ashioning Masculinities: The Art of Menswear is the first major V&A exhibition to celebrate the power, artistry and diversity of masculine attire and appearance. The show traces how menswear has been fashioned and refashioned over the centuries, and how designers, tailors and artists – and their clients and sitters – have constructed and performed masculinity, and unpicked it at the seams. Fashioning Masculinities presents around 100 looks and 100 artworks, displayed thematically across three galleries - Undressed, Overdressed, and Redressed.

Contemporary looks by legendary designers and rising stars are displayed alongside historical treasures from the V&A’s collections and landmark loans: classical sculptures, Renaissance paintings, iconic photographs, and powerful film and performance.

The Goodwood Revival is the world’s greatest historic motor race meeting, and the only sporting event of its kind to be staged entirely in a period theme. More than just an unrivalled weekend of historic racing, it is an immersive celebration of a less disposable world, where “make do and mend” was a way of life rather than a casual slogan. All the cars are original, having been lovingly maintained since new, many of the outfits have been handed down through generations, and even the retailers specialise in pre-owned artefacts – everything from clothes and accessories to automobilia and books.Theworld’s largest celebration of special buildings and neighbourhoods, Open House Festival will turn 30 this September with a fortnight-long programme of tours, free events and publications exploring London’s housing, architecture and landscapes.The30th anniversary festival will feature its most diverse mix of events to date including tours of buildings never before opened to the public, music performances in unique and hidden spaces, and the publication of London Feeds Itself, a new book exploring the capital’s food culture.

PEDAL POWER: HOLD ONTO YOUR HATS! Arguably the most competitive race over the weekend, the Settrington Cup, first seen at the Goodwood Revival in 2012, has become a firm favourite amongst visitors and of course the youngsters! As Goodwood celebrate a heart-warming 10 years of the beloved race, they will be joined by budding young racers aged between four and 11 as they take to their classic Austin J40 pedal cars. OH, SO VINTAGE! Bringing to life the ‘Make Do and Mend’ ethos, you can see their fabulous Revival community thrift, borrow and restyle items to embrace the glamorous styles of the 1940s, ‘50s and ‘60s. This year, they are launching the new Revive & Thrive Village, hosting a spectacular line-up of workshops, demonstrations, talks and exhibitions. This new event area will present a modern take on the post-war attitude as an antidote to today’s disposable culture.

OFF TRACK ATTRACTIONS Away from the track, visitors can also enjoy the display at March Motor Works. This year the display will include a Rolls-Royce Phantom 2 Continental, BMW 28 GMC1, and an R5 motorcycle which belongs to The Duke of Richmond himself, whose grandfather bought it in 1936. Fun for all the family continues Over The Road (quite literally!) as visitors to the event can enjoy all kinds of festivities whether that’s making the most of the vintage fairground, exploring the Revival High Street or joining in with live music and dancing. Also don’t miss the Revival Cinema presented by Sky Cinema, there will be something for everyone - which classic are you hoping to catch? It is, proudly, the world’s biggest and most glamorous second-hand event.

ondon Transport Museum’s Depot has been open to the public since 1999, but very few people know the full history about how the Depot, which houses more than 320,000 objects from the Museum’s collection, came into existence. As part of London Transport Museum’s final Depot Open Days for 2022, visitors can hear from a range of Museum historians and curators, transport experts and volunteers about what it takes to keep a collection store of this size running smoothly. The ‘Depot Unlocked’ Open Days are taking place on Thursday 22 September to Sunday 25 September at London Transport Museum Depot in Acton Town, west London. FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE: Key Anniversaries. The festival will mark key historic anniversaries including: the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with talks from Robert Hardman, journalist and author of Queen of Our Times; and official BBC historian, Robert Seatter will present The BBC at 100 to mark the centenary of the British Broadcasting Corporation.

Founded in 2019, the Chelsea History Festival is a partnership between the National Army Museum, the Royal Hospital Chelsea and Chelsea Physic Garden. It aims to bring the past to life through immersive events, featuring storytellers and performers from different walks of life. Set across venues along the historic Royal Hospital Road, the Festival creates a stage for world-class speakers and authors for a celebration of history.

Interactive Events Returning for the 2nd year is an immersive experience in Burton Court, Royal Hospital Road, where living historians will bring London’s incredible past to life. Train in medieval combat at the Plantagenet-period Sword School before travelling down the street to meet Tudors, Georgians and 17th-century citizens

The Royal Hospital Chelsea, home of the iconic veterans of the British Army, will open its doors for public tours led by the Chelsea Pensioners on 21 and 23 September. Tickets cost £15 and can be purchased in advance. Family Activities Across the opening weekend, the festival will host events and talks aimed at families. Much-loved children’s authors Iszi Lawrence and awardwinning Tom Palmer will give talks on their latest books: Billy Swift Takes Flight and Resist: One Girl’s Fight Back Against the Nazis respectively. At the National Army Museum, The History Tellers will bring history to life through a series of performances. From dinosaurs to Dunkirk, children and adults alike will have their imaginations captured with these live shows recreating historical moments. Chelsea Physic Garden A talk by Jacek Wajer, Curator of the General Herbarium at the NHM will discuss the impact of Miller’s collection and the Chelsea Physic Garden. Miller was Head Gardener at Chelsea Physic Garden from 1722 to 1770.

On 24 & 25 September, Chelsea Physic Garden, the oldest botanic garden in London, will open its doors free of charge exclusively for the Festival. Visitors can take part in activities including pond dipping, planting, and storytelling, as well as enjoy the delights of the Physic Garden Café. Their legacy began in 1814 when James Purdey opened the doors of his eponymous business on Princes Street (now Gerrard Street). Middle ear infections could be due to hole in the ear drum. This could lead to water getting in and infecting middle ear lining. Another reason for middle ear infection could be cholesteatoma. What is a cholesteatoma? Cholesteatoma is an infection of the ear in which dead skin cells can grow and expand in the middle ear. As cholesteatoma is an expanding cyst, it can grow and damage hearing, facial nerve and/ or balance.

This allows you to move up to six pans from one zone to another, without having to adjust the temperature.
