would you believe?!) and another day jam-packed with fun, outdoors and in. And all for FREE. We’re thrilled to have you along for the ride.
This year we’ve gone a little bit retro, with a hint of summer party. The perfect mix for time with friends and family, close to home.
The brand-new Everywhere’s a Beach takes place under a giant revolving parasol, while Tell Me a Story and Cardboard Carnival feature some very lovable puppets.
Eau de Memoire is most definitely to be sniffed at – noses at the ready. Look Mum, No Hands! and Tape That show the possibilities of circus and acrobatics. Meanwhile, Solid Gold Fitness and Mr Wilson’s Second Liners will be ramping up the energy and retro.
We’ve a whole goody bag of handson treats. Have-a-go at puppet making or animation, make some noise in the Sound Garden, or jump into a life-sized arcade game with the return of The Actual Reality Arcade. Look out for Big Mob –giant slinkies that might take you by surprise – and the Vegetable
Nannies who could do with a hand with their young brood. As always, don’t forget to keep your eyes peeled for a few other surprises!
The Full Shebang is produced and presented by First Art, a local arts charity that aims to inspire more people to experience and shape cultural events and activities in Ashfield, Mansfield, Bolsover and North East Derbyshire.
Please be aware we’ll be filming and taking photos on the day. Please let one of our team (in bright pink t-shirts) know if you don’t want to be included.
We hope you have a great day and thanks for being part of it.
This guide has info of all that’s happening throughout the day. You’ll find details of each event including what, when and where.
At the back is a full timetable and a map, showing performance locations, and where to find toilets, First Aid, and the Festival Info Point.
The handy ‘See The Full Shebang’ schedule gives a suggested plan for the day if you want to make sure you fit almost everything in (p36-37).
All shows and activities are suitable for all ages unless otherwise stated. We’ve access provisions in place to make the festival easier for as many people to enjoy it as possible - you can find out more on page 4.
All information in this Festival Guide is correct at the time of going to print and subject to change without notice.
None of this would be possible without our funders and supporters – so a huge thanks goes to them.
First Art is a partner in Without Walls, a consortium of festivals and arts organisations bringing fantastic outdoor arts to people in towns and cities across England. Find out more at www.withoutwalls.uk.com

Perfect for the whole family, Everywhere’s a Beach is a charmingly ridiculous performance, taking place on a giant revolving beach parasol.
This dynamic, dizzying and downright daft show will leave you dancing with delight.
You’ll be swept away as this show embraces everything we love about the beach. The giant spinning parasol creates the perfect setting for the eccentric beach loving characters. Watch as their world collides with yours, and sophistication turns to chaos in this aerial circus performance.

Tape That is a charming, light-hearted, non-verbal acrobatic duet.
Two performers construct a visual world using colourful tape, object manipulation and partner acrobatics. A simple roll of tape transforms from DJ decks to a spyglass and is stretched to create physical barriers and obstacles for the performers to navigate.
Tape That is a playful exploration of the world we live in; when challenges present themselves, just how many problems can be fixed with a few rolls of duct tape?

Everyone has a story to tell and a memory to share.
Unlock yours in this family adventure down memory lane, where you’ll experience stories of the people, places, and objects we hold dear.
Musicians, performers and storytellers come together with puppetry and song to tell collected stories and unlock memories.
Having worked closely with care homes that support those living with Dementia over recent years, HandMade Theatre have found music, storytelling and objects have brought to life memories that have been stored away, held close.
This project has allowed them to collect stories, from both older and younger audiences, to look at the journeys of our lives through creative exploration. What does childhood and growing up feel like to different people, at different times, in different places?
