SACRAMENTO – Ang mga manggagawa sa County ng Los Angeles na naapektuhan ng matinding sunog at hangin ay maaari na ngayong mag-aplay para sa federal Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA), o mga regular na benepisyo sa kawalan ng trabaho. Ang Employment Development Department (EDD) ang namamahala sa mga benepisyong ito. Ang DUA ay para sa mga manggagawa—tulad ng mga self-employed na tao, na hindi kwalipikado para sa regular na benepisyo ng kawalan ng trabaho at nawalan ng trabaho o nabawasan ang oras ng trabaho dahil sa sakuna. Ang Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) ay nagpasiya na ang mga tao sa Los Angeles County na nawalan ng trabaho o self -employement bilang direktang resulta ng sakuna ay maaari na ngayon mag-aplay para sa mga benepisyo ng federal DUA . Recognizing Dr. Priscila SantosPizarro’s deep humanitarian contributions to her hometown Orion and to the whole community, USA and the Philippines, this Humanitarian Mission was made in her honor and a Tribute to her Distinguished Life Achievement Humanitarian Legacy. As she was involved in several Medical Mission through all these years not only in her hometown Orion, but several places in the Philippines. With involvement and participation of the PVIMM group in this Medical Mission consisting of 20 medical doctors, 4 surgical doctors, 6 nurse practitioners, 4 dentists, about 80 San Diego PVIMM allied health care professionals and lay volunteers, together with the Pizarro Family Team Members from all over USA plus the
support coming from local doctors and their health-care professionals coupled with administrative assistance/ manpower from the local town of Orion: A Job Well Done.
We were able to render medical services to about 3,000 patients, 1,000 tooth extractions and about 70 minor surgical procedures/ circumcision combined.
Free medicine supplies, reading glasses and assorted gift home essentials were distributed to all attendees to everybody’s delight.
Again, a heartfelt THANK YOU to the Pizarro Family for their generosity and trust in Paradise Valley International Medical Mission, San Diego to carry out this meaningful humanitarian project. Their dedication to service ensures that Dra. Priscila’s legacy continues to inspire and uplift
communities for generations to come. Hence, a well meaningful, timely tribute to Dr. Priscilla-Santos Pizarro followed the night after the Medical Mission. Musical Entertainment provided by the acclaimed and unique Filipiniana Kawayan Musical Ensemble.
On January 29th, the day of arrival to town of Orion, we have the chance to mingle and be entertained by the 42 group of families of the Gawad Kalinga Community Village. The project that the Pizarro has supported and initiated so dear into their hearts as part of their humanitarian effort in supporting inneed, well deserved family livelihood in their town.
A visit to Mt. Samat capped the following day after the mission, ending with a tour of Las Casas Filipinos in Bagac, Bataan. To everybody’s
surprise, the next day, members of the Medical Mission were treated with a relaxing unforgettable Birthday celebration of one of our doctor host, Dr. Amy Bautista. This time, in a beautiful ultra luxurious Adastra Yatch, around Subic Bay with amazing food, dancing and entertainment.

Maaaring maging karapatdapat din ang mga part-time na manggagawa para sa mga benepisyo. Ang mga karapat-dapat na indibidwal na walang trabaho noong Enero 12 ay maaaring humiling na simulan ang kanilang aplikasyon sa petsang iyon, kahit na mag-apply sila pagkatapos ng Enero 12. Ang huling linggong maaaring bayaran ng benepisyong ito ay magtatapos sa Hulyo 12, 2025.
