Discovering Ourselves Through Art January saw the beginning of an exciting six month arts program underwritten by the Metro Arts Council. The series, called “Who Am I,” will feature a variety of different art projects designed to have participants express their inner selves. Last month, a watercolor project used various techniques to create winter night skylines. It was wonderful to see everyone’s finished projects.

This month will feature another watercolor project. We will be drawing and painting mandalas. Mandalas are geometric patterns often used in Buddhism and Hinduism that represent the universe.

Teaching both projects is Kim Lane. Kim studied Fine Art and Arts History, as well as received a teaching degree at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. She had a career as a high school art teacher and worked for Artworks Studio in Randolph, New Jersey. You may also know Kim as one of our awesome SilverSneaker instructors! Please sign up in the lobby to participate in this month’s project. Space is limited, and last month filled up very quickly!
