Jim has spent 2 seasons and countless hours of volunteer time creating the beautiful garden you enjoy on the hill outside the Community Room and the Activity Room. During a ceremony on Tuesday, May 12, Jim was presented with a wonderful award recognizing his tireless work at beautifying our little area of the world. Art One Day - Encaustic Painting, June 18th There is another fabulous Art One Day opportunity coming this month Encaustic Painting. This art form, also known as hot wax painting, uses heated beeswax to which colored pigments are added. The liquid or paste is then applied to a surface—usually prepared wood, though canvas and other materials are often used. Local encaustic artist Judy Klich (of River Art Studio) will be here on Thursday, June 18th from 10:00am-1:00pm to teach us how to create an amazing work of art using this unique technique. The cost is only $65 which includes all supplies. This price is exclusive to members of the Turner Center! If you have ever thought, “I want to try that One Day!”, come to Art One Day and try this special workshop.
