Resident Highlight: Patricia Kuhn

Patricia Kuhn was born in Elroy, WI and was a percussionist throughout grade school and high school. She then accepted a college scholarship in El Paso, TX, receiving her undergraduate degree in music. She went on to work on her master’s degree in music education out east. Pat secured a position as the middle school band director for 7th, 8th, and 9th graders in Menomonee Falls, WI where she taught for 39 years. Shortly after she began her career she met her husband, John. He was the nephew of the Menomonee Falls High School band director. They only dated for six months before tying the knot. Pat and John celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary this year before John passed away in May. The couple stayed in this area, first living in New Berlin, and then building two houses in Slinger. From there they moved to a very large home in Racine out in the woods. It was very peaceful for many years. They then moved to a condo right on Lake Michigan in the Bay View area before coming to Tudor Oaks. John worked in insurance, but his passion was playing the trumpet. Pat would join him at many of his performances. They loved to travel with family, especially on cruises. Pat enjoyed cooking in her earlier days but later she enjoyed going out to eat even better. Her favorite foods are is lobster and shrimp in a nice sauce. Pat has always enjoyed working out. In her earlier days she would run and work out at home. Later she just enjoyed walking. Here at Tudor Oaks she still starts off her days doing exercises at her bathroom sink before taking a long walk. Then she joins in the 11am workout in Windsor House. She loves participating in the other movement events here as well. Ever since college, Pat was involved in modeling. She is always dressed to the hilt. Pat modeled for several department stores and country clubs. She even modeled and taught modeling for Rose Mary Bishop well into the 1980’s. In addition to clothes shopping Pat also enjoys watching and cheering on the Green Bay Packers and Bucks. She loves reading all genres, especially mysteries. Her favorite color is red and her favorite type of music is classical.
