On April 20th, we celebrated National Volunteer Month by honoring our over 30 dedicated and passionate Turner Center volunteers with an appreciation luncheon. As a volunteer organization, we rely on our incredible volunteers to provide our wide range of programs and services.

FiftyForward Executive Director, Janet Jernigan, joined us as our special guest. She praised those assembled for stepping up during the times of transition at the center and opened up the floor for our volunteers to share their stories of service. Rise Tucker, leader of the Retro Rhythms member band and Ambassador, was the recipient of the Robert J. Franz Memorial Award for Volunteer Service and Advocacy. Rise is passionate about the Turner Center. and the importance of staying active and involved as you age, which she shared in her moving acceptance speech. You can see that passion in action by attending our Retro Rhythms Concert here at the center on June 16th at 10:30 AM.

Remember, for $120 annually or $10 a month, you can now join FiftyForward and participate in all of our scheduled programs without a YMCA membership. Additionally, friends who are members of other FiftyForward centers can visit Turner with their ID and FiftyForward card!
