Don’t forget your transportation reservations! Since this is the busy season for the island, remember to book your ferry or airline tickets in advance. The Steamship Authority begins taking reservations for the upcoming season in the beginning of January. Most airlines, local and national, begin reservation bookings in early spring. Be sure to keep a lookout for those announcements and follow @fishernantucket to stay-up-to-date on these important dates and reminders. You may also opt in to our monthly newsletter to stay in the know on all island activities.
Need a babysitter or thinking of hosting a dinner party during your stay? There are multiple concierge and babysitting services on the island and Team Fisher is happy to help put you in touch with them. From grocery shopping to recreational planning, even in-home spa or chef services, we’ll direct you to the best team.
Restaurant reservations are another thing to keep top of mind before your stay. If you haven’t already booked a reservation, be sure to check out our dining guide in the upcoming pages and confirm with the restaurant beforehand if they accept same-day reservations and/or walk-ins.
While Nantucket is THE place to be in the summer, you really can’t beat the off-season. We encourage everyone to consider booking a “shoulder season” trip. The crowds are thinner and the ocean is still warm (September and October), and there are multiple weekend festivals and events. Most notably, the prices become more budgetfriendly and many of the homes don’t require mandatory seven-day stays, perfect for a quick weekend getaway!
Contact an agent! Whether you are looking for a spacious compound for the summer or a quaint cottage for Christmas Stroll weekend we can help. Call 508.228.4407, email info@ fishernantucket.com, or stop by our office at 21 Main Street to speak with one of our knowledgeable rental agents.
Whether you are a seasoned renter or this is your first time to the island, Team Fisher wants to ensure you make the most out of this trip and every trip to come! We’ve compiled a few tips to help guide your rental experience.
The number one question we are asked is, “where should we visit or stay on island?” Family-friendly compounds, oceanfront retreats, secluded cottages or in-town hideaways, Fisher has a rental property for everyone. And though you may have already decided where to stay this year, our neighborhood guide will help for your return trip and for sightseeing.
For more information on each neighborhood, visit ack.fish/areas or visit our Instagram highlight @fishernantucket.
While we suggest booking eight months to one year in advance, many rental properties are reserved at least six months in advance. For holidays and festival weekends, we suggest booking eight months to one year in advance for the largest selection of available properties. That said, we are always adding new rental inventory so don’t hesitate to call us to find out what might be the best fit for you or your group.
Stop by our 21 Main Street office and chat with our rental agents to research properties for your next vacation.
