> 2021: A record-breaking year for The Fine & Country Foundation There is no doubt 2021 was another tumultuous year for much of the world’s economy, and many international charities had to adapt in order to continue to raise funds during a challenging 12 months. As an organisation committed to supporting charities that are working to help those afflicted by homelessness and poverty, The Fine & Country Foundation drew on the support of the Fine & Country network and the public to raise a phenomenal £140,000 for charities in need during 2021. Of the figure raised, £92,000 came from agent contributions – for every completion, the Fine & Country agent generously donated a proportion of their fee to The Foundation. A further £20,000 was raised through events run and organised by The Foundation. In addition, another £21,000 was contributed by the Fine & Country Head Office through a percentage from referral fees and marketing pack sales. Many of the agents within the network also took it upon themselves to raise additional funds, with £7,000 donated to The Foundation through agents’ fundraising events. he Indian Ocean is home to hundreds of islands, but two in particular offer exceptional golfing holidays. Both have been named within the Top 100 Golf Resorts in the world by Golf World (UK). Situated on the island of Prasalin in the Seychelles is Constance Lemuria. Just five minutes from the island’s airstrip, the hotel is nestled in the heart of 101 hectares of lush vegetation. It is home to the only 18-hole golf course in the Seychelles, running adjacent to three beautiful beaches. With greens fringed by mango and coconut palm trees and surrounded by native greenery, it provides an opportunity to recharge the senses. ince the onset of the pandemic almost two years ago, we have re-evaluated how we use the space we live in. 2021 reported a record number of house moves and this trend does not show signs of slowing down as we go into 2022. Interest rates in the UK remain low, while working from home and home schooling look set to continue for the foreseeable future. A new house presents an ideal opportunity to personalise a home and put your individual stamp on it. Many of us are fortunate enough to avoid the morning commute these days, instead focusing on our home-working environments. We are seeing major design trends that incorporate functionality and style. Many people have transformed guest rooms or second reception rooms into multi-functional study areas, with an emphasis on flexibility. Fashionable smart storage and minimalist design have therefore been influential trends, with this set to continue. A key feature of any home office is an ergonomic chair. We also expect to see the introduction of organic shapes and textures that bring decorative interest, such as using ceramic pieces with soft lines.
