Tasting notes

Anderson Valley’s 2021 vintage was one of those special years where everything fell perfectly into place. After a dry winter, spring began with cool weather as roots ventured far underground to find water. In the deep end of the valley, chilly nights and ocean breezes kept summer temperatures warm and mild. This allowed grapes to ripen steadily into August until well-timed heat spikes carried this pristine vintage to the finish line resulting in expressive wines that were truly made in the vineyard.

As one of the coolest growing regions in California, it’s easy to understand why Anderson Valley makes an impeccable home to Pinot Noir. Clear summer skies drench grapes in warmth and sunshine, encouraging plump fruit flavors and fuller-bodied styles. High heat is countered by the valley’s proximity to the Pacific Ocean as coastal fog, and sea breezes protect Pinot Noir’s nuanced aromas and graceful acidity. This idyllic setting shapes complex and expressive wines with impressive age-ability.
