Lavender has been grown in and around Hitchin for hundreds of years and museum is homage to this. Perks and Llewellyn was an apothecary located in Hitchin town centre until the 1960’s, Hitchin Historical Society have kindly loaned us much of the shops furniture and its artefacts which help give visitors an insight into the use of lavender throughout Victorian times.
We have over 30 acres of lavender containing a wide range of varieties for you to explore. You’ll be able to wander wherever you like within the field and pick some lavender to take home with you. We’ll provide a paper bag for collecting lavender which can be picked up at the entrance to the field. We kindly request that you bring your own scissors to help support our additional safety measures currently in place due to COVID-19. We advise that the lavender should only be cut from the sides of the bushes, not from the top. Our main flowering season is between mid-June and late August. Amateur photography is welcomed!
We have many varieties of British wild flowers in our meadow
including Common Knapweed, Lady’s Bedstraw, Poppy, Tufted Vetch, Cornflower and Field Forget-Me-Not. The meadow can be found towards the right hand side of our main field and will usually be in flower from early summer.
Our top tips for growing lavender at home:
Ideally, lavender prefers to be planted in a porous soil, such as sand or chalk. Chalk is ideal as it is slightly alkaline and allows for rain water to permeate through.
Lavender can grow in a non-porous soil, such as clay, if sand or grit or something that allows drainage is mixed in.
Here at the farm, we’re lucky to have ideal growing conditions as the soil is chalky and the slope of our field allows for a high amount of surface run-off, meaning that our lavender doesn’t sit in water for too long.
Lavender likes to be in a place that will get a lot of sun but so long as the plant is well aerated, it will still thrive.

When first planted, lavender needs help to become established in the ground and will need watering for the first seven to ten days or so. Once established, it won’t need any additional watering aside from incidental rainfall. If you’re planning to keep your lavender plant in a pot you will however, need to keep watering it occasionally. It doesn’t necessarily need any extra feed to help it become established.

greenery, making it a good option for domestic use.
There can be flexibility when it comes to harvesting your lavender stems. If you’re cutting your plant for fresh flowers, you can cut them whenever you like. For dried lavender, they should ideally be picked just before the petals (corollas) open up.
When pruning, stems should be cut above the greenery, about two inches above the old wood. This will allow for new growth for next season. If the stem is cut too far down into the old wood, it can damage or even kill off a plant. Lavender will survive just as happily if pruned once the lavender heads have lost all their colour.
There are 39 species of lavender worldwide and within each species there are hundreds of varieties, meaning that there are many different colours, scents and foliage types to choose from.
We have 2 main species that are farmed at Hitchin Lavender. They are Lavandula Angustifolia and Lavandula x Intermedia, although you’ll be able to see 60 varieties growing in our display field and 10 varieties in our main field.
Angustifolia is a very valuable species of lavender because of the high quality oil that is produced by the plants. The oils can be used in perfume, cosmetics, for aromatherapy and utilised as an antiseptic. Its typical flowering period is from mid-June to late July. It is an extremely hardy plant and fairly forgiving of pruning mistakes! It has a shorter stem than other species and more contained

Intermedia is a hybrid plant which comes from a combination of Angustifolia and Latifolia lavenders. Many varieties of Intermedia are used for producing commercial oil and dried bunches, as the yields from these plants are up to three times greater than Angustifolia. Intermedia is also very hardy with a flowering period from early July through to September.
If you’d like to pick a variety of lavender that can be found in our fields, you’ll find a selection of Angustifolia and Intermedia plants, available in two different pot sizes in our farm shop.
Dogs are welcome on-site so long as they are kept on a lead and any doggy deposits are cleared away by their owners.
The lavender attracts a diverse mix of wildlife, in particular bees. You’ll be able to see many bees amongst the lavender rows. Much of the other wildlife may be harder to spot but the farm is home to hares, butterflies, insects, partridges, skylarks and more.
Experience a different view of Hitchin Lavender and the surrounding countryside by walking along the public footpaths which intersect our farm alongside our main field and outbuildings. Professional photography is allowed anytime during our general opening hours but is subject to an additional fee.

During 2026, to mark the centenary of Queen Elizabeth II’s birth, The King’s Gallery at Buckingham Palace plays host to the largest and most comprehensive exhibition of the late Queen’s fashion ever mounted.
Through approximately 200 items, around half on display for the first time, Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style will chart the remarkable story of Britain’s longest-reigning monarch through clothing worn in all ten decades of her life: from birth to adulthood, from princess to queen, and from off-duty style to diplomatic dressing for the global stage.
Queen Elizabeth II’s fashion archive is one of the largest and most important surviving collections of 20th-century British fashion. Alongside clothing, jewellery, hats, shoes and accessories, visitors can discover never-before-seen design sketches, fabric samples
and handwritten correspondence that reveal the behind-the-scenes process of dressing the most famous woman in the world and shed new light on the late Queen’s close involvement in the creation of her wardrobe.
From birth, Princess Elizabeth’s clothing was a topic of national fascination. On show for the first time will be one of the earliest surviving pieces of couture from her childhood wardrobe: the silver lamé and tulle bridesmaid dress, designed by Edward Molyneux, that she wore aged eight for the 1934 wedding of her uncle, the Duke of Kent, to Princess Marina of Greece.
As British couture rose to prominence in the 1940s, Princess Elizabeth began working with Norman Hartnell, who became her most influential designer over the next three decades. His position as Britain’s leading couturier was cemented when he was chosen to design her wedding dress in 1947 and her Coronation dress in 1953,
both of which will be on display.
Eveningwear was a vital component of the Queen’s wardrobe, and visitors will see stunning examples that reflect the evolution of fashion trends throughout her long reign – from the crinoline-skirted gowns of the 1950s by Norman Hartnell and Hardy Amiesto fluid, vibrantly printed dresses by Ian Thomas that capture the relaxed glamour of the 1970s, on show for the first time. The exhibition will explore the Queen’s use of diplomatically significant emblems and colours in her wardrobe for overseas tours, as shown in an ingenious white gown designed by Norman Hartnell for a 1961 State Banquet in Karachi, which incorporates Pakistan’s national colours through a dramatic emerald-green pleat cascading down the back.

In her later years, Queen Elizabeth became as recognisable for her off-duty style and classic British tailoring as she was for her couture gowns. From impeccably cut riding jackets to tartan skirts and silk headscarves, visitors will see never-before-displayed examples other practical everyday style, which continues to inspire contemporary designers to this day.
Caroline de Guitaut, exhibition curator and Surveyor of The King’s Works of Art, said: ‘Over the course of Queen Elizabeth II’s remarkably long reign, her distinctive style became instantly recognisable around the world, bolstering the British fashion industry and influencing generations of designers and couturiers.”
“Only now, as the late Queen’s fashion archive comes under the care of Royal Collection Trust, can we tell the story of a lifetime of thoughtful style choices – from her hands-on role and understanding of the soft power behind her clothing, to the exceptional craftsmanship behind each garment. In the year that she would have turned 100 years old, this exhibition will be a celebration of Queen Elizabeth’s uniquely British style and her enduring fashion legacy.”

An official publication to mark the centenary, Queen Elizabeth II: Fashion and Style, will accompany the exhibition. Written by the exhibition curator Caroline de Guitaut and featuring contributions by fashion experts and designers, the book will explore the late Queen’s fashion archive and her lifelong championing of the British fashion industry in unprecedented detail.

Camden has long held a unique place in London’s cultural landscape. From its legendary music scene to its bustling markets and independent cafés, the area continues to attract those drawn to its creative energy and strong sense of identity. Yet alongside that vibrancy, there is a growing demand for homes that offer a quieter, more considered way of living within easy reach of the action.
Perfectly positioned just a three-minute walk from Chalk Farm station, Verdica offers residents the best of both worlds. Step outside and you’re immersed in the buzz of Camden Town; step back inside and you’re greeted by a calm, thoughtfully designed retreat.
The development comprises a mix of studio, one- and twobedroom apartments arranged around a landscaped courtyard garden - a feature that reflects a wider trend towards incorporating shared green space into urban living. Private balconies and lightfilled interiors further enhance a sense of openness that can be hard to find in central London locations.
As buyers continue to prioritise both connectivity and quality of space, schemes like Verdica are increasingly appealing to a broad range of residents, from first-time buyers to professionals looking to remain close to central London without compromising on day-to-day comfort.
To support buyers, we’re currently oFffering incentives of up to £75,000* on selected homes. This incentive can be tailored to individual circumstances, whether that means contributing towards a deposit, assisting with stamp duty, or helping to make monthly payments more manageable.
With homes ready to move into now, Verdica presents an opportunity for buyers to make their move sooner than they might expect. We’re proud to be part of Camden’s evolving story, delivering homes that respond to how people want to live today.

Over the last few years, many of us have become more thoughtful about the small things that make everyday life better. From shopping locally to investing in quality food and drink, people are paying more attention to where products come from, how they’re made, and the businesses behind them.
Coffee is no exception.

For many people, coffee has evolved into an important daily ritual. More households are discovering that freshly roasted coffee delivered directly to their door offers better quality and greater convenience than supermarket alternatives.
One business helping drive that change is Mont58 Coffee, an independent London roastery founded by husband-and-wife team
Maya and Shai Eilon.
What began as a small coffee roasting setup in a garden shed has grown into an awardwinning business with cafés in London and Kent, alongside a thriving subscription service delivering freshly roasted coffee to homes and offices across the UK.
Despite its growth, Mont58 has remained focused on a simple idea: great coffee without the fuss.
“We’ve always wanted great coffee to feel approachable and part of everyday life,” says Maya. “People want quality, but they also want value and something that feels easy. Increasingly, they also want to know the coffee they’re buying is having a positive impact.”
That approach has resonated with customers across London and beyond. Mont58’s flexible subscriptions help ensure customers never run out of great coffee, while reflecting the company’s commitment to sustainability and community. Mont58 works with trusted farmers and cooperatives to source coffee responsibly and ethically, while using recyclable and compostable packaging.

The company was recently recognised nationally after winning the Bricks & Clicks award at this year’s Small Awards, celebrating some of the UK’s most inspiring small businesses.
“There’s something special about becoming part of people’s daily routines,” says Shai.
“Whether it’s a café visit, a subscription delivery or a bag of coffee shared with friends, we never take that support for granted.”
At a time when more people are choosing to buy local and buy better, it seems a really good cup of coffee remains one of life’s simplest pleasures.

rom Mayfair-based operators to flexible membership models, private aviation in London has evolved into a sophisticated ecosystem – where time, access and discretion are the ultimate luxuries.
In a city where time is currency, private aviation has shifted from indulgence to infrastructure. London remains one of the world’s key hubs for private jet travel, supported by a dense network of operators, brokers and dedicated airports such as Farnborough Airport and London Biggin Hill Airport. What has changed for 2026 is not demand, but how clients choose to fly.
At the top end, global operators such as NetJets and VistaJet dominate the conversation. NetJets, backed by Berkshire Hathaway, pioneered fractional ownership – allowing clients to purchase a share in an aircraft with guaranteed availability and consistent service. VistaJet, by contrast, has built its model around subscription-style access, offering a uniform fleet without the burden of ownership, an

approach increasingly popular among internationally mobile clients.
Alongside these are long-established British players such as Air Partner, known for bespoke charter and government-level logistics, as well as newer concierge-style brokers who prioritise flexibility over fleet ownership.
Understanding how to fly privately is now as important as where to fly. The market broadly breaks down into three models: ondemand charter, jet cards or membership programmes, and fractional ownership. Charter offers maximum flexibility, while membership schemes provide predictability and ease of access. Ownership, meanwhile, suits those flying frequently enough to prioritise consistency and long-term convenience.
For London-based clients, the real value lies beyond the aircraft itself. Private aviation enables access to smaller airports, last-minute scheduling and highly personalised service – from curated in-flight dining to seamless ground transfers. It also supports increasingly complex itineraries, whether multi-stop business travel or tightly choreographed leisure journeys.

Sustainability, however, is becoming harder to ignore. Many operators now offer carbon offsetting and are investing in more efficient aircraft, reflecting growing scrutiny from both regulators and clients.
Ultimately, private aviation in London is no longer simply about luxury – it is about control. In a landscape where time, privacy and flexibility are paramount, that remains the most valuable commodity of all.

For more than 40 years, Powder Byrne has been helping families discover the joy of skiing. Since 1985, they have been introducing children to the mountains, nurturing confidence on the slopes and creating experiences that stay with families for a lifetime. What begins as a first ski holiday often becomes the start of a lifelong passion, with generations of families returning year after year to share the magic of the mountains together.
There is something special about watching a child learn to ski. The mountains provide an environment where every achievement builds confidence, and every day brings new opportunities for discovery. From their first snowplough turn to confidently skiing with friends, children quickly develop a sense of accomplishment that extends beyond the slopes.
Skiing teaches valuable life skills in a way that feels natural and

enjoyable. Children learn perseverance, resilience and independence while building friendships and embracing new challenges. As their abilities progress, so does their confidence, helping them become more independent both on and off the mountain.
Powder Byrne’s renowned children’s programmes are designed to support young skiers from their first turn onwards. Expert instruction, carefully structured groups and dedicated children programme’s assistant create a supportive environment where learning remains engaging, social and fun. From first-time skiers taking their earliest turns, to teenagers exploring the mountain with growing independence, their programmes are designed to inspire confidence at every stage.
For many families, skiing becomes much more than a holiday. It becomes a tradition that is shared across generations. Some of the children who first skied with Powder Byrne decades ago now return with children of their own, introducing a new generation to the same excitement, adventure and freedom they experienced growing up. There is a unique joy in sharing a passion for skiing with your children. Parents take pride in watching them experience the same
sense of achievement and excitement that made their own ski holidays so memorable. The mountains become the backdrop for family stories that are revisited year after year.
From early mornings heading to the lifts together to sharing meals after a day on the slopes, these moments create lasting memories and strengthen family bonds. Over time, they become traditions that children carry with them into adulthood and eventually pass on to future generations.
One of the unique aspects of a Powder Byrne ski holiday is the balance it creates between togetherness and independence. While families spend valuable time together on and off the mountain, children also have opportunities to develop confidence and independence in a safe and supportive setting.
Through ski instruction, group activities and time spent with their peers, children learn responsibility, build social skills and gain confidence in their own abilities. They are encouraged to embrace new experiences, make new friends and develop a sense of self-reliance, all while having enormous fun.
For parents, seeing this growth is one of the most rewarding parts of the holiday. Knowing that children are happy, engaged and thriving allows parents to relax and enjoy their own time on the slopes with Powder Byrne’s ski guiding. At the end of each day, families come back together to share stories, celebrate achievements and create memories that will last long after the holiday has ended.

Since 1985, Powder Byrne has remained committed to creating skiers. While resorts, equipment and travel have evolved over the years, the magic of family skiing remains unchanged. The thrill of learning something new, the confidence gained through achievement and the memories created together continue to inspire families year after year. Today, Powder Byrne is proud to welcome both new families and returning generations who share a love of skiing and the mountains. Because skiing is never just about skiing. It is about confidence, tradition, and independence. And for more than 40 years, Powder Byrne has been proud to help families experience exactly that.

This year’s awards include Best Offbeat in Europe (Conde Nast Traveller’s Wellness & Spa Awards) and Best for Ayurveda and Silence (The Sunday Times).

Over seven floors it offers 12 treatment rooms, a restful yoga shala with big mountain views, relaxation rooms and an atelier where courses such as mindful flower arranging and painting take place. Alderney feels like a best-kept secret – and that is precisely its appeal. Often overlooked in favour of its larger neighbours, this small Channel Island quietly captures the heart of those who make the journey. It may be tiny, but its charm lingers long after you leave.
As the northernmost of the Channel Islands and the closest to the south coast of Great Britain, Alderney is surprisingly easy to reach. Direct flights from Southampton take just 40 minutes, while travelling via Guernsey adds a gentle island-hopping element. The final approach on Aurigny’s small Twin Otter aircraft is unforgettable, revealing turquoise seas, white beaches and rugged headlands below.
Life here moves at a gentler pace. With few cars and short distances, the island is best explored on foot or by bike. Days
unfold naturally – a walk along dramatic cliff paths, an afternoon on a quiet beach, and dinner enjoyed slowly as the sun sets over the sea. Despite being just eight miles from the French coast, Alderney remains refreshingly uncommercialised. Around 40 miles of footpaths cross the island, leading to sweeping viewpoints, sandy bays and encounters with remarkable wildlife. Internationally recognised for its birdlife, Alderney is home to extraordinary seabird colonies at Les Etacs and Burhou, where gannets and puffins gather in spectacular numbers. Dolphins and grey seals are often spotted in surrounding waters.
As night falls, the island reveals another rare luxury: truly dark skies. With little light pollution, stargazing is exceptional, with the Milky Way often stretching across the horizon.
History is woven throughout the landscape, from Neolithic dolmens and Roman remains to Napoleonic towers and Victorian forts. At the island’s heart lies St Anne, a charming town of cobbled streets, independent shops and welcoming cafés.
Dining celebrates fresh local produce, particularly seafood, served in relaxed restaurants and cosy pubs. Add boutique stays, coastal adventures and a lively events calendar, and Alderney offers the perfect balance of tranquillity and discovery.

The annual Dorset Opera Festival is the place to be seen during the last week of July, as worldclass performers descend on the county to make this much-loved event a true highlight of the cultural calendar.
With spring now in full swing, the team behind Dorset’s most successful summer festival is already hard at work, coordinating designers, set builders and costume makers to bring this year’s productions vividly to life.
Now in its 52nd year, the Festival brings together around 280 participants. These include internationally acclaimed soloists making their British stage debuts; a full professional orchestra, conductors, music staff, plus dedicated production and technical teams. Wardrobe personnel are supported by students from the Arts University Bournemouth, while a team of 70 volunteers ensures everything runs smoothly during rehearsals and front of house.
The chorus of more than 60 singers, drawn from around the world, is already busy preparing the music for this year’s operas: Donizetti’s charming and humorous L’elisir d’amore (The Elixir of Love), and Saint-Saëns’ dramatic biblical epic Samson et Dalila.
The story of Samson is one of legend: a powerful leader whose strength lies in his uncut hair. Betrayed by Delilah, he reveals his secret and is shorn of his locks and blinded while he sleeps. Captured and humiliated, Samson ultimately prays for his power to be returned one final time, resulting in him singlehandedly bringing

On the same night, Will Adamsdale brings AI AI OH (Or How I Wrote A Hit Sitcom With ChatGPT But We’re Not Talking Now) – his Edinburgh Fringe preview taking on the question of the moment: what happens when humans and machines try to collaborate, fall out, and have to account for themselves?

The finest independent schools in the UK

ChengTong X. from Eaton House The Manor Boys’ School was delighted and surprised to hear that he had won both the coveted King’s Scholarship to Eton and, separately, the Eton Music Scholarship. The former is one of the most hotly contested senior scholarships in the UK, and the latter has reputedly attracted over 60 gifted musicians from Prep schools all over the country vying for the honour. He is one of many boys who won top scholarships. Academically, his performance was also excellent. ChengTong’s letter from Eton commented that he had ‘performed exceptionally well in the King’s Scholarship examination’ and that, as a result, his name would appear on the roll. They added that ‘The level of competition has been very high this year, so ChengTong should be very proud of his achievement.’
In Music, he has achieved Grade 8 in two instruments, the piano and the clarinet. His Eton Scholarship pieces included Schubert’s Impromptu No. 3 for the piano, Beethoven’s Sonata No.8,

‘The interview was about musical theory, my musical instruments and the things that have inspired me,’ he says. ‘And yes, I do listen to 21st century music, not just classical!’ he laughs. He is grateful to the Eaton House The Manor Director of Music, Mr Lukas Kargl, whose specialist knowledge and dedication helped him to achieve his full potential. ‘Mr Karg is an inspiring teacher,’ he said. ‘He helped me to prepare and he also wrote me a very nice reference.’
ChengTong loves the fact that there is so much musical opportunity at Eaton House – and he sings in the Senior Choir and plays in the Orchestra. ‘Overall, it has been really enjoyable at Eaton House The Manor,’ he says. I’ve been here since Reception and there have been so many funny moments.’
The school is ‘like a home’, yet it is right to leave. ‘I am ready for Eton,’ he says. ‘I am in good standing and well prepared and I am really happy about that.’

Pupils in Year 6 and Year 8 at Broomwood, one of Clapham’s leading prep schools, are celebrating another record-breaking year for scholarships, after being offered an exceptional 47 scholarships, the highest number in the school’s history.
Nearly half of the scholarships awarded were for academic achievement, alongside awards across sport, music, drama, art and all-round excellence, reflecting both the breadth of talent within the year groups and Broomwood’s commitment to nurturing every child as an individual.
Scholarship offers came from some of the top senior schools in the country, including Alleyn’s School, Brighton College, JAGS, Dulwich College and Epsom College, further strengthening Broomwood’s reputation for preparing children to thrive at the next stage of their education.
Alongside the scholarship success, Broomwood pupils also received more than 230 offers from a wide range of leading senior schools, including
academically selective London day schools and prestigious boarding schools outside the capital, reflecting the breadth of opportunities available to families and the school’s tailored approach to supporting every child’s next step.

Speaking about the news, Principal and Head of the Broomwood Boys, Michael Hodge said: ‘We are incredibly proud of all the pupils who have achieved scholarships this year. To receive a record-breaking 47 scholarships is a remarkable accomplishment and reflects the hard work, ambition and character of our pupils, alongside the dedication and expertise of our staff.
‘Nearly half of the scholarships awarded were academic scholarships, which is a tremendous achievement for our pupils and teaching staff alike. Over the last five years, scholarship offers at Broomwood have increased by more than 50 per cent, reflecting the strength of teaching, pastoral support and individual encouragement across the school.
‘Just as importantly, the wider range of offers received by our pupils demonstrates the success of our personalised approach. Every child’s journey is different, and we work
closely with families to ensure pupils move on to schools where they will truly flourish.’
Louisa McCafferty, Head of Broomwood Girls, added: ‘This has been a truly exceptional year for scholarships and senior school destinations, and we are delighted to celebrate the achievements of our pupils. From academics and music to sport, drama and the arts, the range of awards highlights the many different strengths that are nurtured and celebrated across the school community.
‘We are committed to ensuring every child is known, encouraged and challenged to achieve their very best, and it is wonderful to see our pupils recognised in this way as they move on to the next stage of their educational journey.’
The scholarship success continues Broomwood’s strong tradition of preparing pupils for a wide range of senior schools, while ensuring children benefit from a broad and balanced prep school education.

“We are committed to ensuring every child is known, encouraged and challenged to achieve their very best”
Through specialist teaching, extensive co-curricular opportunities and a strong focus on individual growth, Broomwood aims to develop confident, capable and well-rounded young people ready to flourish both in school and beyond.
This success comes at an especially exciting time for Broomwood,
which was recently included in Talk Education’s prestigious ‘Talk Education 250’ list of the best schools in the country, and was named Independent Prep School of the Year in London for the second consecutive year at the Private Education Awards 2026. Last month, Broomwood also announced it would be expanding its Pre-School (3+) provision to include an additional class, further strengthening its early years offering.
Broomwood also operates a bus service across London, with routes serving areas including Pimlico, Wimbledon, Battersea and Tooting Bec, making the school accessible to families across the capital.
The main entry points to Broomwood are Pre-School, Reception, Year 3 and Year 7, although the school may have places available in other year groups.

Broomwood will also be hosting a free community event on Sunday 28 June, 09.30am – 11.00am. Designed for children aged 2–4 and their families, this free community event will feature songs, stories, refreshments, a petting zoo and plenty of teddy bear fun. Bring your favourite teddy along and enjoy a wonderful morning of friendship, imagination and summer memories in the heart of the Broomwood community.

Swimming excellence at Mount Kelly is more than medals, records or international representation. It’s about creating an environment where ambitious young people can pursue world-class performance while thriving academically, personally and socially.
Internationally recognised as one of the world’s leading swimming schools, Mount Kelly offers a clear pathway for all swimmers. Our youngest pupils begin in Swim Stars, swimming twice a week as they build technique and a love of the sport, before progressing through carefully structured squads. Elite athletes swim around 18 hours per week, supported by outstanding coaching, facilities and pastoral care.
What makes the programme distinctive is the balance it strikes between high performance and academic ambition. Swimmers are supported to excel in the classroom as well as the pool, with many progressing to leading universities across the world. This summer, 15 leavers will head to the USA on scholarships, joining prestigious institutions including Harvard, Stanford, Texas, Alabama and LSU.

Strength and depth are reflected in summer 2026 selections. Seventy-seven athletes have qualified for Aquatics GB British and Home Nations Championships. 20 relay teams qualified for the Aquatics GB Championships. Eight current pupils will race at the Commonwealth Games. Five for the Senior European Championships and five for Junior Europeans.
As a boarding school, Mount Kelly provides a genuine home-from-home environment where pupils are supported both in and out of the pool. Dedicated House Parents and matrons ensure that swimmers feel safe and cared for, while the unique campus layout means they can walk
from their beds to the poolside in as little as one minute. Swimmers are supported by seven full-time coaches, Head of Athletic Development, on-site gym, 25m pool and a 50m pool. Yet what truly sets MK apart is the culture. The “MK Family” mantra is central to daily life, fostering an environment in which older swimmers mentor those younger. Successes are shared collectively. Every individual is supported to become the very best version of themselves.
Whatever their level, Mount Kelly swimmers are encouraged to achieve extraordinary things, and to do so with humility, balance and a genuine sense of belonging.

Trinity School, set in 27 acres in Shirley, South London, has long combined academic ambition, co-curricular breadth and a strong sense of community. Currently educating boys aged 10 to 16 alongside a co-educational Sixth Form, the school is now preparing for an exciting next chapter.
From September 2027, Trinity will welcome girls into Year 6 and 7, beginning the move towards full co-education across the school.
Importantly, this is not a new direction, but a natural evolution of a community that has embraced co-education for more than 15 years in the Sixth Form. Today, Sixth Form boys and girls are fully involved across academic life, leadership, sport and co-curricular activities, helping shape a culture defined by opportunity, kindness and belonging. One parent described Trinity’s community as “truly special”.
Lower Sixth student Amber said: “Trinity pushes you further than you think you can go, but in a way that really supports you.”
Reflecting on the co-educational Sixth Form, she added: “Having boys and girls together in the classroom has definitely built my confidence.”
From 2027, the school will welcome more than 100 girls into Year 6 and 7, creating over 500 new places for girls across the next five years, aiming for equal ratios of boys and girls by 2031. Trinity’s staff body already reflects the balanced and inclusive community it is building, with a 50:50 split of male and female teaching staff.
Academic ambition remains central to Trinity’s identity. In 2025, 80% of leavers secured places at Russell Group universities, while 43% of female and 47% of male leavers progressed to STEM degrees. Alongside these outcomes, the school places equal emphasis on confidence, character and community. Preparations for co-education are already underway across school life, including expanded pastoral provision, investment in learning and social spaces, and continued growth in sport and co-curricular opportunities. These developments form part of Trinity’s wider £40 million investment in the future of the school, including a refurbished elite-level hockey astro, new fitness studio, expanded dining areas and ambitious plans for a new Sixth Form Centre.

As Trinity celebrates 60 years on its current site, the move towards full co-education reflects the school’s enduring belief in progress, opportunity and belonging, while offering families joining from 2027 the chance to help shape its next chapter. trinity-school.org. Sharp contour, ultra-defined features and mirror-like finishes are beginning to lose ground in 2026, making way for a softer, more diffused approach to beauty. The emerging trend, known as Soft Focus Beauty, takes inspiration from analogue photography, velvet textures and filtered light – creating makeup that looks polished, flattering and deliberately unfussy.
At its core, the aesthetic is about blur rather than precision. Skin appears smooth but not glossy, colour is gently hazed around the eyes and cheeks, and lips take on a softened, lived-in finish. Rather than striving for crisp definition or high-impact glamour, Soft Focus Beauty embraces dimension that feels atmospheric, wearable and subtly romantic.
The trend draws influence from several directions: the muted glamour of 1990s editorial beauty, the return of matte-but-healthy skin, and a growing appetite for makeup that performs well both in real life and on camera. In an era shaped by constant digital visibility, heavily sculpted makeup can appear increasingly harsh. Soft Focus Beauty offers an alternative – refined, forgiving and effortlessly photogenic.
Texture is central to the look. Powder products are being reconsidered, not as tools for flattening the complexion but for creating a velvety, light-diffusing finish. Foundations lean satin or soft matte rather than dewy, gently evening tone while maintaining movement in the skin. Blush is blended broadly across cheeks and temples, creating a natural wash of colour rather than a sharply placed accent.
Eye makeup follows a similar philosophy. Liners are smudged rather than graphic, shadows are softly layered in taupe, rose, cocoa and muted plum tones, and lashes appear defined without looking overly engineered. Brows remain groomed but slightly relaxed, stepping away from the laminated, overly structured aesthetic that dominated previous seasons.
What makes the trend particularly wearable is its adaptability. Soft Focus Beauty can be pared back for everyday use or intensified for evening without losing its essential softness. A blurred berry lip, softly smoked eye or velvety complexion translates easily from office settings to dinners, events and travel routines. It feels elevated without demanding perfection.
There is also a practical appeal to the aesthetic. Diffused textures tend to be forgiving throughout the day, fading gracefully rather than separating or appearing overly rigid. Application is intuitive: fingers, fluffy brushes and layered creams help create the softly blended effect. The emphasis is not on technical precision but on creating harmony across the face.
Ultimately, Soft Focus Beauty reflects a wider shift in contemporary luxury. Beauty is becoming less about conspicuous transformation and more about atmosphere, texture and ease. In place of overt perfection comes something gentler, more nuanced and arguably more modern. Soft Focus Beauty captures that mood precisely – polished without severity, flattering without excess and unmistakably current.

Your essential guide to private health and wellbeing

The Pinnah was founded by psychodynamic psychotherapist Bola Shonubi as a psychotherapy practice for people seeking a deeper understanding of themselves and their emotional lives.
Based in Buckhurst Hill and working with clients across the UK and internationally, The Pinnah provides a calm and confidential space in which individuals can explore the difficulties that may be affecting their wellbeing, relationships, work, or sense of self.
Many of the people who come to therapy are successful in the eyes of others. They may be professionals, business owners, executives, or individuals carrying significant responsibilities. Yet beneath the surface they can find themselves struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, loss, trauma, burnout, or a persistent feeling that something is not quite right.
At The Pinnah, therapy is not viewed simply as a way of managing symptoms. It is an opportunity to understand the deeper patterns that shape how we think, feel, relate to others, and experience ourselves.
Drawing on over twenty years of clinical experience, Bola works psychodynamically, paying attention not only to present difficulties but also to the experiences, relationships, and unconscious processes that may be influencing them. Her approach is thoughtful, relational, and

tailored to the individual rather than driven by a one-size-fits-all model. Clients often seek therapy at times of transition, uncertainty, or emotional strain. Others come because they have achieved many of the things they hoped for in life yet continue to experience a sense of dissatisfaction, self-criticism, or emotional disconnection. Therapy can provide a space to think more deeply about these experiences and to develop a greater capacity for self-understanding.
The practice works with a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, work-related stress, bereavement, and issues connected to identity, self-esteem, and life transitions.

Alongside private practice, Bola has contributed to BBC radio discussions, national publications, and interdisciplinary creative projects exploring psychological themes. She also provides clinical supervision to other psychotherapists.
While therapy cannot remove life’s difficulties, it can help people understand themselves more clearly, navigate challenges differently, and develop a greater sense of emotional freedom.
The Pinnah offers both in-person and online psychotherapy, supporting individuals throughout the UK and around the world. thepinnah.com

Life can feel overwhelming at times. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, trauma, stress, grief, or simply feeling stuck, you don’t have to face it alone.
At The Pinnah, our experienced and professionally qualified psychotherapists provide a confidential, compassionate, and supportive environment where meaningful change can begin. We offer tailored therapy for individuals, couples, and groups, helping you gain clarity, build resilience, and move forward with confidence.

In a world where medicine continues to push the boundaries of longevity, performance, and quality of life, one important conversation has remained hidden for too long – men’s intimate health.
Erectile dysfunction, declining testosterone, loss of confidence, reduced energy, and changes in sexual performance affect millions of men worldwide. Yet despite being extremely common, many men
continue to suffer silently because of embarrassment, stigma, and outdated perceptions.
For Dr. Sherif Wakil, Founder and Medical Director of Dr SW Clinics on Harley Street, London, changing this silence has become more than a profession – it has become a lifelong mission.
“Enough with the shame and making it a taboo. Sexual health is health,” says Dr. Wakil. “Men should feel empowered to seek solutions rather than silently accept decline.”

Internationally recognised as “The Godfather of Sexual Rejuvenation,” Dr. Wakil has dedicated his career to transforming the way medicine approaches male sexual health – combining regenerative science, advanced technology, functional medicine, and personalised care.
More than 15 years ago, Dr. Wakil became one of the pioneers responsible for reshaping intimate medicine by introducing the P-Shot® (Priapus Shot®) to Europe, bringing one of the world’s most recognised regenerative sexual health treatments to a new audience.
This milestone was followed by his introduction and advancement of several innovative regenerative
procedures across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, including the O-Shot®, Vampire Facelift®, and Vampire Breast Lift®, helping establish a new era of non-surgical regenerative medicine.
Throughout his career, Dr. Wakil has performed more than 40,000 regenerative procedures across male and female intimate medicine, attracting patients from over 90 countries worldwide.
His work has always extended beyond treating symptoms. His philosophy is centred on restoring confidence, relationships, and quality of life.
At the heart of Dr. Wakil’s approach is the O Concept™, a trademarked protocol founded and developed by Dr. Wakil after years of clinical experience and innovation.
Unlike traditional approaches that often focus on a single medication or isolated treatment, the O Concept™ is a comprehensive regenerative framework designed to address the many factors involved in male sexual function.
“Erectile dysfunction is rarely caused by one single problem,” explains Dr. Wakil. “It can involve circulation, hormones, nerves, tissue quality, psychology, metabolism, and lifestyle. Therefore, the solution must look at the whole person.”
The O Concept™ for HIM combines advanced regenerative and functional treatments including:
• P-Shot® regenerative protocols
• Advanced shockwave therapy
• Radiofrequency treatments
• Neuromodulation techniques
• Bocox™ protocols
• Regenerative cellular approaches
• Hormonal optimisation
• Functional medicine assessment
• Lifestyle and mitochondrial optimisation
…and many more advanced treatments under the umbrella of the O Concept™.
Each programme is individually tailored, using specific combinations, treatment sequences, and timing according to each patient’s needs.
Beyond erectile dysfunction, Dr. Wakil has become one of the leading international voices raising awareness around Andropause –often described as the male equivalent of menopause.
While menopause is widely recognised, millions of men experience their own hormonal transition silently.
Gradual testosterone decline may contribute to:
• Reduced energy
• Mood changes
• Loss of motivation
• Reduced muscle mass
• Increased body fat
• Low libido
• Erectile dysfunction
• Reduced confidence
“Each programme is individually tailored, using specific combinations, treatment sequences, and timing according to each patient’s needs”
The goal is not simply improving performance – it is restoring vitality, confidence, and wellbeing.

“The GOD father of sexual rejuvenation”

“Andropause is one of the most overlooked conversations in men’s health,” explains Dr. Wakil. “It is not only about sexual performance – it affects confidence, energy, relationships, and overall quality of life.”
Recognising the global lack of awareness surrounding this important stage of men’s health, Dr. Wakil founded International Andropause Awareness Day on June 1st – an initiative created to educate men, encourage earlier conversations, and remove the stigma associated with hormonal decline and intimate health.
His message is clear: Ageing should not mean silently accepting decline.
For many men, sexual dysfunction affects far more than physical performance.
It influences self-esteem, relationships, emotional wellbeing, and identity.

Dr. Wakil believes that changing the conversation is just as important as developing innovative treatments.
“Restoring function is only part of the journey,” he explains. “The real transformation happens when a person regains confidence.”
Through education, international lectures, training, and patient advocacy, Dr. Wakil continues challenging outdated perceptions surrounding male intimate health.
Today, Dr. Wakil is recognised internationally as a pioneer and leading authority in sexual regenerative medicine.
He is:
• Founder and trademark owner of the O Concept™ protocol
• Founder & President of the International Association of Aesthetic Gynecology & Sexual Wellbeing (IAAGSW)
• A global trainer in regenerative medicine
• A Key Opinion Leader for advanced medical technologies
• A frequent speaker at international congresses and scientific forums
His contribution to advancing intimate regenerative medicine has earned international recognition, with Dr SW Clinics awarded Best Sexual Rejuvenation Clinic in the UK (2024), followed by Best Sexual Rejuvenation Clinic in Europe (2025 and 2026).
These recognitions reflect years of innovation, education, patientcentred care, and commitment to raising standards within the field.
Dr SW Clinics operates under strict UK healthcare standards and
has achieved high ratings in CQC inspections, demonstrating excellence in patient safety, clinical governance, and quality of care.
Behind the clinic’s success is a highly specialised medical team personally trained by Dr. Wakil. Through continuous education, advanced protocol development, and regular training programmes, the team maintains the highest international standards.
Looking ahead, Dr. Wakil believes the next revolution in men’s health will come from a deeper understanding of the connection between sexual health, longevity, and wholebody performance.
The future lies in combining:
• Regenerative medicine.
• Hormonal optimisation.
• Functional health.
• Advanced technology.
• Longevity science.
“The future is not about waiting for decline,” says Dr. Wakil. “It is about understanding the body earlier and optimising health, performance, and vitality.”
Through the O Concept™, international education, and his mission to break taboos, Dr. Sherif Wakil continues to redefine the future of male sexual health.
Because sexual wellness is not a luxury.
It is an essential part of living well.
Because normal is not always optimal – and restoration is possible.

For some families, starting IVF means carrying an additional weight: the knowledge that a hereditary condition could be passed on. London Women’s Clinic explains how genetic testing can help patients build their families with greater certainty.
Beth and Brad came to London Women’s Clinic Brentwood knowing that IVF alone would not be enough. They needed to ensure that any embryo transferred was free from a specific inherited condition – and that meant Pre-implantation Genetic Testing for Monogenic disorders, known as PGT-M.
“Beth and Brad came to London Women’s Clinic Brentwood knowing that IVF alone would not be enough”
Unlike PGT-A, which screens embryos for chromosomal abnormalities, PGT-M is a tool used for families at risk of passing on a known single-gene condition. Each embryo is biopsied at the blastocyst stage and tested against the specific genetic variant identified in that family. Only embryos confirmed to be unaffected are considered for transfer when the inherited condition is autosomal dominant, meaning only one copy of the gene needs to be inherited to be affected with the condition. For Beth and Brad, the process was not straightforward – there were many tests, a great deal of waiting, and the particular anxiety of not wanting to hope too much, too soon.
Beth remembers the morning she took a pregnancy test vividly. A faint shadow. Then a line. She called Brad’s name – “Brad, Brad, Brad, Brad, is this a thing? Is this a genuine thing?” – holding the
test up, voice rising with the tentative joy of someone who had learned not to celebrate too early. Brad, who had been protecting himself from disappointment, barely dared to look.
The transfer had worked. Their son, Rupert, was born healthy. Now, they sometimes pass members of the clinic team in the street – people who remember them, who ask after him, who were “genuinely thrilled” when the news came through. Beth and Brad brought Rupert in to visit soon after he was born.
“Parenting, as I’ve found out, is just as much about trial and error, learning as you go – just be kind to yourself and compassionate.” –Beth, LWC patient
PGT-M is not the right path for every patient, and at London Women’s Clinic it is never a default recommendation. But for families who carry a known hereditary condition, it offers something that hope alone cannot: the ability to act on what science can tell you, before a pregnancy begins.

A collection of the finest house and garden companies

London architecture studio Manea Kella has breathed new life into a neglected Edwardian terrace near Hampstead Heath honouring its history while reimagining it entirely for the present.
There is a particular kind of London house, one that has accumulated decades of patchwork alterations, its original intentions obscured by expediency. Heathside House, an Edwardian terrace in the Dartmouth Park Conservation Area, was just such a building. Subdivided into two apartments during the 1970s and left largely untouched for the decades that followed.
The commission given to Manea Kella was, on the surface, straightforward: return the building to a single-family home and open it up to light and contemporary living. But the studio’s ambitions ran considerably deeper. Rather than treating the structure as a static relic to be dusted off, they saw it as it had always been - an adaptable, evolving piece of the city, capable of revealing its own history through careful attention and well-judged intervention.
The result, which the studio calls a project defined by “dualistic character,” is one of the more satisfying domestic renovations to emerge from London in recent years: a home in which past and present exist in confident,
companionable dialogue rather than awkward cohabitation.
The design is underpinned by a restorative approach, repairing and reusing as much of the existing fabric as possible. Original fireplaces, leaded glass, and picture rails have been preserved and celebrated, while the building envelope has been upgraded to improve thermal performance.

The property has been reimagined through a process of careful restoration and thoughtful intervention. At its heart lies a balance between preservation and reinvention: the renewal of historic
“The property has been reimagined through a process of careful restoration and thoughtful intervention”

character alongside bold new gestures that create clarity, openness, and comfort for modern life.
The building presents two very different faces to the world. To the street, changes are deliberately restrained ensuring a sensitive dialogue with the neighbouring terraces. At the rear, however, the architects permit themselves considerably more latitude. Here a failing extension has been replaced by a new glazed volume that radically transforms the experience of the space, bringing together kitchen, dining, and living in a generous open-plan arrangement wrapped around a courtyard garden. The contrast is not a contradiction, it is entirely the point.
For Elena Kella, co-founder of the studio, the ambition was clear from the outset: “Our ambition was to create a home that feels both familiar and renewed. By carefully restoring the historic details and combining them with a contemporary extension, we wanted to respect the character of the terrace while introducing new spaces that are open, light-filled, and adaptable for modern living.”
The true achievement of the rear extension lies in how it reorganises the spatial experience of the entire house. By wrapping the living spaces around the courtyard and laying a continuous limestone floor that flows unbroken from interior to exterior, the architects dissolve the threshold between inside and out. A modest footprint begins to feel far more generous than its dimensions would suggest. Daylight is drawn deep into the plan. The courtyard becomes less a garden to be looked at and more a room to be inhabited: framed, ever-present, integrated into the rhythm of daily life in a way that transforms the atmospheric quality of the home throughout the day and across seasons.
If the plan is the diagram of the house’s ambition, the materials are its emotional register. Manea Kella has assembled a palette of deliberate

restraint: glazed green tiles, lime render, and handcrafted stained oak cabinetry reference a local vernacular without lapsing into pastiche. Each material has been selected for sensory appeal and longevity in equal measure.
London’s stock of Edwardian and Victorian terraces represents an irreplaceable resource - culturally, architecturally, and materially. Heathside House makes the case for something that the architecture profession has been arguing for some time now, and that the housing industry has been slower to embrace: that true sustainability lies not in demolition and replacement but in the intelligent repair and retention of what already exists. A fabric-first retrofit (internal insulation, double glazing, the careful upgrading of the building envelope) brings this heritage asset to modern thermal standards without sacrificing the character that makes it worth inhabiting in the first place.

This is a home that will age well, in every sense. The natural materials will deepen and weather with use; the spatial generosity will accommodate changing lives; the historic details will continue to accrue meaning. Manea Kella has given Heathside House not merely a second chapter, but the foundations for many more. maneakella.com

The Amalfi Coast isn’t just a look. It’s a state of mind. It’s the heat on your skin, the sea salt in the air, the electricity of colour. It’s long lunches that turn into late nights, damp hair and imperfect beauty, the kind of sensual ease that invites you to slow down.
As summer closes in, the dolce vita is increasingly influencing how we want our homes to feel. For BAYA Interiors, the Amalfi’s palette of sun-kissed yellows, burnt oranges and teal blues isn’t about recreating the Mediterranean. It’s about translating emotion into design - capturing the atmosphere, energy and sensory richness evoked in these memories. From afternoons spent in faded peach palazzi, savouring espressos as the light turns golden.
“Homes that bring the most joy are the ones that evoke experiences,” says BAYA’s creative director, Karl Openshaw. “I’ve always been inspired by the glamour and magic of the Amalfi Coast – the kind that makes time slow down. Where colours feel richer, and you become more present. When we draw references from destinations that inspire us, we can bring those same feelings into the home.”

forms refuse perfection, like the winding coastal roads of Positano. Colour and personality are handled with confidence, not caution.
Across BAYA’s portfolio, Mediterranean influence is distilled into atmosphere rather than aesthetic. Indulgent colour palettes that shift with daylight. Lived-in textures that invite you to exhale. Curved
At Powerhouse, Chelsea Waterfront, BAYA’s newest apartment draws the surrounding river Thames inward. Teal tones and soft sky blues echo the shifting calm of the waterfront. Bright splashes of coral and lemon yellows recall summer’s optimism, while dusty pinks and fig-toned upholstery evoke boutique glamour, layered with

warmth and comfort.
Sunlight is amplified, never static - bouncing off curved mirrors, ceramic forms and bronze finishes. Sculptural objects in pale stone and amber glaze sit in careful composition, interacting with light and brightening the space. As the day shifts, these reflective surfaces flicker and change, creating a playful sense of motion.
Terracotta vessels and abstract artworks are curated to feel incidental – the same effortless composition of a well-loved villa, whose objects and beauty have accumulated over time. Nothing orchestrated, everything considered. A luxury home that’s not just styled, but shaped by genuine liveability.
It’s these details that evoke the Amalfi state of mind, where emotional depth and atmosphere bring a home to life. Spaces that move beyond the expected language of luxury interiors, designed not just to reflect taste, but to actively inspire joy, memory and feeling. Not uniform or beige – but layered, unexpected, and deeply considered.

As Karl Openshaw reflects: “Some experiences are almost impossible to forget. The Amalfi Coast is one of those places that changes your pace, your mood, and makes the everyday feel abundant. That’s the energy BAYA is always reaching for - not just a home that looks polished on arrival, but one that keeps giving back. A home that makes you feel more present, more at ease, more like yourself. When a space does that, it becomes more than an interior - it becomes part of how you live.”
For homeowners, this isn’t about following summer trends. It’s about understanding how our environment shapes their everyday experience. When interiors draw on the places that have moved us – their colours, materials, the quality of light – they become places that remind us of the best versions of ourselves.
The Amalfi state of mind is a reminder that sometimes, that feeling we get in our favourite place is worth bringing home.

The best homes, while having a character of their own, are intentionally organised around the lives, passions, and projects of the people who live within them. They make our favourite pastimes more accessible and daily activities more doable, from family life to plant life. Now, is there a sure-fire way to ensure that your home

achieves the aforementioned? While there is no exact science, may we introduce you to a Swiss one instead?
USM have been solving the problems of the furniture world with the same simple solution for nearly 65 years: their patented Haller system. Designed by the eponymous Fritz Haller, you can find a use case for USM in just about any walk of life – from multinational office floors to your very first apartment, and every setting in between. Thanks to its near-infinite number of configurations, which can be placed anywhere there are four walls and a ceiling (honestly, even that isn’t really a requirement), it makes short and stylish work of any task given to it. But just in case you can’t picture it, here are five ways the Haller system can instantly upgrade your home experience.
Crafting something in the comfort of your own home is among the most satisfying activities in the catalogue of hobbies. However, it truly begins with putting together a space that makes making easier –one that optimises your interiors so you can sew, stitch, and create to your heart’s content without worrying about where your next piece of fabric or dab of paint is going to go.
Our first solution on this list? The Haller mobile desk is blessed with places to keep your tools of the trade and castors that let you

clear space quickly if you’re working on something that requires a little more room. Match it with a stylish stool, and you have your next workspace ready to roll.
Vinyl was once a thing of the future, then a thing of the past and now, once again, a thing of the present. The record collection of every music enthusiast is, without a doubt, their pride and joy, so it won’t come as a shock that how it’s stored and displayed is equally important. From grunge gurus to classical aficionados, we need a spot to admire the album art while we listen to those nostalgic notes.
Enter stage right: the Haller sideboard – the perfect place to store those vinyl discs and the turntable they spin on. Like any great duet, vinyl and the Haller system complement each other perfectly: classic style that blends seamlessly with the modern world.
Good design is made to be shared with the ones you love. As a third-generation family business, it’s something of a specialist subject of ours. The Haller system isn’t just for intimate, solo activities. This configuration is for those who take pride in their home being the place where it all happens for friends and family.

to bask in the health benefits of a more biophilic home.
USM’s solution for this green-fingered revolution? Just as simple as the Haller system itself: provide a place for plants to cohabit with the furniture they sit on. In simpler terms, create a dedicated gap for plant pots within the design.
Family-proofing the home – a somewhat unceremonious task. But more importantly (to design geeks like us anyway), an un-stylish one. Does family-friendly furniture have to be so plastic and uninspiring? The same recycled (not in a good way) pastel colours instead of a little personality. Not according to USM. Colour meets practicality in their children’s furniture range.

USM’s Bar Trolley brings gatherings and events to life with effortless, portable ease. It’s a rolling serving station that also acts as a movable piece of mid-century design. Whether it’s a platter of pastries or a glass of something to accompany dinner, use the trolley to ensure whatever you need at the table is always close at hand.
HOMELY HORTICULTURIST:
Nature – the greatest architect of them all (with Frank Lloyd Wright a close second). The plants and floral patterns we see in everyday life have been a wellspring of inspiration for designers the world over, and a mainstay of interiors since the time of the ancient Egyptians over 5,000 years ago. In the last decade, there has been an explosion of grow-your-own greenhouses, part of a broader effort to feel closer to gardens in an ever-expanding urban landscape and
The best part of choosing Haller for your little ones? The furniture grows as your family does. From a toy box to a desk for revising, the adaptability of the designs makes it the perfect piece to keep adding to as your needs change – all while the effortless style remains the same.

“I’ve always felt that lighting is the jewellery of a room – it’s what brings the atmosphere, the glow, the magic.

Luxury British lampshade brand Tinker & Tallulah has unveiled The Jewel Collection: a new limited-edition range created in collaboration with interior designer Nina Watson (aka @ArtDecoJewel).
Designed to address a gap often overlooked in the market, the collection brings together heritage-inspired pattern, distinctive silhouettes and rich, expressive colour.
The collaboration began with a clear vision. When approached by Tinker & Tallulah, Nina knew immediately that she wanted to create the lampshades she could never quite find – timeless pieces designed to complement layered interiors rather than overpower them.
Drawing on heritage damask patterns, the collection introduces a more contemporary palette of colours that are rarely seen in traditional lampshade design, including deep reds, teals, pinks and golden yellows.
The name of the collection emerged organically during the design process. Seeing the finished designs together for the first time, Nina noted their jewel-like quality, leading to the individual shades being named Ruby, Emerald, Topaz, Citrine and Rose Quartz.
Each lampshade is handmade to order in Tinker & Tallulah’s Nottinghamshire studio with a focus on precision, finish and attention to detail, from pattern placement across seams to the brand’s signature swishy tassels.
Racheal Millband, co-founder of Tinker &
Tallulah, said: “We’ve long admired Nina’s interiors and the way she designs spaces that feel joyful, soulful and that her clients genuinely love living in.
“From our very first conversation, it was clear she had a strong vision for this collection – she knew exactly what she was looking for, and what was missing in the market. It has been such a pleasure to bring that vision to life together.”
Nina Watson added: “I’ve always felt that lighting is the jewellery of a room – it’s what brings the atmosphere, the glow, the magic.
“With this collection, I wanted to create the lampshades I’m always searching for in my projects. Pieces that feel right in a layered interior, without shouting over everything else.

“Working with Tinker & Tallulah has been an absolute joy. When I saw the first samples, they were even better than I’d imagined! The finish, the detail, the way each piece glows when the light’s on – it’s the kind of craftsmanship that makes something a forever piece.”
The Jewel Collection is handmade to order, reflecting Tinker & Tallulah’s slow, considered approach to design and production.
The lampshades are available in two sizes: 35cm diameter, ideal for table lamps and pendants (£275), and 45cm diameter, suited to floor lamps and larger pendants (£345).
The collection is available to order now at tinkerandtallulah.co.uk.

The garden is an important part of the any home fortunate enough to have one. Traditionally the transition between the inside and rear garden was marked by utilitarian structures like outdoor toilets or garden sheds. However, most modern homeowners are keen to improve this relationship and blur the threshold between the house and garden.
Research has shown that spending time in green space or bringing plants and greenery into your everyday life can benefit both your mental health and physical wellbeing.
We approach our design work holistically and consider both the garden and house from the beginning of our process. We often consider the outdoor space to be an additional room to the house that has the potential to be better inhabited.
At our Walled Garden project (pictured above left and right) we designed, we designed a garden that would be beautiful to look at but would also define ‘moments’ within it. We proposed lush foliage,

“We approach our design work holistically and consider both the garden and house from the beginning of our process”

ornamental grasses and ferns that could withstand the South facing aspect and equally thrive in the dappled light beneath the canopies of established trees beyond the property. Within this garden space, two different seating areas are defined; one level with the internal living room and can be used as a public space for entertaining and another further back, more private. These are separated by a wildlife pond and path interwoven within the planting, creating moments for pause and contemplation.
We proposed a new dining space at our Supper Time project (pictured left), which was conceived as a ‘thread’ connecting the various spaces through which it passes. The concept echoes a ‘street party’ style of dining, where the table shifts and extends when needed, rather than being defined by a dedicated dining ‘room’. This hard-working new addition allows the family to be flexible with supper clubs spilling into the kitchen and the garden when extra space is needed.
At our studio we are in the unique position to offer both architectural services and garden design. We work together with our clients to provide planting lists that include year-round interest and develop maintenance plans. We revisit to help with the first season of maintenance in order to establish the garden and give it the best conditions in which to thrive.

ome high-end products are harder to create, making them unique and original. The wooden diving boards by Mikel Tube certainly enter this category. What once started as a single project has now become a full time activity with customers all over the world. Years of experience are the foundation of their quality and permanent innovation. This makes them unique, the last remaining. Winner of International Design Awards, the iconic Revelation 1 model was the first wooden diving board Mikel made. In 2020 new techniques were introduced in order to make less bouncy diving boards. These techniques have allowed the creation of new models with the Derover 1 model at the high end of the range. A stunning wooden diving board without losing the initial basic design that distinguishes the products of Mikel Tube. Each board is handcrafted and can be personalized to your wishes. The specific design could be resumed by the very pure and light surface with a solid backbone which is invisible due the particular assembling. This allows Mikel Tube to change the length of the board to your wishes.
The best wood for a diving board is

Brazilian hardwood TAMBUIA, better known as IPE. It offers strength and flexibility while also being very sustainable. But this kind of wood also needs a particular approach. Unlike classic species, IPE has its own way. Years of experience have ensured that those special assembly techniques are mastered by Mikel. Starting with the exclusive “floating” technique® at first and then releasing the innovative “stretched” technique®, makes the wooden diving boards of Mikel Tube® unique. In 2022 the Ocean 1 was introduced, and it was immediately a hit. The original curve which continues on the bracket gives it the look of a wave. Everybody agrees this is art.
Is it the icing on the cake? You might think of it like a jewel that finalises the whole project, it being a swimming pool or a motor yacht. The owner has made a real effort to find the top location, a pool designer who perfectly embeds the project into this environment, a pool builder then carefully deploys what has been conceived. All this effort will stand out with a beautiful diving board. Compare it with dressing up for a special evening, the jewel will be put on last, the finishing touch to make it all

perfect. Is your garden ready for art?
Design, innovation, respect for nature and a constant effort to improve are the main pillars of the brand that pioneered the use of specific techniques.

Located in Belgium, we’re proud to export the bulk of our production all over the world, adding the Belgian sense of precision and correctness in the package. Renowned all over the world and adopted by the most beautiful residential pools and motor yachts on the planet. Mikel Tube stands for personal relationships with customers. A small dedicated team handles the one to one contact creating a trustful relationship over any distance. Mikel personally gives advice and even creates the design of the global project if requested.
Once a week Mikel takes the time to discuss projects remotely via video conferencing. “How would you want our customers to trust us unless they can reach us” would be his most repeated guideline. After a customer has introduced a request, a dedicated contact will be designated to help this particular customer through the whole process. Starting with advice on the type of board or the size of the bracket, then entering the phase of safety communication and maintenance and finally ending with the helping hand on shipping and delivery, always one dedicated personal contact. Blending beauty with fun with functionality is what design is about. A design that doesn’t go by this rule will not sell, it could end up in a museum. Blending quality and style with affordability is the real challenge. Every design lover knows it comes with a price. Finding the balance between affordability and quality/style will lead to products that actually sell.

Mikel advises every pool owner to add a diving board as a safety measure. Water is not the natural habitat for people, so safety should be one of the major concerns of a pool owner. Water means the risk of drowning or hitting objects. A diving board will orient the diver to the deep end of your pool, you’ll make him dive from the spot where he/she cannot touch the bottom of the pool. Diving from the deck on the shallow end will always be dangerous. Some of the customers use the diving board cover to give a clear message to their children that the pool is not open.

A diving board is an optional feature for your pool. In a world where we are overwhelmed with options, our directive is to assist you.
A personal contact with direct access to Mikel, is assigned to you. She will assist and make you aware of the different aspects to take in account Is my pool big enough? Why choose a specific size of bracket? What about the length of the board? What about maintenance? Is it safe? Will my kids love it?
This is what we are, the only producer of wooden diving boards in the world. And with pride we extend this to excellent customer service.
Here, our assistant Emilie and the customer’s research resulted in a curved model on a curved base. Admit, it melts perfectly in this environment

“We need your Gravelrings as his Highness is coming, and the garden will see all kinds of traffic. It has to stay firm and still look beautiful,”

Ahead of the Royal Windsor Flower Show, the lead Garden Designer for the project at Landform contacted Beauxfort with a clear brief: create a flawless, stable gravel surface worthy of royal approval.
With His Majesty in attendance and the garden’s reputation on the line, the installation had to be both strong and stunning. The designer envisioned a natural, self-binding gravel surface that looked seamless while standing up to the demands of the event.
The solution? Gravelrings, a high-performance gravel stabilisation system that effortlessly delivered elegance and durability across the 110sqm garden pathway.
When designing a garden for a royal audience, every element had to look and perform flawlessly, including the surface underfoot. The gravel surface needed to complement the garden’s ‘Patterns in Nature’ theme, balancing natural beauty with lasting strength.
The Gravelrings’ mesh-base design made that possible, keeping the gravel perfectly in place even under continuous foot traffic. Once filled, the grid vanished completely, allowing Allgreen’s Harleyford Blend to take centre stage; a light, natural-looking finish that blended seamlessly with the surrounding planting. The result was a self-binding gravel surface that looked beautiful, stayed firm, and enhanced the elegance of the entire garden.
The garden not only had to look perfect, but it also had to perform. The pathways would face continuous foot traffic, wheelchairs, pushchairs, trolleys and more, all while contending with the
unpredictability of British weather.
Gravelrings’ low-profile design provided the strength needed beneath the surface while remaining completely invisible, preserving the garden’s natural aesthetic and the intricate Fibonacci-inspired layout. Beyond its appearance, the system gave the Landform team complete confidence that the pathways would stay stable, smooth, and flawless from start to finish.’
Described by the installation team as ‘easy to work with,’ Gravelrings helped them create a surface that looked immaculate and felt completely stable underfoot. Designer Alan Williams shared that he was ‘very happy with the garden,’ and Landform later requested to use the same system at their Glasshouse Collective show space, a testament to its performance and lasting value.
This project perfectly demonstrates what Gravelrings was designed for: a stable, sustainable, and stylish gravel surface that performs as beautifully as it looks.
Beauxfort provides the UK’s only mesh base designed to lock gravel tightly in place - preventing ruts, migration and visible grids while maintaining a clean, traditional gravel finish. Our systems help create surfaces that stay neat and stable year after year.
Alongside gravel stabilisation, the Beauxfort range also includes discreet edging solutions, tree root protection systems and grass stabilisation grids - helping architects deliver practical, durable landscapes without compromising on appearance. beauxfort.com
