Construction Update for FiftyForward Madison Station Hopefully you have heard by now that the Center started our renovation project over the holidays for some much-needed improvements. Due to the winter weather approaching, we are closing the center UNTIL MONDAY, JANUARY 9th. Again, the Center WILL BE CLOSED the week of January 2-6 and will RE-OPEN on JANUARY 9. This will allow both our r estr ooms to be rebuilt back to functioning order, as well as have our new ramp built so that everyone will still be able to access our main entrance for the duration of the remodel. We understand that this may be disappointing, but believe it is the best way to get a lot of the major demolition work done and the best way to keep our members safe. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Please remember you may visit any of our sister Centers (Donelson, Knowles, Martin, Bordeaux, or College Grove). We are excited about the coming improvements and know this small sacrifice will be worth it! When we re-open on the 9th, please note that things WILL NOT be back to normal! You WILL still enter the building in the normal entrance. However, the front office will be moved to the conference room and the check-in desk will be moved to the “Chamber Hallway” (between the conference room and ladies room). Please note that it is VITAL that you check in with your membership and Silver Sneakers card (if applicable). Please do not forget, as your check-in is how our center receives revenue! Contractors estimate that it may take another 3-4 weeks to finish construction once we return to the building on the 9th. Please be patient and attentive as some classes will have to change locations, so please read signs when you enter the building. THANK YOU for all of your support and understanding. This remodel is being undertaken to give our membership a better, more accessible Center!
Fitness Center No Longer Open Evening Hours
Tax Appointments Now Being Made
Effective January 9th, 2017, our Fitness Center will no longer be keeping evening hours. Instead, it will be closing the same time as our Front Office. The Fitness Center will still open at 7:00 am, but will close at 4:30 pm Monday-Thursday and at 3:30 pm on Fridays.
AARP Foundation Tax-Aide offers free tax preparation at our Center every year to anyone of any age—especially if you are 50 or older or can’t afford paid tax preparation.
This decision comes after studying “after hours” usage of the Fitness Center. Unfortunately, the low attendance during the evening hours does not warrant the cost of keeping it open late. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Thank you!
We are now making appointments. Volunteers will be here every Wednesday from February 1 to April 12 between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:30 pm. Appointments fill up quickly so don’t delay!
