Martin Member Highlight: Genevieve Gulch was born and raised in the Western Suburbs of Chicago. She met her love, Stanley, when she was in her 20’s. They married quickly, and spent 51 years watching their 3 daughters grow, and then raise their own families. Unfortunately, Stanley passed away in 2004. Genevieve lived with her eldest daughter, Donna-Jean, until her passing in 2015. Then, she moved to TN with her youngest daughter, Heather, and family. It’s been quite a change from living with one other lady, to living in a house of 7, plus their many animals. Genevieve’s favorite pet is Patches, her terrier. Shortly after moving to Franklin, her son-in-law told her about the Martin Center. As an executive with Tractor Supply, John attended a meeting at the Center. Heather and Genevieve went to check it out, and Genevieve joined right away. Just walking in the front door, she could see this would be a wonderful place of fun and friendship. Over the last 4 years, Genevieve has participated in many events. Her favorites are definitely poker on Mondays, and Canasta on Thursdays. She’s always excited about Pot luck and Bingo. Most recently, she’s having fun with the ladies who volunteer to prepare the newsletter for mailing. She hopes to find a group to play Pinochle, and a Chicago Cubs fan club would be nice! Martin Center has been an absolute blessing. Genevieve highly recommends the center to anyone who is looking for a variety of activities, and a large group of friendly people, from staff to members. Go Cubs!
