615-743-6222
A group of music-loving Turner Members joined Center DirecConnect with Us tor Derek Stogner on Saturday, www.fiftyforward.org October 22nd, for the Annual www.facebook.com/ Free Day of Music at the FiftyForwardJLTurner Center Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Downtown Nashville. Twitter: @FF_Turner Center Director Derek Stogner dstogner@fiftyforward.org
A wide variety of amazing music was on display, including an incredible performance by the Nashville Symphony who performed an eclectic set with pieces ranging from Beethoven to John Williams. The highlight of the day, however, goes to the first performance of the day, in the gorgeous West Courtyard, where the Ukuladies and the Dudes had our members dancing in the streets.

Letter from the Director… Fall weather is upon us, and the holidays are just around the corner. I love this time of year, but it does always seem to make me think about how fast time flies, and how another year is drawing to a close. In the same vein, how my first month as your Center Director flew by! We had a lot of fun events and happenings in October, and I hope you had the chance to enjoy some of our great programming. Speaking of, I hope you’ve had a chance to meet our new Program Director, Brandy Lamb. I couldn’t be more thrilled to have her on board. She has already brought a lot of energy and creativity to our team. I hope you stop by our “Meet the Team” reception this month. We have a lot of other exciting opportunities coming this month, including; Beginner's Bridge Class, our annual Thanksgiving Potluck, and a return to the Curb Open Dress Rehearsals with the Nashville Symphony. Happy Thanksgiving, Derek Stogner Director, FiftyForward J.L. Turner Center Letter from the Program Director… Happy November! My name is Brandy Lamb and it is an honor and a pleasure to join the J.L. Turner Center team as Program Director. I have felt so warmly welcomed by everyone! To share a little bit about myself, I was born and raised in Manhattan, Kansas, also known as the “Little Apple.” I moved to Nashville after college at Kansas State University and fell instantly in love. It has now been 12 years that I have lived in this great community. I live here with my husband, Shane, of 5 years and our sweet rescue dog, Memphis. We both enjoy traveling and the outdoors; hiking, backpacking, camping and gardening. In college I earned a Hospitality Management degree and as such have a passion for food and people. I enjoy cooking and baking. I have a strong health and wellness background, so I particularly love making healthy meals and snacks. I also, currently teach Awareness Yoga on Wednesday evenings at the Ivy House.
At 15 years old I joined my local rowing team and competed as a coxswain and lightweight rower. I was recruited to join the Kansas State Women’s Division I Rowing team as a scholarship athlete. I competed in regattas all of the United States and as far as Europe including the Head of Charles in Boston, MA and the Women’s Henley in England. Throughout 20 years of rowing experience I have coached college, youth and master teams and I am very proud to say that I founded and built the first high school rowing teams here in Nashville at both Montgomery Bell Academy and the Harpeth Hall School. I am very much looking forward to meeting everybody, building our programming up and hearing your feedback and suggestions along the way! Gratefully, Brandy Lamb Program Director, FiftyForward J.L.
