Leading from the lounge you ca n access the chapel.

St Michaels cottage was Fulwood’s first Catholic chapel. Around 1858 the privately owned chapel was opened to serve the Catholics of the township. Two brothers, Revs. John and Thomas Smith, in 1857 purchased Broughton Cottage on Black Bull Lane near the junction with Garstang Road. The house was divided into two parts, numbers 6 and 7, and relatives made their home in one half. Double doors separated the extension from the drawing room, and it was made into the sanctuary which could be closed off when not in use. The walls were paneled with pinewood and, an altar built, set on marble pillars from Durham Cathedral. Above, a beautiful stained glass rose window was installed. The chapel was dedicated to St Michael and the Presbytery/family house next door, to St Mary. Stone statues of the two saints were placed on the outside wall above the front windows and a cross on the roof. Present to this date. The chapel, now the living room, could hold a congregation of up to 100 people.
Back to the main hall, the second reception space is known as The Red Room. A beautiful space finished with original paneling on the walls and ceiling. A coal effect fire with carved wood mantle is certainly an attractive focal point. Stunning stained-glass windows and original window shutters complete this room.

From the rear entrance of the property, you can access the kitchen/dining area. The kitchen comprising a range of traditional wood wall and base units, integrated dishwasher, fridge, microwave, and NEFF oven. A cottage black AGA is set within inglenook, making this a cosy space. The utility room, which was formally utilized as the servant’s quarter, faces the door to the cellar. Adjoining the kitchen/dining area is another room which leads into the summer room/a work desk area, as well as another full unite blue bathroom. French doors opening out onto the rear terrace, from where you can sit and relax or enjoy hosting time with stone built outdoor BBQ.
The cellar can be converted to create additional space that all the family can appreciate or simply continue as wine cellar and jam/pickles storage.
A beautiful, spindled staircase leads up from the entrance hall via the tall stained glass gallery window of the landing that looks out over the rear garden. There are a total of four grand bedrooms on this floor. A fifth chalet style bedroom with ensuite is privately located on the second floor. Two of the double bedrooms benefit from ensuites. The principal master bedroom features vaulted ceiling and has plumbing and space for ensuite. There is also a great walk-in storage cupboard on the landing.
