To ensure participants have adequate opportunity to attend trips and activities and that staff time and center resources are properly utilized, the following policies must be followed. Program/Center Director’s have the discretion to make exceptions: By signing up for a trip, activity or program you are making a commitment to this activity so you are responsible for putting it on your calendar and showing up on time. Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance to receive credits. Less than 24 hours and no shows do not receive credit. All trips require a minimum number of people which is decided by each center/program. The staff reserves the right to cancel a program or trip in the event of minimum enrollment numbers not met. Trips not meeting the minimum number will be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance and credit or refund will be given to those already signed up. If you choose to meet the bus at a destination, you may be charged an administrative fee to off set the cost of making the trip arrangements. Trips will leave at the stated departure time, so it is best if you arrive 10 minutes prior to departure. A ticketed trip/event will not be refunded unless someone from the waitlist is available to take the ticket holders place. Habitually cancelling or no-show for trips and events will result in being placed on a wait list for future trips. If a trip is cancelled due to weather or other uncontrollable circumstances, every effort will be made to reschedule the trip with ample notice to participants. If the trip is rescheduled for a date the ticket-holder cannot attend, a credit or refund will be issued. There are no cash refunds given for any trips/event. LUNCH AROUND TOWN
Sopapillas Monday December 3 at 3:30pm Sopapillas’ owner, Steve Dale, came from Phoenix and Albuquerque. As a Nashville bass player, Dale was nominated for three Grammys and two Dove awards and was constantly touring. He later became the bass player for the Country group “Little Big Town” for five years and had the opportunity to play for John Mellencamp, Lindsay Buckingham, and Kenny Loggins. Even though Music City was kind to Dale, he really missed the traditional foods and flavors that he loved out west. He longed for something that tasted like home, but he couldn’t find it. So he began to cook many of his favorite dishes and often tried them out on his bandmates. While Dale and Little Big Town were on tour with artists such as Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Sugarland, and Martina McBride, they would throw special post-show fiesta nights where Dale would cook his southwestern delights. These fiesta nights became increasingly popular and his yearning to open a New Mexican restaurant was soon becoming a reality. With the encouragement of the band and many friends and family members, Dale opened his first Sopapillas in 2010. After expanding the Franklin restaurant and doubling its space in 2011, Dale opened a second Sopapillas in Hendersonville in 2013. Sopapillas continues to grow and has won multiple awards including “Best Mexican Restaurant” in Nashville for the past three years. Dale and his wife Emily (who work together in their restaurants) are very passionate and meticulous about providing the freshest possible southwestern food to their guests.
