MAY 1, Annual Meeting & Church Picnic “With God, All Things Are Possible!”

As we gather together for worship, education, fellowship, the Annual Meeting and the Church Picnic this coming Sunday (please see the schedule listed below), our sermon title will be “With God, All Things Are Possible!” We will also ordain and install our new elders in the Class of 2014 during the 10:15 Worship hour (one service only), and re-affirm the theme “Christ At The Center” which has helped to guide us and provide our congregation with a sense of identity and direction over the past decade. I look forward to seeing all of you on this special Sunday, and to celebrating our life together in the Lord!

MAY 8, MOTHER’s DAY “Remembering Erma Bombeck” Mother’s Day is a long standing tradition here at First Presbyterian Church, as we recognize and honor all of the women who have brought us into this world, raised us in our homes, helped to guide us through the journey of life, and walked beside us by faith every step of the way. The sermon title, “Remembering Erma Bombeck” will not only remind us of a very special woman who embodied motherhood in all of it’s joy and struggle, but will also help us focus on the scripture lesson from Proverbs 31 which I hope you will read prior to our worship services at 9:00 and 11:15 am. We will also collect a special offering for the Presbyterian Homes of Georgia, designated by our Session to help sustain the older adults who cannot afford to pay the full amount for the care and concern which they receive. We hope and pray that everyone will give generously as the Lord has given to you, and to God be the glory!

Faithfully yours,

George B. Wirth
