Jordan Dimitrov is best known for his exquisite nautical art and vessels sculptures, exploiting any and all available materials he can work with his hands. After graduating with MFA from Shumen University ,Bulgaria in 2001, he decided to focus on his art and proceed his childhood dream by creating nautical vessels. Dimitrov grew up in a family which is very into arts,and he himself played the piano for 12 years, but the love of drawing and creating sculptures prevail.Inspired by nautical tales and legends, Dimitrov begins to create imaginary ,as real-looking old sailing vessels. Traveling with Carnival Cruise lines as an artist, Dimitrov has traveled to islands of the Bahamas and the Caribbean, which heighten the passion for creating art.This strong emotion can be seen in highly detailed, full of symbolism works.

2017 is a very exciting year for Dimitrov and the entire artistic community in Southern California ,because of the new grounds of the Art Festival in Laguna Beach. In his presentation at the Art Festival 2017, Dimitrov will exhibit work from his new collections.

American Ballet Theatre's 'Nutcracker' in Costa Mesa combines local kids and a superstar

A leader in the arts since 1932, the Festival of Arts, a non-profit organization, is a major contributor to the growth and development of the Laguna Beach community. Renowned for its annual summer juried fine art show and Pageant of the Masters, these two world-class events have a not to-be-missed reputation.
Though it’s only in its second season as an Orange County Christmas staple, American Ballet Theatre’s“The Nutcracker,” which opened Friday at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, already feels as familiar and beloved as a much older tradition playing next door, South Coast Repertory’s “A Christmas Carol.” Visually, ABT’s “Nutcracker” is a feast, but it’s not just glitter for its own sake. Richard Hudson, best known for his scenic design on “The Lion King,” is responsible for the sets and costumes, and the latter are a sumptuous delight, especially in the secondact fashion show.
The Festival of Arts also has an extensive Permanent Art Collection and awards scholarships and grants to local high school students and art organizations. Elected to the Festival of Arts Board of Directors for three-year terms are Fred Sattler, David Perry and Scott Moore. Jennifer Tipton’s lighting smartly sets off the costumes at exactly the right moments, transforming them into gaudy bombs of color.Under the expert baton of ABT music director Ormsby Wilkins, the pit musicians played emotionally but not overindulgently, which can be a danger with Tchaikovsky’s gorgeous Romantic score. Just as it did last year, though, the string section sounded thin. It’s the only undernourished part of Ratmansky’s pull-out-thestops production. If this “Nutcracker” had as many fiddles as mice and kids, it would sound as big as it looks.-OC Register
Stevie Wonder and celebrity guests play Santa Claus in L.A For two decades R&B singer, songwriter, producer and all-around music legend Stevie Wonder has hosted his House Full of Toys benefit concert to collect thousands of unwrapped gifts for the holidays for children, people with disabilities and families in need.Before the festivities kicked off to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the special event Friday night, U-Hauls were spotted outside of the Microsoft Theater in Downtown Los Angeles, loaded up the gifts that fans donated at the door. As patrons continued to file in, there were still dozens of cardboard donation boxes scattered around the outside of the venue that were still overflowing with toys.There was an almost overwhelming sense of holiday spirit as Christmas music was piped out into the L.A. Live complex just outside the theater and patrons drank hot chocolate and coffee near the adjacent temporary ice skating rink, which was set up around a ginormous sparking Christmas tree.

Dana Point Boat Parade brightens holiday spirits The Dana Pride was the lead boat in the 42nd annual Dana Point Boat Parade of Lights that kicked off Friday.The parade, which will occur again at 7:30 tonight and Dec. 16 and 17, starts at the mouth of the harbor and goes past Dana Wharf to the turn basin at the harbor’s launch ramp next to Waterman’s Restaurant.At least 75 boats continue past the Wind and Sea Restaurant and south to the bridge, where thousands are lined up to watch. The parade turns at the bridge and retraces its route past the Orange County Sheriff’s Harbor Patrol station and down the channel to the Ocean Institute and back to the bridge.

back at Disneyland in January The “Baroque Hoedown” will be heard at Disneyland once again, when the Main Street Electrical Parade returns to its original park Jan. 20. Disneyland announced the start date for the return of the parade on its Disney Parks blog today. The parade will only have a limited run at Disneyland with its last performance June 18.
