We are delighted to announce that Tennessean columnist, Mary Hance, will be our featured speaker at Birthday Potluck this month. Better known to most of us as “Ms. Cheap,” Mary has shared saving tips with us since 1994. Reflecting on the past two decades, Mary offered “takeaways from Ms. Cheap after 20 years on the cheap beat,” including: Nothing is a bargain unless you need it. “Cheap” is not a dirty word. Being cheap just to be cheap doesn’t get it.
Join us for more sage advice from Ms. Cheap this September 17th. Lunch is at 11:30, and Mary will speak at noon. The Center provides the main course. Please bring a side dish.

Did you know that Charlotte almost became Tennessee’s state capitol? The Red Hats will head for the town square in Charlotte this September 24th, where they will tour the court house (the longest working court house in the state), see the historic Presbyterian Church, and stop by an Amish grocery. Of course they’ll have lunch someplace good! The van will leave the center at 10 am. Van fee is $8.
