The composer and lyricists of Curtains are the same minds behind theatrical favorites like Cabaret, and Chicago. Packed with stunning music, show-stopping dance numbers, and delightful characters, Curtains was nominated for eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical. This ridiculous murder-mystery comedy will keep you guessing, laughing, and just might pull at a few heartstrings. How do we reconcile with someone we have been estranged from for years? Should financial gain ever be the focus in any artistic endeavor? What does it mean to pursue a dream? Helping our students explore these concepts and give life and truth to their expressions on stage has been so rewarding.
Above all, this show is a love letter to the theatre and its people. There’s a specific line that comes to mind when I think of the incredible privilege we have to put on these types of shows and the value they hold for the students and families involved.
We can't picture being anything but show people
Civilians find the whole thing quite bizarre But that hop in our hearts
When the overture starts Helps us know how lucky we are.
THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart to the fabulous production team, cast and parents for making this entire process such a joy. This unforgettable experience exists because of youyou are making a difference! Thank you, thank you, thank you! To the cast - what an honor to work alongside each of you and witness your creativity, your wit, and your hearts.
