ABOUT THE CAA The Council of Ambulance Authorities (CAA) is a not-for-profit national charity and operates as the peak body for the Australian, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea ambulance health sectors.

The CAA works tirelessly to collaborate on ambulance health sector issues of metropolitan, regional, national and international significance.

We stand alongside ambulance services, healthcare professionals, and researchers to build community awareness and foster new thinking in patient-centred care by ambulance healthcare services.

The CAA was set up in 1962 with the aim to provide ambulance service CEOs a networking opportunity to discuss issues, learnings and achievements current to the ambulance industry.

Since its expansion to eleven service members across Australasia, the CAA has established over 15 groups and committees focused on diverse sector areas to enhance networking opportunities. The CAA has emerged as a leader in the Women in Ambulance Development sector, driving progress in education and advocacy.

Member services’ collective knowledge and expertise provide a sound foundation to explore opportunities for improvement and innovation and to advocate on the sector’s behalf in key areas.

CAA TODAY Today, the CAA is the primary source for information, education, and advocacy in the Australasian Ambulance Health Sector. We build and nurture stakeholder relationships, collect and analyse relevant data, and deliver all CAA-related information to our member services.

The Board consists of CEOs, CEs and Commissioners from each member service and the member services collective knowledge and expertise provide a sound foundation to explore opportunities for improvement and innovation and to advocate on the sector’s behalf in key areas.

Ambulance service representatives on collaborative groups contribute to the CAA’s focus on evidence-based initiatives and projects designed to keep ambulance services at the forefront of paramedicine and patient care.

The CAA’s national events and representations in international forums build on strategic relationships with government and agencies to help address challenges, future plans, and deliver optimum services.
