On May 14, 2022, the West Albany Fire Department held its 92nd installation of officers banquet. West Albany Fire Department is a close-knit generational department made up of multiple families whose fire linage goes back decades. During the evening’s events Brett Sullivan was presented the award of Firefighterof the Yearby his Lieutenant and brotherDaniel Sullivan, Jr. Daniel Sullivan Sr., is the Chief of the Department and Louise Sullivan is a Commissionerand has also held the lieutenant’s position. Installed officers consisted of Chief Daniel Sullivan, Sr., Deputy Chief Victor Graves, Assistant Chief Matthew Graves, Captain Ed Leisenfelder, Station Lieutenant Brett Sullivan, and Lieutenants Dave Reedy, Edwin Nazario, Vince Demare and Daniel Sullivan, Jr. Congratulations to West Albany Officers. - Fire News story by Lori Washburn; photos by Truck

Wynantskill Memorial Day Parade

Hundreds of people lined the streets as the Wynantskill Annual Memorial Day Parade passed by. The parade always brings marching bands, politicians, local community businesses and over 100 firefighters from throughout RensselearCounty to participate. 2022 Shortsville Fireman’s Carnival Parade

Midway’s Lawson Named FFof the Year

On May 7, 2022, the Midway Fire Department held its annual chief’s inspection and installation banquet. The event was the first since the pandemic. Port ChesterFreon Leak

On June 20, 2022, at around 1410, the Port ChesterFire Department responded to Costco on WestchesterAvenue fora report of smoke in the structure. Units arrived and quickly determined it wasn’t smoke from a fire, and determined there was a large freon leak on the second floor. Car2391 requested Purchase Engine 241 and Rye Engine 191 to the scene, and then latertransmitted a 10-75, bringing the Town of Mamaroneck FASTand Battalion 15.
