While many things have changed as the business has grown, this mantra remains remarkably similar to the one TLG has followed over the past 35 years in working with farmers to build stronger, healthier herds together.
TLG remains committed to delivering the best genetics available, both locally and globally, for Australian farmers. Today, we have a wonderful opportunity to improve the efficiency and sustainability of our genetics through the ever-expanding and improving list of sires and genetic technologies.
The April 2025 breeding value releases in both Australia and North America are another indicator of the influence Total Livestock Genetics is having as a leading source of genetics best suited for Australian farming systems.
This catalogue is the strongest we’ve ever presented. This is evidenced on the Holstein front with 10 bulls over 3000 TPI and 5 above 500 BPI, meaning there is something to meet the needs of every farmer’s breeding program. New release bulls include COMET, LEVITATE, and LORAX. They show the diversity of the program, with
COMET, a high-type, high-index sire at 3244 GTPI and a bull that adds milk and components to help improve the farm bottom line. LEVITATE, a sire bred in Australia utilising the best of global genetics, adds milk and components as well as being a breed leader for health traits. LORAX is another outstanding high-index bull from the Peak breeding program. He is a bull that will produce shorter stature cows with neat udders and is an outcross sire for Australian breeders.
This is then backed up by bulls such as CARTEL, a bull with early-calving daughters that, by all reports, are meeting farmer needs and can be used widely at a budget-friendly price point.
For our Jersey breeders, we have a new release sire in SONGSIDE, with a solid type proof and backed by the Song cow family from Miami Jerseys in Western Victoria. DINGO is a bull that represents excellent value—a bull that will breed high-production cows with increased stature and type.

For the last 3 years, throughout October and November we aim to offer fresh sexed semen to our clients daily. Working closely with TLG they have made this process seamless to provide commercial, high health and low stature bulls for the Maffra market and work out the logistics for smooth delivery.
Results are consistently within a couple of % of conventional semen, in some cases the fresh sexed has come out higher. Our clients love the ease and flexibility of the fresh sexed product from TLG.
