Thank you for making 2023 an incredible year for taking care of military and veteran families. We are grateful to have had your support as we continued our journey along the Road to 100 Fisher Houses.
It’s incredible to reflect upon the more than 500,000 families who have called Fisher Houses a home away from home since the first Fisher House doors opened in Bethesda, Maryland 33 years ago. In 2023, we completed two new houses in Bay Pines, Florida and Columbia, Missouri bringing our total at the end of the year to 96 Fisher Houses. We’ve already made great strides in 2024, finishing houses in San Antonio, Texas and Memphis, Tennessee and with another three currently under construction. We should reach the 100th Fisher House in early 2025!
Every house that opens is a milestone. Each opening is another house that will fulfill its mission of providing lodging at no cost to our military heroes and their families. Our goal is to allow families to focus on healing together without having to worry about the expensive costs of lodging. With your help, we have relieved families of this burden, saving them more than $610 million. Thanks to your continued support, our mission will continue long into the future.
We are honored to have you share in this journey. Your support ensures that together we can continue to be there for our greatest national treasure, our military service members, veterans, and their loved ones.

OUR MISSION
Fisher House Foundation, Inc. is an international not-for-profit organization established to improve the quality of life for members of the military, retirees, veterans, and their families. The Foundation builds comfort homes at military and VA medical centers and gifts them to the government. It assists with the coordination of private support and encourages public support for the network of comfort homes known as “Zachary and Elizabeth M. Fisher Houses.” It works to educate and inform the military and veteran communities, their families, and the general public about Fisher Houses and provides necessary support to individual Fisher Houses as needed. Other programs include scholarships, an awards program recognizing innovative programs for military and veteran communities, the Hero Miles and Hotels for Heroes programs, and individual assistance to members of the military and their families during a crisis.
