12. Apply for Austudy

We recommend that you apply for Austudy to assist you with your living expenses whilst you complete your studies / apprenticeship. We estimate based on your income and assets you will be eligible to receive a part / full payment of $XXX per fortnight ($XXX p.a.).

Benefits:

 You may also be eligible for other government assistance / discounts as a result of being eligible for Austudy. This may include: o Energy supplement o Fare allowance o Pharmaceutical allowance o Rent assistance o Sickness allowance  Receiving income payments from the government will ease financial pressure whilst you study / complete your apprenticeship.

Points to Consider:

 Eligibility criteria is income and asset-based and subject to change. You may lose access to Austudy if your income or assets increase or, changes are made to the eligibility criteria.  Your application will need to be processed and assessed before payments commence.  Should your circumstances change, you will need to notify Centrelink within 14 days.

13. Apply for Carer’s Allowance

We recommend that you apply for the Carer’s allowance to assist in meeting carer expenses and/or your living expenses whilst you care for <Care Recipient>. We estimate based on your income and <Care recipient>’s health, you will be eligible for a partial / full payment of $XXX per fortnight ($XXX p.a.).

Benefits:

 Receiving the allowance will help to meet some financial costs associated with caring for <Care recipient> and/or meeting some of your own expenses due to your limited capacity to earn income whilst caring for <Care recipient>.

14. Apply for a Carer Payment
