FINE & COUNTRY

We were looking for a family home in a village location where we could fully embrace life in the countryside, so this area was very appealing. Everything we need is easily accessible and we can be out walking in fields in just a few minutes, so it’s the best of both worlds here. The large downstairs living area and open plan kitchen was also very attractive to us, as was the private back garden,” say the owners.

“We have a vibrant community here in the village and plenty of social activities to get involved with as much or as little as you like, including annual events organised by the local friends of the church such as the safari supper, barn dance and various clubs. The Parish magazine is useful as it keeps us up to date with forthcoming events such as coffee mornings and sewing groups. We have a welcoming pub in the village, as well as a Sports and Social club where we can watch the local teams play football and cricket. It’s a great horse-riding scene here and there are plenty of opportunities for cycling and walking; we particularly like Green Sands Ridge and riverside walks and nice food at Danish Camp.”

“Set back from the road, and with a long driveway, we quickly find ourselves in a quiet environment when we come home. The rear garden is not overlooked, so it’s ideal for relaxing and BBQs with family and friends. We can easily head inside to the orangery if the weather turns inclement, and on sunny days, there’s nowhere better to enjoy the vast blue sky overhead and views over green fields and trees. There are plenty of shrubs and perennials, as well as a large lawned area, all of which attract wildlife and birds, including a family of woodpeckers, jays, goldcrests, and even deer and badgers.”

“The property is perfect for day-to-day family life and entertaining. The kitchen is the hub of our home where we tend to spend most of our time. We added a large island when we moved in as part of the renovations and it’s been invaluable as it’s a great space to eat, chat, do homework, and relax in each other’s company. The living room is another lovely room where we get cosy and warm in front of the log burner in winter before we move into the orangery to enjoy the garden views when it really comes into its own in spring and summer.”*

Upstairs, the luxurious living experience continues with two large double bedrooms, two small doubles, and a sumptuous master bedroom. The master bedroom is a true retreat, complete with a separate dressing room and an opulent en-suite bathroom. One additional bedroom benefits from en-suite facilities, while a large family bathroom provides the perfect space to unwind and relax.

Outside

Approaching the property, the extensive private driveway leads to a double garage and additional parking, offering abundant space for all your vehicles. The beautiful 100ft mature south-facing garden leads onto a field owned by Bedford Girls School, creating a tranquil outdoor haven.
