The deadly cyclone will be crossing Saurashtra & Kutch and adjoining Pakistan coasts between Mandvi (Guj) and Karachi (Pak) near Jakhau Port (Guj). While the areas of Kachchh, Devbhumi Dwarka & Jamnagar will witness light to moderate rainfall, very heavy showers are expected in Porbandar, Rajkot, Morbi and Junagarh districts of Gujarat. Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely over remaining districts of Saurashtra and north Gujarat region, IMD said in its latest bulletin.

The main impact will be in Gujarat’s Kachchh area and south area of Rajasthan. Some areas may witness extremely heavy rainfall and chances of flood are also there.

I&B Ministry on Thursday has cautioned that reporting from the ground level may pose serious risks to the safety and security of the reporters, cameramen, and other personnel deployed by private satellite TV channels for reporting this incident. The ministry expressed concern that such ground reporting may put at risk the lives of various personnel deployed. It has strongly advised media to exercise abundant precaution and due care in matter of deployment of their personnel in areas likely to be affected.
