Introduction The third application window for the Countryside Productivity Small Grants (CPSG) has opened. This follows on from Round One in Spring 2018 and from Round Two in Summer 2019. The CPSG provides funding for farmers towards specific items of equipment to improve in either technical efficiency, animal health and welfare, resource efficiency or nutrient management.

Grant available Grants of up to 40% of the standard cost of the item are available (50% in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly).

Applications must be between £3,000 and £12,000 and those who applied and were successful in Round One and/or Round Two, can apply in this Round as long as the value of both applications does not exceed the maximum of £12,000 and this grant meets the minimum threshold of £3,000, i.e. the grant in the previous rounds must have been £9,000 or below.

Key Dates The closing date for applications is Midday 4th November 2020. Once the closing date has passed, the Rural Payments Agency expects Grant Funding Agreements (GFAs) to be offered to successful applicants as soon as possible after the closing date. The grant funded equipment must be purchased and paid for in full and any items installed by 31st March 2021. Although equipment must not be ordered or purchased before the GFA is received, claimants are urged to order items quickly after an Agreement has been offered.

Applications Applications must be in a single claim and made using the online portal on the Countryside Productivity page on GOV.UK and applicants must have full permissions for the applicant’s business on the Rural Payments service.
