I am a hardworking, proactive individual who consistently meets deadlines by using physical and digital tools, from hand sketching to Revit modelling to deliver work to the best of my ability. I have over nine months of experience in a part 1 position across several sectors such as residential design, civic buildings, and care facilities.

Experience:

Anderson Bell + Christie Architects, Glasgow:

Part 1 Architectural Assistant - February 2024 – Present

In my current role, I predominantly work as part of a team to deliver projects up to RIBA Stage 3, navigating statutory consent processes. I also have experience in stage 4 and 5 projects, working towards building warrant submissions and processing RFIs once a project is under construction. This involves the use of software such as Revit to make updates to models and drawings, alongside various other rendering and graphic software to compile reports.

Working at AB+C has taught me the value of collaboration between design team members and the power of an organised, consistent work flow. I now also understand the importance of communication both verbally and visually when liaising with clients. Overall, I have had a great experience and I have learnt a lot. I am grateful for the variety of typologies and the different scales of projects that I have worked on during my time with the company.

Sirius Academy North, Hall Road, Kingston upon Hull: 1 to 1 Tutor - November 2023- February 2024

In my role as a 1-1 Tutor I was responsible for planning and carrying out maths lessons with students either alone or in small groups. I also worked in a more passive setting, assisting teachers delivering their own lessons. This job highlighted to me the importance of clear and concise communication with the pupils and my colleagues. It also often required problem solving and conflict resolution between more challenging individuals. My time at S.A.N was a rewarding learning experience in the “Soft Skills” required to effectively communicate with people, even when opinions differ or the subject matter is difficult.

Escape 2 Make, Remote:

Building Design Team Assistant - October 2023- December 2023

At Escape2Make I co-designed a temporary structure that provided a space for young people in the Lancaster and Morecambe area. The design housed workshop spaces, a kitchen, offices and a multi-functional events space. The key design principles were that it would be made from reclaimed shipping containers and reclaimed materials wherever possible. The client was keen for the design to be fully demountable and able to be stored inside the shipping container for transit, as this temporary structure would be used as a “pop-up” installation whilst a permanent solution was being developed.
