‘Gippsland’s dairy cows amongst the finest in the country’
Some may say that 2021 was a mirror reflection of 2020, with Covid 19 continuing to cause many restrictions and inconvenience. It was therefore with great enthusiasm that once restrictions were lifted, Leading Edge Genetics was able to host its 12th On-Farm Presentation luncheon at the Drouin Golf Club, on Friday 3rd of December. A crowd of over 120 were in attendance when the winners of the five classes were announced by our judge for 2021, Mr Lindsay Marshall from Finley. Taking out the Overall Champion was the three-year-old class winner, in cow 5986 owned by Bill, Faye, Brett and Jodi Loughridge of Poowong North. Sired by Mogul, was this outstanding 2nd lactation cow, whose tremendous udder and width were some of the standout features for our judge Lindsay Marshall. Entry numbers were again excellent, with 427 entries across 58 different breeders.
