Step inside 22 Kingsgate Castle
from Broadstairs, Kent
Steeped in history and perched high on the clifftop, overlooking Kingsgate and Joss Bays, is the Grade II Listed Kingsgate Castle. With its turrets, castellated and flint covered exterior, mullioned and leaded light windows it is awe inspiring and to have the opportunity to own a stunning and unique apartment in this amazing building is something really special. The castle is approached through automatic wrought iron gates and a very long straight drive bordered by communal lawns leading to the carpark and a superb gothic arch flanked by a pair of impressive towers that opens to the front of the building overlooking the sea and the steps up to the front door.
Flat 22 is on the ground floor and the double door entrance leads to a simply breath taking reception hall. It includes high ceilings, herringbone parquet flooring that flows through most of the apartment, gilt framed wall panels, an ornate lintel over the door and other superb features from a bygone era such as high skirtings and dado rails. The lounge/diner is even more fascinating with its high curved ceiling, ornate coving, multi-square panelled doors, painted and relief murals, lighting rose and a superb fireplace as a focal point. There is also access to the inner hall and double glazed doors to the principal bedroom.

The kitchen includes a high curved ceiling with ornate coving, colourful units housing a hob and built in oven, a small breakfast bar and space for other appliances as well as a door to the private garden. There is an unusual bathroom with a purple panelled bath, separate shower and a unique basin as well as two double bedrooms. The first bedroom has attractive wall panels, a coved ceiling, dado rails and views over the garden to the sea. While the second bedroom also includes large windows offering delightful sea views, unique radiators and an arched door to the garden.
As well as having access to large communal gardens this is one of the few apartments to have its own private, very easy to maintain, garden. It is primarily paved and has stunning sea views across Kingsgate Bay and includes a large gravel shrub bed with water resistant plantings and an arch through to a secondary paved area with a charming summerhouse.
