolour murals at Wallsauce. Many of the designs have that luxurious gold strip running through them! But don’t go overboard with this trend! It’s all about the hints.

Biophilia everywhere!

In 2022, Wallsauce predicted that in 2023 biophilia would be the must-have trend for bedrooms. However, it’s gone further than that. Expect to see more biophilia around homes, especially workspaces, if you’re still lucky enough to work from home! The population will continue to look for how to bring the outdoors in. Wallsauce has a best-selling jungle collection that is great for bringing in biophilia design. Team these murals with many house plants and straw textures to complete the interior trend. wallsauce.com

RESIN BOUND SURFACING You can rely on us to provide the highest service and best quality materials

R

esin bound surfacing is a highly decorative procedure that combines a two part UV Polymer resin with a kiln-dried natural aggregate. It is mixed together in a forced-action mixer and then hand-trowelled onto a suitable surface (Tarmacadam or concrete). It is laid to a depth of 18-22mm depending on the use of the area and the size of the aggregate used. It can be laid to eradicate all undulations ie. Puddle-forming areas and existing imperfections, to leave a smooth, seamless, non slip finish. For 20 years national companies have been at the forefront of Dorset’s home improvements industry.
