Mumbai: The Trinamool Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) have declined to sign a complaint against the Adani Group, which was intended for the Enforce- ment Directorate. This decision has caused Congress leaders to note that there is a distinction between the two parties, as the NCP is aligned with the Congress and other similar parties on various critical issues.
On March 15th and 16th, Opposition parties including the Congress, Aam Aadmi Party and Bharat Rashtra Samithi marched from Parliament to submit a complaint to the ED against the Adani Group, levelling serious allegations against the multinational conglomerate.
During a meeting held prior to the march, a representative of the Nationalist Congress
Party (NCP) was in attendance but refrained from signing the complaint. According to two leaders of the Congress party, the NCP had concerns regarding a development project in Mumbai that was a priority for the Maha Vikas Aghadi government, in which the Shiv Sena, NCP, and Congress were previously partners.
“The NCP leader present in the meeting told us that they are with us in spirit but not in body, indicating their reluctance to join the march,” said a Congress leader. very high and it is a major cause of pollution. I have given directives to officials tackle dust generation at source.” It will be made compulsory to sprinkle water periodically at construction sites, Kesarkar said, adding, “All this will be done in 8 to 15 days.”
In its letter to the ED, the opposition flagged the network of offshore shell companies allegedly involved in stock manipulation and money laundering, the AdiCorp’s funnelling of funds from the Adani Group back to Adani Power among others.
