1. This Championship is confined to Irish Draught Foals, the progeny of a Class 1 (R.I.D.) Irish Draught Mare and an Irish Draught Stallion that is classified as Class 1 (ID C1) in the Irish Draught Horse Studbook.

2. The competition is open to either colt or filly foals.

3. Dams passports must be produced at qualifying shows and at the final. Foals passports / stallion owners covering certs must be produced at final.

4. Foals must be led at all times.

5. One qualifier per show or two qualifiers if the standard is high enough at the judge’s discretion.

6. On completion of judging, stewards must inform the successful competitor to visit the secretary’s office at the qualifying show within one hour and complete the necessary documentation for entry to the final. Note it is the responsibility of the exhibitor to make sure his/her foal is entered for the final.

7. Show Secretaries must forward the completed result cards, together with appropriate fee to the Oughterard Show secretary within 5 days of holding the qualifying class.

8. The Oughterard Show in consultation with the sponsor reserve the right to amend the rules as may be necessary.

It is envisaged that this competition will continue to give a new impetus to Irish Draught breeding and encourage farmers to produce quality Irish Draught stock on western farms.

6 Mare & Foal Unit: For mares registered with the IHR. Reg. Number must be stated on entry forms and owners must produce passports on the show day. R.I.D. mares and foals eligible. Each mare and foal will be judged as a unit, 50/50.

27 Ridden Irish Draught: Ridden hunter class for mares and geldings aged four and over who have at least one recorded Irish Draught parent.

28 Race Horse to Riding Horse Open: Any standard of exracehorse may enter, Mare or gelding to be shown under saddle exceeding 148 cm. Racing injuries blemishes etc. are not taken into consideration.

29 THE ALL IRELAND Open Race Horse to Riding Horse Championship Qualifier:

(This Championship is run in association with Racehorse to Riding Horse Ireland RH2RH Ire)

RULES AND CONDITIONS

1. Entries are confined to Thoroughbred Horses that have raced at Point to Point, Field or Racetrack and are registered with their relevant studbook.

2. The judges may ride each horse in all paces on either or both reins.

3. Conformation is not assessed in this Championship.

4. Judges will be looking for a well-mannered Riding Horse and all horses will be treated equally irrespective of their previous racing performance.

5. Two horses may be selected to qualify for the final if the judges and the ISA agree that the standard is high enough.

6. Horses must be at least 4 years old and riders at least 16 years of age.

7. Exhibitors at both Qualifying Shows and at the Final must have their passport available for inspection. Failure to comply with this rule will lead to disqualification

8. In addition to the Show Qualifiers, 2 further places at the Final may be awarded from an equivalent competition organised by RH2RH Ire.

Class Description

53 Novice Family Pony or Rider: for novice ponies or riders only, mares or geldings, 4 years and over, not exceeding 133 cm suitable for and to be ridden by riders who have not attained their 10th birthday by 01/01/23, ponies can be lead. Special prizes will be awarded to all exhibitors in this class.

54 Junior Family Pony Riding Class: for mares or geldings, 4 years and over, not exceeding 138cm. Riders to be under 12 years on 1st January in current year and off lead rein.

55 Senior Family Pony Riding Class: for mares or geldings, 4 years and over, not exceeding 148cm. Riders having attained their 12th but not their 17th on January 1st in current year.

• All animals at the show must be haltered properly as the Show Committee will not be liable for any damage caused by untamed animals.

• The Show Committee reserves the right to cancel or amalgamate classes if insufficient entries.

• The Committee reserve the right to substitute cash prizes with vouchers for product.

• No more than ONE Red Rosette Prizes to be awarded to any one animal.

• All animals in Class 108 to be mouthed on entry to the Ring.

• All Animals must have ‘X’ Bred on Card.

• ALL CALVES WILL BE WEIGHED at 11am on the day by a Committee Member

• Based on weight each category will be sub divided on a 50/50 basis.

1. The competition is open to All Breeds of non pedigree Heifers, suitable to produce and rear a calf with potential for current commercial beef markets.

3. Heifer's potential mothering ability will be assessed.

1. The competition is open to girls and boys, age on the 1st September will determine the class each exhibitor enters.

2. One exhibitor qualifies from each qualifying show for the final.

4. An exhibitor can show an animal belonging to another herd owner.

5. Senior exhibitors will exhibit a male or female calf born after 1 st January 2023.

6. Calf identify cards to be available for inspection on show day.

7. Exhibitors may be asked for proof of their age at the final.

8. An adult may aid an exhibitor in the junior class if deemed necessary.

The competition will be judged on criteria, which may include the following:

1. The ability to handle and present the animal to its best advantage in the Show Ring.

1. The competition is open to All Breeds of Pedigree Suckler Type Heifers.

RULES AND CONDITIONS:

PRIZE FUND: €750

1. This competition is open to All Traditional Genotype 4*or 5* Breeding Heifers, suitable to make a Suckler Cow.

2. Full tag number must be submitted with entry to ensure that genotype rating can be verified.

3. Heifers may be in calf or maiden. All Heifers must be between 12 months and 24 months of age on the date of the show.

4. Each Heifer can only enter this competition at up to five shows. If a heifer enters more than five shows, any further prizemoney will be forfeited.

5. All heifers must be halter-trained and led by a competent adult.

To be held at approx 4pm

All Donkeys to be broken, in good condition and will be inspected prior to racing. (i.e. hooves must be trimmed) Under no circumstances will the use of any whip / crop / spurs be permitted. Automatic disqualification for breach of these rules. All Riders to wear helmets, failure to do so will be at own risk.

Entry Fee €5 per donkey per class - No more than One Red Rossette per donkey
