Dimitrov has explored and experienced the beauty of the Bahamas and the Caribbean islands,which heighten the passion for creating art.This strong emotion can be seen in highly detailed, full of symbolism works.

2017 is a very exciting year for Dimitrov and the entire artistic community in Southern California ,because of the new grounds at the Art Festival of Laguna Beach. In his presentation at the Art Festival 2017, Dimitrov will exhibit work from his new collections.

Jordan Dimitrov is best known for his exquisite nautical art and vessels sculptures, exploiting any and all available materials he can work with his hands.

After graduating with MFA from Shumen University ,Bulgaria in 2001, he decided to focus on his art and proceed his childhood dream of creating nautical vessels.

Dimitrov grew up in a family which is very into arts,and he himself played the piano for 12 years, but his love of drawing and creating sculptures prevail.Inspired by nautical tales and legends, Dimitrov begins to create imaginary ,as real­looking old sailing vessels. THE FLOATING PIERS Visitors were able experience this work of art by walking on it from Sulzano to Monte Isola and to the island of San Paolo, which was framed by The Floating Piers. The mountains surrounding the lake offered a bird’s­eye view of The Floating Piers, exposing unnoticed angles and altering perspectives.

Lake Iseo is located 100 kilometers east of Milan and 200 kilometers west of Venice. “Like all of our projects, The Floating Piers were absolutely free and open to the public,” said Christo.

“There were no tickets, no openings, no reservations and no owners. The Floating Piers were an extension of the street and belonged to everyone.”

In the spring and summer of 2014, Christo, Vladimir Yavachev – Operations Director, Wolfgang Volz – Project Manager and Official Photographer, and Josy Kraft – Registrar/Curator, scouted the lakes of Northern Italy. Along with Project Director Germano Celant, they found Lake Iseo to be the most inspiring location. Since that time they worked alongside team members from around the world to realize The Floating Piers The Floating Piers was first conceived by Christo and Jeanne­ Claude together in 1970. It was Christo’s first large­scale project since Christo and Jeanne­Claude realized The Gates in 2005, and since Jeanne­Claude passed away in 2009. As with all of Christo and Jeanne­Claude’s projects, The Floating Piers was funded entirely through the sale of Christo’s original works of art. After the 16­ day exhibition, all components were removed and industrially recycled..

AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE S NUTCRACKER IN COSTA MESA COMBINES LOCAL KIDS AND A SUPERSTAR ’

COSTA MESA >> Though it’s only in its second season as an Orange County Christmas staple, American Ballet Theatre’s “The Nutcracker,” which opened Friday at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, already feels as familiar and beloved as a much older tradition playing next door, South Coast Repertory’s “A Christmas Carol.”

Maybe that’s because ABT and O.C. have enjoyed a special bond ever since the Orange County Performing Arts Center (as the Segerstrom Center was then known) featured the New York-based company in its first season three decades ago; it has returned more than 20 times since then. Last year that relationship was strengthened when ABT opened a ballet school at the Segerstrom Center. All of the roles for kids in this year’s production are filled by dancers from ABT’s William J. Gillespie School at the Center.

That would explain the occasional squeals from the audience on Friday – the sounds of delighted parents, siblings and friends, no doubt. America’s most celebrated ballerina, Misty Copeland, attracted a lusty fandom of her own, too. (She will perform twice more during this run.)

Bottom line: it was a loud and happy house.

Created in 2010 by ABT’s artist in residence, Alexei Ratmansky, this “Nutcracker” isn’t perfect. The in-demand choreographer is undeniably musical, and his instincts are consummately theatrical, but the dancing occasionally lacks invention. Some supporting characters, such as a quartet of busy bees, have a restricted movement vocabulary that could have benefited from more exploration. Visually appealing phrases for the corps de ballet sometimes go on longer than necessary. Cuteness for its own sake can tip a scene from just right to overdone.

Despite those quibbles, in all the important ways this “Nutcracker” fills the bill. It’s a colorful, cinematic creation filled with spectacle, humor, eye-popping costumes and masterfully executed crowd scenes that will keep even wandering 5-year-old minds focused.

And even in moments of self-indulgence, you end up admiring the meticulous precision of Ratmansky’s technique, which is dense, demanding and often employs unexpected changes of direction and level.

The first scene takes place in the large kitchen of the bustling Stahlbaum home, where Clara lives with her family. As the cook (Gabe Stone Shayer) prepares the Christmas feast, a brazen mouse (Kellan Hayag) lounges under the counter in full view, enjoying a chunk of cheese. He turns the place upside down, swirling his tail with sassy defiance as he terrorizes the kitchen staff then runs off.

Other scenes further demonstrate Ratmansky’s comic talents. The Arabian dance from the Land of the Sugar Plum Fairy act is often presented as a pas de deux that reeks of empty exoticism. Instead, Ratmansky gives us five dancers: a harried guy (Thomas Forster) with an out-of-control harem. He just wants some alone time, but they torment him mercilessly. It’s a sly reversal of the usual power relationship.

Visually, ABT’s “Nutcracker” is a feast, but it’s not just glitter for its own sake. Richard Hudson, best known for his scenic design on “The Lion King,” is responsible for the sets and costumes, and the latter are a sumptuous delight, especially in the secondact fashion show. Jennifer Tipton’s lighting smartly sets off the costumes at exactly the right moments, transforming them into gaudy bombs of color.

Under the expert baton of ABT music director Ormsby Wilkins, the pit musicians played emotionally but not over-indulgently, which can be a danger with Tchaikovsky’s gorgeous Romantic score. Just as it did last year, though, the string section sounded thin. It’s the only undernourished part of Ratmansky’s pull-out-the-stops production. If this “Nutcracker” had as many fiddles as mice and kids, it would sound as big as it looks.

Ratmansky also excels at a 21st-century trait: psychological subtext. He’s more interested than were Balanchine, Baryshnikov and other “Nutcracker” choreographers in the underlying meaning of Clara’s experience. He shows us a girl who is apprehensive yet excited about pending adulthood and what it brings – especially the mysterious world of romance.

(Unfortunately, Ratmansky spells this out too literally in a final apron scene. It could go.)

Clara’s relationship with the Nutcracker Boy – playful, tentative and full of curiosity, qualities nicely captured by Ava MacLarand and Joshua Binowitz – compares in fascinating ways with the mature romantic partnership of the Princess and the Prince (Copeland and Herman Cornejo), which the choreographer makes clear are idealized older versions of the children. Their romantic and tender pas de deux in the second act is a culmination of the budding romance Clara is experiencing with the object of her obsession. On Friday, Cornejo and Copeland captured the necessary emotions with grace and beauty.
