The port of Acapulco, Mexico, promises visitors adventure, romance, and relaxation. This is the top spot for Mexican and foreign holidaymakers who have made this destination, known as "the Pacific Jewel," internationally famous. The San Diego Fort is another must-see. Built in 1616 to defend the port from pirates, it is now home to Acapulco's Historical Museum. Visit the Ignacio Manuel Altamirano Park, a children's play area known locally as the Papagayo. Pre-Columbian artifacts and Mexican folk art are on display at the Miguel Alemรกn Archeological Museum. Plus, there are recreational water parks for the entire family to enjoy.
