We moved to our home 31 years ago while expecting our first child as we wanted a home with space for our family to grow,” say the current owners of 26 Cheney Gardens. “We loved the property’s position on a small estate with great access to the M40 and excellent primary and secondary schools.”
Since then, the owners have made various improvements to the property. “In 2008 we extended the house substantially with a two-storey extension to the rear and a loft conversion,” they say. “This resulted in some fantastic spacious bedrooms where our children could study, relax and entertain friends whilst we enjoyed very large reception rooms for the whole family to enjoy and for entertaining. The master bedroom suite in the loft extension has been a great asset, too: it is spacious yet has a very cosy feel to it, and the shower room and walk-in wardrobe are such a great bonus.”
“With lots of indoor and outdoor space, we have hosted many parties for family and friends over the past three decades, as well as barbecues in our lovely garden,” the owners continue. “Double doors between the lounge and dining room allow this to be opened up into one large space so that guests can flow easily throughout the ground floor and out into the garden. The peaceful, private garden is sunny and South East facing, with two paved areas, lovely lawns and well stocked flower borders. It has proven large enough for entertaining friends and family and for children’s play equipment. Whether entertaining or in everyday life, this home is sentimental to us as we raised both our children here and have made some wonderful memories.”
The local area has much to recommend it, too. “The close has a great community spirit and we will miss our neighbours very much,” say the owners. “The street has held a number of street parties for various Jubilee and Royal wedding events which have been real highlights. Middleton Cheney has both a primary and secondary school with excellent reputations and our children attended both. We have a very popular co-op store with a post office counter, as well as a newsagent, chemist, hairdresser, beauty salon, and two pubs. A bus runs to both Banbury and Brackley every half hour for further amenities.”*

The rear garden is of a manageable size and has a lovely shaped lawn, two sun terraces and gated access to the side.

The garage has an up and over door, power, light, and a door to the side, whilst the driveway provides off-road parking for three cars.
A really beautiful family home which must be viewed to be appreciated.
