SPOT Filter
Mode of Operation The Filcon Filtration A/S spot filter is a compact bag filter designed for the removal of dust from equipment and hoppers where work is undertaken on dust generation products. The Filcon Filtration A/S spot filter extracts the minimal amount of air from a tightly closed piece of equipment while it is in operation. This creates a weak negative pressure which prevents dust particles escaping from vents or apertures. The built in extractor fan draws air through the filtration section which is mounted directly on the equipment being operated. The dust settles on the exterior of the filter and falls back into the stream of products while the bags are automatically cleansed. A chain conveyor on which a spot filter is mounted is shown below.
Benefits The Filcon Filtration A/S point filter is an extremely practical alternative to conventional dust removal processes, and enjoys the following advantages: 1. The dust separated inside the filter is continuously returned to the product stream, thereby preventing different kinds of dust from mixing. 2. The Filcon Filtration A/S spot filter delivers purified air to the areas from where the dusty air has been extracted. This prevents a difference in pressure developing between the product compartments. 3. The integrated ventilator automatically controls the volume of air drawn into the system dependent on the air flowing out of the filter. 4. The large air inlet intake ensures that the airflow occurs at a slow velocity and turbulence and dust circulation is therefore minimal. 5. In the event of a fire occurring in a machine equipped with a spot filter the flames will not pass through the filter and reach other machines. 6. The Filcon Filtration A/S spot filter is suitable for installation on existing central aspiration systems and for installation on complex equipment which only utilizes point filters. 7. The Filcon Filtration A/S spot filter can be simply installed on existing equipment. Separate spot filters are installed on new aspiration devices and do not interfere with the operation of previously existing aspiration systems.
Design The Filcon Filtration A/S spot filter is characterised by a simple and functional design. The uncomplicated design ensures that these filters can be very easily installed on conveyors and bucket elevators. The filter bag is automatically cleaned by jets of compressed air. The filtration bags are replaced via a wide inspection door. The Filcon Filtration A/S spot filter is also available without a fan. This kind of filter can be linked to a large central fan.
