Concept: Users and Lighting
The pavilion is located in Glasgow Botanic Garden, a popular destination for locals and tourists. Its central location, surrounded by residential areas, universities, hotels, and metro stations, ensures accessibility for a diverse audience.
Idea&Function
The pavilion’s primary function is to serve as a library with the following features:
• Book Exchange: Visitors can leave books they no longer need and take others for free.
• Digital Library: Access to e-books and digital resources.
• VR Library: Virtual reality provides an immersive reading experience.
The pavilion also includes cozy seating areas for studying, relaxing, and socializing, as well as outdoor seating connected to a café.
Vision
The pavilion combines sustainable architecture with innovative design, offering a tranquil, engaging environment that inspires learning and community connection.
Reason of placing pavilion on the under level is to avoid taking too much space and closing the view to botanic garden . And because of that I placed cafe and market
Windows attached to frames to prevent from getting rain inside of the pavilion.
Immense number of books such as digital, historic,art and so on.
In this level you can see how stairs are done they have wheelchair acess . And there is air conditioning inside of the pavilion.
This kinetic elements are able to open whent it sunny and close during night, strong wind rain and snow.
Acess to computers to study, work and read books digitally.
Metal construction frame of pavilion before attaching kinetic elements.
Reading area for visitors withmain sitting area in the middle and some armchair around the space.
Outdoor sitting area with benches and tables.
