Detroit Fisher House.

The John D. Dingell VA Medical Center is a teaching hospital serving the health care needs of nearly 350,000 veterans living in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, and St. Clair Counties in Michigan. The hospital serves about 44% of the veteran population of Michigan’s lower peninsula.

The 20-suite Detroit Fisher House will provide up to 7,300 nights of lodging, providing savings to families of up to $970,000 in lodging and transportation per year.

Fisher House Foundation builds comfort homes where military and veteran families can stay free of charge while a loved one is in the hospital.

Donors who contribute $25,000 or more to the construction of a Fisher House will receive the following benefits: 9 Invitations to house celebration events 9 Recognition in Fisher House Foundation’s annual report 9 Eligible for social media recognition upon approval

THE FISHER HOUSE PROGRAM PROVIDES a home away from home for families of patients receiving medical care at major military and VA medical centers. The homes provide temporary, free lodging so families can be close to their loved ones during a medical crisis. Fisher Houses create an instant community for their residents, while also providing each family with a safe and inviting refuge after a long day to rest and recharge.
