Alabama Fire College is extremely fortunate to have outstanding facilities in which to train and exceptional programs that expound upon foundational fire service principles. The care, concern, and compassion exhibited by our instructors and staff illustrates an uncommon commitment to our mission.
By remaining student-focused and providing training experiences that ensure competency-based training that adheres to National Fire Protection Association standards, the Alabama Fire College has developed an esteemed reputation not only in Alabama, but across the nation. To maintain and improve the high standard of education and training that has come to be expected by our constituents, the Personnel Standards and Education Commission has authorized a modest tuition increase for Alabama Fire College courses Because training and education costs reflect a significant investment by departments and their emergency responders, the decision to increase tuition was made with careful deliberation and in the best interest of our students.
The adjustment is necessary to assist in offsetting increased operational costs. The tuition increases vary amongst courses but equates to approximately 10% and will occur on October 1, 2024 This change is being advertised now so that you can request appropriate funding for the upcoming fiscal year during your budget preparation. To provide transparency, the following tuition cost spreadsheet shows the increased rates.
We are very appreciative that the Alabama Fire College continues to receive unwavering support from our legislators, the Personnel Standards and Education Commission, and the entire fire service in Alabama. We are committed to ensuring your personnel receive firstrate training that will enhance their safety, efficiency, and effectiveness If you have any questions or concerns about the tuition adjustments please do not hesitate to contact Executive Director Matt Russell at mrussell@alabamafirecollege org
